How do you intend to play GT5? (HDTV-SDTV/PC monitor/wheel/controller)

DFGT + 42" 1080p TV. If I can scrape enough spare cash together before GT5 releases, I hope to get a Wheelstand Pro.

As it looks right now...

DFGT with a 32in 1080p Sony Bravia and a homemade rig

but, if my taxes come back good...

G25/27 with a Playseat

and at work, Dual Shock 3 with a 32" 720p Vizio

I play GT5P with a G25 mounted to a Wheelstand Pro and a projector and 90" screen. Sound is a 5.1 Marantz/Dynaudio/Mordaunt Short system. I'm waiting for the 5 year old 720P projector to fail so that I can get a new 1080P one. Otherwise there will be no difference when GT5 comes.

Never played GT series with a steering wheel, but I'm considering Driving Force GT for this one. In fact I'm already saving up money for it.

Just got a DFGT, going through my games just now and it's a bit crazy at high speed in F1CE but I like, very good so far but gonna take a bit of getting used to.
No cockpit or anything so bolted onto coffee table in front of 32"HD and seat cushion is off the armchair so I'm a bit lower.
Table sitting on wooden floor and FF makes quite a bit of movement which I think'll probably annoy my downstairs neighbour so got table legs sitting on cushions which raises it up a bit too.
Strange setup bit it works. Does anyone else do anything strange or is it just me?

Got a DFGT before Christmas but haven't used it much as haven't got anything decent to fix it to. Ordered a wheel stand pro last Monday and will hopefully be left with a neighbour tonight or back at the parcelforce depot. If it wasn't for the snow I'd already have it!

Apart from that 40" Panasonic plasma and 5.1 surround sound

...like the ironing board idea!

Sharp 37" LCD HDTV. no other way to play GT5 than in 1080p
Denon trueHD receiver amplifier, only set up for 5.1 now, but if GT5 is trueHD then 7.1 it shall be
DFGT, although i'm seriously considering fanatec's GT3RS. i want the best out of GT5 for sure

No rig as of yet.. i've stripped out a set of drawers though! my DFGT clamps on it at a nice height and my legs go through for the peddles. i just sit on my sofa to play

No way I'm gonna play GT5 on a LCD. Every time I play on LCD TV I feel the game is not reacting as fun as on a simple CRT TV, the problem is in lcd delays, it feels weird and unpleasant, where on CRT it feels spot-on, just perfect. although the sharpness is great on LCD. I'm best off with a CRT and a steering wheel, sorry LCD crap-tv. ;)

G25+ Sharp Aquos 42" Full HD + Sony Home Theater 1000W 5.1 System and a lot of beverages and Doritos, and the odd Hero sandwich.

This is news to me, as I have seen GT on a CRT. Unless you like having your visuals squished in on the sides(loss or field of view) go on ahead my friend, but LCD's are the way to go if you want to fully enjoy GT 5. It's meant for widescreen displays, GT4 was built with that in mind too. The only problem you could be referring to is the response time of the screen, but mine is a 3 year old LCD and the response time is 8ms, and that doesn't cause any problems I've been able to see. If that's the problem then all the LCD's out now should have zero issues like that, they have faster response time than mine 5ms now.

Home:
Sony 52” BRAVIA XBR10-Series LCD TV
Logitech G27

Cottage (Summer home):
Sony 46” BRAVIA XBR Series LCD TV
Logitech G25

I've disassembled my home made wheel stands so I'm going to order a playseat for the cottage later in the spring, and I have on order a wheel stand pro for home.

I also need a new home theater setup for home but that will not happen till after GT5 is out.

A DS3 on a HDTV. I don't have the money for a decent wheel and I still live with my parents, who wouldn't appreciate nor really understand the need for a full wheel+seat setup, which is the way I would do it if I did get a wheel (my previous experiences with wheel's attached to desks, etc have told me that I don't like that setup).

When I get the money together for my own flat in a year or so's time, I fully intend to invest in a G25 or G27 though.

Ahh, nice idea. I might have just the thing but what to do to stop the sound going through the wood floor?

umm... i guess you could try bubble grip. i have carpet so not much of an issue for me (compared to engine sounds whaling out of the speakers anyway). the more cushioning you use the less rigid it will feel i would imagine though

Kaz would actually SHOOT you

I would be honored. :D

Anyway when it comes to such tight games, simulation like GT these LCD delays are not very good imo, every other game is fine though. Infact there is a PC game that LCD delays are also a negative thing and that is Counter Strike Source. I have played GT4 on a CRT for much time and then I switched to a LCD via the same component cables it felt strange. If the LCD is big and wide that is a big plus for the "experience" of course, but not crucial. I'm using the bumper cam anyway.

Maybe you should forget LCD and try Plasma.

A Sharp HD LED Aquas tv, and a DFGT clamped to a school desk. I know, a desk but it was either that, or my lap.

Finally got my wheel stand pro after chasing down the parcelforce delivery van in the snow (literally!). Just need to convince the missus to get a few early nights so I can get used to using the DFGT.
