Bumper cam is fine but EXTREMELY frustrating when there are tons of cars on screen...hood view would've been perfect (like NFS:SHIFT)....shame they left it out for roof camera...(like really....what was the reasoning behind this PD?)

Also, i'm a little upset they put zero effort into redoing the HUD. If they didn't want to remodel 800+ standard cars, they could actually use the real gauges that are in the car! That would be a nice trade-off when paired with a hood view IMO....

In GT5P the bumper cam is at driver's eye level actually. Same height as the cockpit. Pretty sure it'll be the same for GT5

This.
And it's always been like that in previous GT games - at least since GT3. That's the reason the so called "bumper cam" is actually usable in GT unlike most other games where it's set way too low.
That's not to say I wouldn't like a hood view; though not very realistic - you don't see that much of the hood/bonnet in your car - I kind of got used to it playing Ferrari & Super Car Challenge!

Im confused the Demo I just played had hood cam It looked like this and to be honest with you guys its a pretty good view to me, but i can understand if you guys would want it a little lower.

All cars had that view? Many demo videos I've seen had still ROOF cams and no hood view. Only hood view I seen is that SLR.

Because the more the marrier ;)

A normal person will vote YES even if he or she will not use it, a TROLL will vote NO because they dont want to make everyone happy. So sometimes you have to say something like that, sure its bit steering people, but you have to do something either way.

You realise you aren't making any sense right, uhnn no your a troll (spoken in childish tone), get real I clearly stated that i'm all for it.

If your goal is to ask a question phrased in a manner which predetermines the outcome, well you've done it, bravo.

Oh wow, thanks for noticing that.

All of them had it bro my favorite was the Enzo and the Autech GTR.

That sounds cool, but I would like to see some pictures. Last BestBuy demos AKA GT5 2010 demos I do not remember a single Hood view.

Hood view is fine, but not at the expense of roof view.

Yeah The more the better. I know in GT4 some cars had a great Roof Cam I enjoy, but many it feels like driving a bus. For me roof cams are great to see more of the cars and how much i can drive though a corner, but at the same time it feels bit too much.

I got you tomorrow man I will take pics of them ok. 👍

I think I am more excited for hood view over cockpit view since many cars wont have cockpit view. Also my Wheel setup will act as a Cockpit view, so the game needs a cool hood view such as in the picture.

There was a hood view at the Nurburgring and Gamescom demo, but not so in the E3 and TGS demos

The demo I tried this week, the SLS does not have the view shown above, just the usual GT roof cam view

Yeah I wonder which one will be in GT5. I remeber the DEMO with Skid marks had the best car sounds yet in the best buy demo the sounds are different.

I feel bad for you guys then. When you play GT5 I think many folks will be reminded that its the driving that hooks you. I am a huge cockpit fan, but i cant see my self not driving standard cars because they have no cockpit view. I played for 2 hours test drove every car on every track with both bumper cam and cockpit view. Both game me an great experience 👍

What view is that supposed to be in the Gamercon video? That looks like it'll be fine. Besides the novelty factor, I don't care much for interior views. They cut too much of the screen off...

Well it seems the Supra "hood cam" is too high to be a proper hood cam...

Watch from 1:40 onwards. The bumper cam is the same height and view as the cockpit, just without the body of the car, but the next "bonnet cam" is a lot higher and more distant looking :(

The bonnet cam in NFS Shift is just about perfect. You notice how the bonnet fills the screen, compared to the GT5 one, because the camera sits lower

From the first video, from minute 1:35 onwards it's clear that between the "bumper cam" and the cockpit cam the height is about the same, true!
However upon more detailed analysis it seems that the horizontal FOV is wider with the cockpit cam. There are some small differences.

Don't think that's a hood cam, but a roof one. Thats why you can see the entire width of the car. On that SLR image you can't cause its so close to the hood.

What about the SLR? Cause that's an SLR :P

I think that Castrol supra camera looks pretty good...if thats how it is then thats probably the view i'll use for all the cars (including premium)

No SLR in the demo, but the SLS is about the same dimensions and height as the SLR and the view is different. All you see is a bit of the roof
