Ive just updated to the G25 wheel and pedals. Ive been playing GT since its birth and im 35 years old LOL. Ive been playing with a pad since the beginning but never could change down and steer properley with the pad. I dont know if its the analouge pedals or the wheel but im actually faster now with with the wheel (on most tracks, eiger im still getting the hang of). I played GT4 briefly with a wheel but it wasnt force feedback and i didnt have pedals.

Had the same issue...Moved the PS3 back to the desk. I was hoping to be able to play with the G25 on the living room with a "easy to fold" solution but it didn't work out. The feedback on the G25 is so strong that you need a desk or even better a playseat. My GF didn't like the idea of the Playseat, I don't know why

first day I got it I was so excited I set it on my lap, first turn went straight into the grass and the wheel vibrated off my lap lol.

I'm using a pad, had a wheel for GT3 but it broke before I got GT4. I think its about time to get myself a new one though, probably gonna be the 'official' GT5 wheel when its released.

Just can NOT use a controller
Started with a MadCatz to play V Rally, spent most of the time correcting and over correcting the steering input which just felt terrible.
Then bought GT1 and then GT2 and a Fanatech wheel. I loved driving the Black AWD Mivec FTO and the 7 Speed Toms Supra

After GT3 arrived heard about the DFP so eventually bought one with GT4
and it was great to use when everything stayed together, but I had pedal problems. Used some of the fixes from this site but right paddle wont work now, each operation changes up 2 or 3 gears and bogs the car down. Steering often goes out of alignment too.

So with the recent arrival of PS3 and GT5P I couldn't resist getting a G25, and it is fantastic. I do like to heel tow in real life, but finding it hard to be smooth with the G25. Spent some time last night trying to blip the clutch with my left foot for gear changes while left foot braking:idea: You see the brake pedal on the G25 just goes in too much for me, it should apply max braking within the first quarter of travel like a real car does and be a lot firmer for my liking.

The G25 is however a great thing and I would recommend it.

I used a non FFB wheel back in the Nascar racing series (papyrus) and Colin Mcrae series, since then I bought the DFP shortly before GT4P came out and now I use the G25 that I bought December last year when I learnt the clutch is now functional.

Sometime I use the controller for some quick fooling around, but I will never be a full time controller racer again.

Since the first days of GT4, DFP and a custom build setup table thing. wouldn't call it a cockpit though, since it looks horrendous, but very functional.

Had other wheels before the DFP, and having used wheels for racing games for over 7 years, I would say wheels are very important to get the full experience. Besides, what's the point of driving if you are just sitting there, thumbing a pad.

This brings back memories when I got one of the first force feedback wheels (at least that I became aware of - only had 28.8K internet back then :S) out there, the Microsoft Sidewinder FF or something. Oh, how much that changed my attitude towards even mediocre racing games.

Like others, have been playing with wheels forever. Good times with the Mad Catz and GT1
Bought a DFP for GT4, and continued use with GT5 atm. Got a racing frame too, but doesn't have an extra mount for the G25's gear shifter, so in a bit of a dilema
Will reassess when GT5 gets released

it looks that everybody here is using g25 or gfp... I use pad for 1 week and then switch to wheel completely after i found my MOMO is perfectly supported by PS3! the force feedback is powerful and real, once you get the feeling you'll never want to use the pad again. I also tried the g25 in the shop but i don't think it feels any better than my MOMO, which is only 1/5 pricewise.

I played PGR2 with the X-box controller, also Rallisport Challenge 2, Colin 5 & Forza. Bought 2 wheels: used Thrustmaster ($10), Madcatz - both of which were not good enough to be worth using. Also tried Fanatec X-box wheel which was well-built but did not have real FFB.

When I got PS2 & GT4 I bought a G25 & never even started using the Dual Shock. Since then, have used the G25 with GT4, Enthusia, F1:CE & various PS3 driving demos (GTHD, GT5P, DiRT, Burnout, Pro Street, Burnout, Sega Rally Revo etc.). I will, of course, use it with GT5P & eventually PC sims.

As far as I'm concerned the G25 (& the DFP) is Sony's driving/racing game ace-in-the-hole. I think M$ made a serious error when it opted for its own (substandard) wheel - it is the main reason I decided against buying a 360, Forza 2, HD-DVD player etc. etc.

just purchased a g25, LOVE IT! i thought $250 was alot for video game accessories but DAMN! im actually a huge shooter fan, except burn out of course, but i never played many racers. i did have f1 but got rather tired of it with the pad. now iv been playing GT concept and F1 for the last two days. i cant wait for prologue now! ill have to learn how to use the shifter and clutch though, oh well, more laps=more points! GET A G25!!

logitech G25 for me. i use the pad at night when my partner's in bed (both the tv and the console in the bedroom). compared to the pad, steering wheel gives you better consistency when hitting tricky corners or chicanes. and the pad has higher learning curves. i have to admit that i only play pro physics with the steering wheel. my advise to anyone who's remotely interested in playing GT5, get a steering wheel, even if it's the cheapest logitech.
