How many cars do you think that GT6 includes?

500 PREMIUM cars.
Quality > Quantity.
Get rid of those ugly standards. No need to include them in GT6. Remember the Graphics engine is already done.

I'd be happy with 550-600 premium ONLY, plus DLC.

400 at least, 550 at the most.

About 500. No one is gonna put thousands of miles on 500 cars anyway. But the more the merrier.
👍

This four posts sum up my thoughts exactly. I struggle to understand this obsession with including more and more cars in the game, since it's unlikely many people will drive every single one.

What's more, some cars don't really belong in the game; the Subaru 360, for example. It's slow to the extent that PD had to give it it's own race series, because it couldn't compete with anything else. Also the x2010/11 shouldn't be included either as it dominates with ease.

PD should focus on including cars that make sense in such a game, since it is pointless to bolster the game's content with cars that can't compete or have no competition.

In fact they've done it before, with GT3. I've seen a number of people here say they still enjoy GT3 the most, yet it's car tally didn't even hit the 200 mark. However all the cars in that game had a place; every car had decent competition.

It would be good to see 500 premiums, but there's no point taking away the standards, no matter how bad they look, if they're easy to implement, you know, just for completeness. If they're available, we may as well have them, right? Most of them (Duplicate Nissan GT-R's aside) are a different experience on their own. E.g I'd still want to have the option of driving a Spyker C8 or a Cadillac Cien if they never get premium treatment, because they're a fun drive.

As to what Mr. Fusion said, he's totally right about the Red Bull Race Car. It's a source of arguments, and causes most online lobbies to turn to horrific mush. However, cars like the Subaru 360 should be kept. They all have a fun persona if you will. I can guaruntee you there are lots of people who love these little trundlers, even if it feels like they are there just for comedy value.

Think we have to forget the 1000+ number of cars in GT5 since they included the stopgap Standard car solution (and a helluva lot of duplicates too) which I really hope they won't repeat and don't have to repeat with enough Premium cars representing a lot of categories and offering a wide variety and diversity.

500 Premium cars would probably be enough, but is enough enough? Ofcourse not, it never is and I think it's fair and realistic to expect at least around 600 this time (including the ones already in GT5 obviously) isn't it?
Approaching 700? Maybe, that would be a huge bonus, any more and I'm hugely impressed to be honest.
The number also depends on whether you count different versions (not nessecarily duplicates ofcourse) of the same car as well as the offical figures don't tell the whole story as usual, my estimates include those as well.

So I don't think the total number of cars will exceed the previous title as every other even numbered GT-title so far has done (they also didn't include different quality car models) but the biggest leap this time is overall high quality and consistency again regarding cars (at least I hope it is) for this gen.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the 360 as a car. Like many here I am a car enthusiast so to be honest I find something appealing in most vehicles. All I'm saying is that if a car has little to compete with, I don't see the point in it being included in the game. Still, I understand your opinion as well! :)

While I cannot exactly tell how many Premiums they'll have, I'm pretty sure that including any standard cars in GT6 would be a marketing disaster that even PD will not do...

If they managed to do 200 Premiums in 5 years (and now counting with the additional staff and slowly increased rate of development in the DLC's), I'd expect around 700 Premiums.

Of course, we don't know how PD works :dopey:

PD would be insane to even think of trying to stuff more than 1,000 into a game. Technically they didnt even get 1,000 into GT5. The standards do not count as a finished car. If anything I expect less cars in GT6. But this time all of them will be premiums. We will hopefully never see the lazy development word "standards" ever again in any racing game.

There are 1030+ cars in GT5 and that is not debatable.
GT5 used up 1/4 what a DLBY disc could hold, so saying 3,000 cars could fit is not an overstatment. I think 2,000-2,700 wouyld be reasonable.
You need to re-read my reply. GT5 is a perfect example that quantity is not better than quality. 800+ unfinished cars is 800+ unfinished cars. I do not qualify GT5 as a game with 1000 cars because only around 200+ are actually finished.

Here is an easy question. I will reply again after you answer.

"In GT5, out of 1,000+ cars, how many of those can you take to the photo travel?"

~200, but who care? How many cars in GT5 can you take pictures of? OVER 1030. Just because YOU don't consider cars in GT5 cars in GT5 doesn'y mean that cars in GT5 aren't cars in GT5. I can drive a Cadillac CIEN, and yet you say it is not car. Would you say that the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '03 is not a car? I can drive it, and it is in GT5, there for it is a car in GT5.

200+ Thats your answer of how many cars in GT5 are actually FINISHED cars.
As for taking pics of the standards, you cant get up close to a standard or you get a message saying you are too close. An unfinished car is an unfinished car. If I cant take a car to one of the features in the game, thats an unfinished and restricted feature. This is just 1 example of how the standards are restricted. There are many more restrictions.

You said that there are not 1030+ cars in GT5. That is wrong.

My guess is.... 1,200. 350 premium and 850 standards.

Sorry if my faith in PD seems a bit low. GT5 made it that way.

You said that there are not 1030+ cars in GT5. That is wrong.
Actualy you are wrong. I never said GT5 doesnt have 1030+ cars. Never ever said that. If you are going to quote someone, use their quote and dont twist their words into a lie. This is what I said.

If I even see the word "standard" in GT6, I will not buy the game. Period. A standard car is just a sign of an unfinished game.

130+ duplicates.

No, GT5 used up 19 GB of a single layer Blu Ray, and we also don't know how much of that was cars. You might as well be saying that they could fit a million billion cars on the disc for all we know about the size of the ones we already have.

This is what you said. And what you said is wrong.
Clever.

I hate PD and dont like GT5.
Thats not very nice. *yes I edited your quote to prove the point I am about to make*

Do you seriously want to twist peoples quotes? Thats borderline worthy of a report.

This is word for word what I said. Do not change or twist my replies.

What I did is quote you and get rid of the stuff I didn't need that would fill up the page. If you follow the link you will find that you did indeed say what I quoted.
What you did is fabricate a quote of words I never said, and if you follow the link you will see that that is obviusly not what I said. And you are going to report me?

I can play this game too:
Just because YOU don't consider cars in GT5 cars in GT5 does mean that cars in GT5 aren't cars in GT5.
Look. Now you are agreeing with what CAMAROBOY said. Funny how all one needs to do is purposely strip selections from what someone says and the context is completely changed. And you can't deny that you said that, because "What I did is quote you and get rid of the stuff I didn't need that would fill up the page. If you follow the link you will find that you did indeed say what I quoted."

And you are going to report me?
Yep.

Camaroboy is not saying that there are not 1030 cars in the game which you can buy and drive which is what you are trying to say he said. He was simply pointing out that he consider's only the 200+ Premiums to be complete so if you base the number of cars off of how many are 'complete' then yes there is only 200+ cars in GT5. You are both right but there has just been some word twisting on gamerdog's part.

This is simply my view on the debate, I do not intend to start or join any flame wars!

This is ridiculous.
Don't worry about it. People do worse and are still around doing the same thing you're accused of doing. You kind of weren't, but were, doing what they I guess accused you of.

Standard/premium division has to go forever, i don't care if we get 300 cars in gt6, i don't want to see PS2 content, (sounds, cars, tracks, GT mode)

Shift 2 had 150 cars, but it felt complete, car selection was good, all cars had interiors, all cars were customizable

400-550 with a wide variety and better core game.screw the 1000+ car count just bring the game back to the GT2 era but somehow make it better.
