how limited will the collectors and signature edition be? i mean with all these retailers carrying it and A LOT of people preordering the SE and CE, will they run out or will they keep making CEs and SEs?

CE and SE are only for limited time. Yes its better to pre order it because some stores only get few extra copies for non pre order. I do not know how long, but after a week or two those CE and SE editions will fly off the shelves.

so when it gets sold out at the retailers, they wont have them in stock anymore? coz i plan on buying the SE from europe and just keeping it in mint, unopened condition until the time comes to sell it for 10x the price!

Yes, they will never ever make it. Only Normal copies will be continued to produce.

Thats what I did with Japanese PS3 MGS4 super limited edition. Never opened, and in 10 years I will sell it :D

hopefully you sell it ten times more than what you bought it for! lol, i hope GT5 SE will sell for thousands.. lol

I think LOL was the right choice of word.
Any reason why you made a new thread as opposed to asking the question in the CE thread?

It seems like they made a whole heck of a lot though. I mean nobody has run out of them yet. Doesn't seem very limited to me.

yeah exactly what i was thinking.. so basically were paying more for a toy car and a book.. i think its worth the price though, but i hope its so limited that the people that didnt buy the CE or SE will cry for not getting it.. lol

hopefully more limited than the Forza 3 "cant give it away" edition, could have waited a week from launch and got it for £20 less :guilty:

While it will certainly be "limited" they will have absoloutely heaps of them. GT5 is going to sell millions of copies, which reasonably puts the limited editions at say 1 million each.

You wont have trouble finding one. It`s more marketing than anything, tell someone there is limited supply and whack the price right up and people will fall over themselves in the rush to get it. When the rush is over and the price drops to something realistic then you walk in and grab it off the shelf.

Except I don't see how the price is whacked up? It's only $40 more an that die cast car easily costs that much. We get the book and what else for free pretty much.

That might be true for the US. Here in aus(where we pay double the premium price for last years left over base models) a pre ordered standard GT5 is AU$109. CE is AU$299. The only model cars that go for $190 are very highly detailed 1:18 die cast ones and thats at a good price.

agreed, i think the CE is a better deal than the standalone version.. the book is 300+ pages, the die cast is made by kyosho, and a custom etched key fob! The SE is whats overpriced.. 100 or so dollars more and all they added was a wallet and a black carrying case..

Ebgames Australia has sold out pre-orders for the Signature edition.

I've heard this too but where did the this rumor originate?

They stopped listing the Signature edition on the website, I phoned them to confirm it wasn't dropped and they told me thats not the case and the reason it was removed was because they have none left to offer.

cool! Does anyone have a production numbers for the CE and SE? Are we talking thousands, tens of thousands?
thanks
:)

I thought the SE offers all the stealth cars and an opportunity to win a sls mercedes benz.

yes you're correct, the SE does have ALL stealth cars and they will have a competition of some sort to win the SLS. its probably whoever beats the game 100% first wins! lol

you cant even pre order the SE or the CE in Germany at this time even though its announced. Nobody knows here why you cant pre order it and nobody knows how much they will get not even amazon or gamestop. it is real confusing over here. some strange retailers on amazon want to sell it for 350€ and write everyday that there is only one left.

I think the SE is good have because of the 11 special cars and the APEX book. i think the book is the most importent thing to have. I dont believe that anybody wants to have it in ten years because there will be a new generation of playstation and maybe 2 more Gran Turismos ( if we're lucky :sly: ), so dont waist your money for just staying it in a cupboard. Use it! and have fun with the APEX, the little mercedes (here in Germany, i think its a Nissan in the USA), the stealth cars and other stuff.
