You mean like the SLR video that is a hood view. The hood is mostly flat and takes up the whole bottom of the TV.
I'm aware lol random?
Wow, I thought it had a hood cam. Guess I haven't played in a whileThanks
Would a GTPSP-style cockpit view (blackened outlines, no details) for standard cars be a substitute for a proper hood view, or do people want a hood view regardless if all cars will have some sort of cockpit view or not?
If all cars will turn out to have a cockpit view, I wouldn't feel the need for a hood view at all, personally.
That's a roof cam. If it was a hood cam, the hood would look skewed (sides of the hood very close to the camera would go off the side edge of the screen, not the bottom), trust me on this. If I have to, I will post some renders of a rally car I built in 3D to show you what I mean. It's a simple understanding of perspective and what a camera sees. There is no way you'd see the front edge of that hood if it was a hood cam. It would appear to drop out of sight sooner if that was the case. I'll post what I'm getting on about when I'm home late tonight so you can understand.

I dont know man its kinda weird because if you look at the two picture you can actually see the roof on the Nascar the view is actually higher than the Stingray. The Stingray picture Its like a mixture of both cams.

Nascar
Its been officially stated blacked out borders cockpit won't happen. No interior camers whatsoever.
Well I will analyze it using a car I made, and post what I find. I'll use screenshots from in game to mimic the exact camera position on the car to see if we can put this all to rest. I'll also be able to find out exactly what focal length the cameras are as well. I'll post all this info in a new thread and link it here. I'll do the same for a bumper cam so we can get an idea of just how high it is off the ground.
The Stingray looks like its coming over the crest of a small hill, but it's a bad image to use for camera referencing. Also, the picture is only looking at the bottom portion of the screen, so our eye is tricked into thinking the camera is pointing down based on how much road surface we see vs. what is above the horizon.
Well in GT5P if you switch from cockpit view to bumper view the height of the camera in reference to the road doesn't change and everyone knows that. So post your findings. Would be glad to know but it clearly looks like several different views are being used to me.
Look at those 2 pictures again. Look at where the lap time display is in both views. Once again, those pictures don't show the entire screen, so you can't compare the two at all. Find some full screen, straight on pictures, or videos, and compare those.
Bro I played the game If I move the camera up all your going to see is a little more sky. The Nascar looks like that because its a whole different view from the GTR not because of camera placement.
First of all, I meant If they get included. If they do, I wouldn't feel the need for a hood cam, this is what I wrote, and the point of my previous post.
Secondly, many things have been officially stated, but it doesn't mean that they are fixed in stone and can't change in the course of development, considering that we have yet to see any gameplay video of GT5 featuring standard cars. Showing "last minute improvements" would be in PD's best interest to help people accept the existence of the so-called "standard" models.
Anyway, that matter is probably off-topic here, and I'm not implying that things will surely change in the final build. Just that there's a possibility, as technically there's nothing preventing PD to add them as mentioned by KY himself.

It still doesn't change the fact that you can see the roof of the nascar but not of the other car when both pictures clearly show the bottom of the tv frame thats all he is saying the roof is clearly seen in one picture and not in the other. It really doens't matter how much of the tv screen you can see when you are talking about the body of the car.
Dont explain he is mister know it all, but I went to game stop real quick with my bro here are better pics. I also took some quick videos. i will post them later I have to go Pumpkin picking with my family whoo hooo... Ughhh

Good pictures...Unless Nascar runs with a off center hood scoop and a antenna on the hood that is clearly a roof.
I'm just stating what I see, and trying to explain my reasoning behind this. Those last two pictures are pretty good proof that this looks like a roof cam in both. The horizon is identical, and well, one has a roof in it, lol.
You need to go back and read my reply before last. Just because the roof isn't seen, doesn't mean it's not a roof cam. The position is identical in both. We don't see the bumper in the bumper cam, so why is it called that? Say it with me now..............CAMERA..........POSITION..........
I don't think I need to go back and read your last reply. Each car is on flat level ground and the ....................CAMERA..................POSITION..............is the same.
I really don't think you need to talk to me like I'm a little kid. Just like you stated "bro" to JDMKING13. Talking down isn't the answer.
Whatever, I am done evidently you can talk without getting offended. Think what you want and I will think what I want we have both stated our theories and neither of us know the truth until we play the game. So off with ya. Later
The camera inside the NASCAR, did you change that? or it was Automatic? It be cool to see a replay in on-board camera view![]()
So all cars have it? How cool! I cant wait. I some video of the TT demo with on-board view that a player could switch, but once I downloaded the TT demo it was never there![]()
I hope its in full game.
