Me too, although I do wear glasses occasionally.

glasses but I may consider getting contacts this year. However, it may not be convenient for me since I the doc said I might need special order lenses for my eyes.

That reminds me, I want to get a pair of Tagheueur (sp?) sunglasses this year. If I get contacts, I'll be able to save about $400 on them because of the cost of lenses :D

How bad are everyone's prescriptions? I'm at 4.75 in each eye and my peripheral vision is really REALLY fuzzy. That's one of the main reasons I want contacts

I think I'm at 3.75 or 2.75. my left eye is at 3.5 or 2.5, i believe...

I'm at 4.00 on the right and 2.75 on the left.

There should be a multiple choice option, I use contacts when I'm going somewhere but at home I wear glasses.

I like emad, order special lenses, one of my eyes is worse than the other. I hate it when you dig your nail into the contact, I've actually ripped a contact like that!

Same.

I only really wear my contacts when I go to school. I don't even bother with my glasses unless I'm reading something. My vision isn't too bad. I have a fairly minor astigmatism.

My vision is fine.......don't need glasses......although after GT4 I probably will!

My eyes are horrendeously(sp) bad in terms of vision. I did have glasses up until last Christmas. I had been wanting to get contacts for a while, so I scheduled an appointment, and told him that I wanted some. No regrets, I love them.

I love my contacts, I hate the nerdy look of me with glasses! :guilty:

I've had a few problems recently with my contacts, starting with an eye infection under my eyelid, no contacts for 6 weeks. Then, it's been better. I need to get the new 35% more air ones. :)

I've had glasses since Grade 1.

I have [above average] 20-10 vision with glasses, and [normal] 20-20 vision without glasses. I only need glasses when I'm taking road trips, or driving in unfamiliar places. They help me to see signs from really far away off. A buddy of mine has 60-10 vision, and it is absolutely insane the **** he can read that I can't even begin to see.

Just a question......don't any of you ever feel upset that you maybe hurting your eyes.....like when you work on the computer for ages and your eyes feel tired.....it kinda scares me that I probably see slightly worse than when i ws probably 7 or somthing :(

I used to have excellent vision; 20-12 in my right eye, and 20-14 in my left. Then, suddenly my eyes started to go south. Old age, I guess. Now, my eyes are so bad, I had to start wearing glasses. First, just a little bit, at the start, but not anymore. Now, it's all the time, and I hate it.

The problem is, I don't know much about eyes, and getting glasses. I just went to a eye doc, and he gave me glasses that still made my vision blurry, but it was an improvement. How great are eye glasses, anyway? Is it 2-10, or what? How do I get a better pair of galsses?

monitors only cause eye strain and that's because of their refresh rates. That's why it's important to take breaks in between. At 75Hz on my CRT, I can usually sit in front of the screen for two hours at a time before I need to get up. My laptop's LCD has a terrible refresh so I need to get up almost every hour because it's so bad

I know......it really does upset me when I think about my eyes.......I need to work on my computer but I wish they made screens that were completely eye strain proof......maybe in 2020! They should make the screen turn off and stay off for a break every half hour!.......force ya to save your eyes!

How did you get 20-10 glasses? A friend said to tell the optometrist you're a pilot, so he/she would make a better pair of glasses for you. Is that true? I ask this because you're a pilot, or training to be one, and have 20-10 glasses, which I desperately want.

I have -4.00 in each eye. I use glasses around the house and contacts when I leave and do other activities. The funny thing is my little brother has the worst vision in our family.

I wear glasses, transitions! They're great, like prescription glasses and sun glasses in 1. I at first wanted contacts but my eyes itch a lot so I don't think they'd be good for me

My eyes were 30/40 or something, since I got glasses they've probably gone worst from that. Eventually I'll get Lasik done, but it can be expensive.
I not only have poor distance vision, I have the stigmatism thing, it's like I can see everything but it gets blurry. If I sqwint a cirtain way it gets clearer. My glasses fix it all. :)

I wear contacts mostly, glasses when I'm at home or running late and don't have enough time to put my contacts on.

I use glasses when I drive, because the law says I must. But other than that, never!

Of course, if I forget my glasses, I find a couple of shots of Jack Daniels is a sound substitute*

*Gag. Don't drink and drive, kids. Although it's fine for adults.**
**Another gag. Really it's fine for kids too.***
***Oh, forget it.

Despite years of heavy computer use, my vision is excellent. My friends are amazed at the stuff I can read from far away. I wish I knew what my actual vision rating was (20/20 for example).

I've written up before my really odd eyesight ratings.

My left eye is approximately 20/30, slightly farsighted (practically unnoticeable). My right eye is 20/50, extremely nearsighted (I can't read anything more than two feet away with my right eye by itself). But my overall vision (using both eyes) is a perfect 20/20. I have no clue how that works out, but it does.

Anyway, since my overall vision is fine, I don't "wear" anything... if my left eye ever degrades though, I'd probably get contacts.

your lucky sage. i don't remember mine, the doctor said mine are bad enough that if i wanted them i could get them, but i dont need them. he just said if they ever bother me or i feel that i need them, then get em. so really i should go get contacts.

how do they figure that computer screens ruin your vision? its just like looking into a light, so that is saying that we should not have the lights on in our house... better hope your not afraid of the dark

I'm happy to say that I wear contacts. I finally switched over to contacts my sophmore year of high school because I was so sick of wearing glasses. I have no idea on my vision but I'm sure that I'd be blind otherwise if not for my contacts/glasses.
