how limited is the CE and the SE?

Thats what I did with Japanese PS3 MGS4 super limited edition. Never opened, and in 10 years I will sell it

Thats just like what I did with MGS3:Subsistence Limited Edition.
I never opened it, and it sold more than 2x the price!👍

Anyone know how many Collector Editions were made?

That doesn't sound like a very good investment. historically, CE's don't hold a resale value any more than standard editions.

Unless maybe you got serial number 00001.. Which you'd have to open to find out (your best bet would be to keep it sealed)
The odds of you turning a substantial profit don't look good.

hard to say with these things...

CE was a nice package though.
The GTR model car was very nice, very detailed, beit small scale, and the included plastic display case was a nice touch as overall package of the car.

Apex book is packed with good info and fun facts.

slip case and the COA was a nice touch, from a collector's point of view.

SE I think has a better chance then the CE to go up if mint. the case alone was very special. Benz paint job for crying out loud!

but then, it could not...

As for saving CE or SE as an investment, don't bother. Although its only available for a limited time, they made a boatload of them. You need demand to create a high price, there is no reason that in 10 years there will be some sort of demand for this when copies of it will still be prolific. Could you make a few bucks? Maybe, even at the most double your money... Wow double your money in 10 years? You could do the same buying a savings bond, a Certificate of Deposit, or in 10 minutes playing blackjack.

We don't have the SE available in the US.

Well you're going to have to wait a long time for it to get that valuable. Most Special Editions don't appreciate like that. Maybe it'll hold it's original value but it's not going to skyrocket.

They are and will be only worth what you paid or less open or not... Stuff like this doesn't appreciate.

Looks like the answers are kind of mixed up.. lol, I might have just shot myself in the foot. If anything, if anything I can sell on eBay for 20-30 dollar profit. But I will hold on to it for a year or two though and see what happens.. thanks for your opinions guys!

Edit: it seems like there are only tens of thousands of collectors edition made as the highest number of ce certificate has only 5 digits. Unless someone out there has 6? If anything they probably onlymade 99,999 which most of them are already opened! Lol

I don't expect to profit from my CE. I bought it because I wanted the model car and the Apex book. Price in ten years will be worth squat.

Interesting. I never would have though. I haven't seen a CE on a store shelf other than on Launch day.
But then again, you live in a large Metropolitan area. I live in a town of about 20K.
