G25 in cockpit / Panasonic 50" Full HD / Pioneer LX70 7.1 sound. and still waiting for the cheapest component.... GT5!!

Aquos 37" at the moment with dual shock.

All this media has prompted me to order a gameseat pro and DFGT. Should turn up week after next. :0)

I can't justify a G27 quite yet, but once GT5 hits the streets im sure I will change my mind.

Fanatec PWTS + 39' Samsung HD TV.

I'd like to be able to get surround sound but my room is too small.

Already have a 42" 1080 tv. I'll be getting a G25 in less than a month, and definitley build some sort of racing cockpit. theres so many ways i can go about it, yet i havent settled on one... should i go cheap or go all out? should i buy it or go the DIY route.. i just dont know.

32" HD Sony and, maybe, a wheel. Just can't decide between DFGT or G25/27... hmmm.

Hardly the right place to ask, but does the FFB for the DFGT and the G27 feel the same?

No they do not. The G27 uses Helical Gears that run quieter than the G25 (and the DFGT). I believe the G27 also uses 2 FFB motors (correct me if I'm wrong).

However, for the price, the DFGT is a fantastic wheel. I owned one for a year and a half. Never had a problem with it. I would have kept it, but I needed the extra $ to go towards my PWTS.

;)

With a DualShock 3/Sixaxis on a non-HDTV. I couldn't care less about super-powerful-demon game enhancers.

Thanks for the info... cuz with DFGT being the 'official' wheel of GT, I kinda thought it would have better feedback than, say, the G-wheels. The clutch isn't a big deal for me... I just wanna get the best FFB possible. The noise isn't an issue (I say that now, though that might change after a few hours of play )

G27 + Sony KLD-40V4220. I actually was sruggling with how to fix the G27 to my sturdy living room table until I realized that you can take those little grip parts off of the wheel. Now it fits fine! ...Took me about a week to figure out the modification possibilities on G27....

I was playing all my PS3 games on a 20 year old 30" standard tv up until christmas 09.

Now finaly i have a 42" LCD HD with HDMI cable.

""Bring on GT5""

DFGT with racing seat. Cockpit view.

37" LG in 1080p. via HDMI V1.2.

DTS 5.1 through Pioneer digital amp and Mordaunt Short surround system inc. subwoofer. via 2m Optical.

The proper way, haha. I only bought a PS3 for GT5 and blu-ray movies, so instead of wasting money on other games i've saved up for all this stuff prior to GT5's release. Still bloody waiting though, I really didn't think it would take this long. I wouldn't have bothered if i'd have known a new slim model was out before GT5.

Still the PS3 came in handy for Blu-ray, DVD, CD playback, fullscreen youtube and iplayer.

I'm leaning towards DFGT, already have an HDTV.
But I'm also think about G27, G25, and Fanatec.
Oh, and hopefully I should have a 42'' 1080p by then, instead of my 32" 720p
Very possibly a fairly expensive stand too.

^How much do you expect 10 inches and 1080p to be better than a 720p 32 inch tv? I've been thinking of getting a 42 inch 1080p instead o my 32 720p tv, but I really think it isn't worth it. The ten inches won't be mind blowingly more and will 1080 really make your eyes orgasm?

Well, 32" 720p isn't all that better than 27" 480i.
So I expect a better gain from going up to 42" and 1080p.

Visually, I expect minimal gain, as far as graphics, etc.
However, the 10 inches to 42" I've already seen in stores, and it's quite a large difference, remember, TV's are measured diagonally, and with widescreen 32" is no higher than 27" standard.

So basically, the 42" is actually a decent bit higher than I've had, whereas my 32" only made it wider, which means about squat to me.

I suppose so. Hey, if you can afford it and if it's a smart decision go for it. However, wait until GT5 is out. The prices should be lower. But you really can't go wrong with an HDTV of any size. And 32 inches (actually measures 31.5, is plenty big). Of course you can go bigger. But then again, you could be without an hdtv.

old school driving force, 26 inch samsung hd monitor, with phillips surround sound.

No rig as of yet.. i've stripped out a set of drawers though! my DFGT clamps on it at a nice height and my legs go through for the peddles. i just sit on my sofa to play

LOL! I had this sort of set up when I first got my DFGT.

Then I got a few bits of wood and cobbled together a stand which was fine if not a little rickety.

Now though I'm rocking the Wheel Stand Pro. Not a particulary cheap piece of kit but it's beautifully crafted. It's really sturdy too. It doesn't look that stable it the pictures but this thing doesn't move when in use. To anyone considering getting one I'd say do it. I see quite a few people on here have them already.

TV is Panasonic 42" Viera which I'm trying to convince the missus needs to be upgraded to a 50":sly:

There is a very suprising difference actually. I would guess it is from the height gain but a 42" seems a lot bigger than a 32". Oh and I'm running G25 + 42" Samsung + 5.1 Panasonic :)
