Have the paint shop get a random assortment of colors each time you log in. While some can only be won, and others unlocked.

I would have a store just for normal paints, with a rotating section for "special" paints.

Also, crashing your car ruins the paint, therefore requiring repainting, and encouraging cleaner driving. Especially if you have a very rare paint item..

Get rid of it and give us a colour wheel to paint our car any colour at any time. As is logical and done in every other modern racing game known to man.

Making it easier to acquire large numbers of paints like just being able to buy 5 paints at a time instead of buying a car. Also wheels shouldn't use a paint chip because they are a waste of a chip right now, especially if it's a rare chip.

Have a full car preview, Purchasable manufacturer colours and rare colours as a bonus for doing seasons etc and also make them non tradeable. Oh and not forgetting a sort of special wheel powercoats such as White, Black, Chrome, Antracite e.t.c.

That's why GT5 is unique

Get rid of cheating,i mean dupeing

With that no paints are rare. Same as cars with tickets and so on.

Would be nice if that once you won a color or earn it you could use it indefinitly or even pay a small amount of cr to replenish the supply. NO TRADING!!

Then when you see a color on track you dont have, thatll make it rare to you.

The DLC has sweet colors but none of those will be rare either. Youll get them in the market place and do you think that the guy that sent them to you is going to lose them? No, hell just reload his game and have all the paint again.

Totally agree. Normal paints would cost 2000 cr. and the rare ones would cost 10,000 cr. Problem Solved. You would be able to get what paints you want when you want them. And also add a preview before you paint the car, I'm so sick of guessing what color my car will be.

Make it like a proper paint shop mixing the colors your self from unlimited basic color chips add some metallic flake,
Build up clear lacquer layers over the top till you get the deep candy shine your after,
Spend hours masking up the windows and everything you don't want to paint to lol

Playstation move as the spray gun so you can mess it all up and have to sand it down and start all over again.

Have a paintshop with basic colours always in stock. Them you have to unlock rarer paints by unlocking the paint chip. When you unlock the chip, it is permanently in the paint shop

Make acquired chips have unlimited usage.

The current one-use-per-chip system is so, so dumb.

This, plus make it a little more user friendly. A colour wheel would be nice, but its kind of cool having a Ferrari painted in Rosso Scuderia instead of just a generic red colour.. at least to me it is.

They should make it like a paint shop. You can select any paint chip in the game to paint your car with, from lists of manufacturer paints. Some paints like colour-shifts should cost more. But you can purchase it whenever you feel like.

This collecting crap is stupid, but they put it there to make you play the game more so you'll get bored and buy the DLC.

I like the idea of collecting them... but, at that point, your collecting of that colour ends, it goes into a list and can be used at any point to paint any car any number of times you want. Essentially, build your list of available colours.

I might say the gold/chrome could be 1 use only but, really, it's a weird system they have... you don't get paint matched for spraying and they destroy the reference piece when they do it.

This. I've lost count how many chips I've wasted because it didn't match the given sample.

  • The Paint Shop has a list of manufacturer colors which are a basic 750 credits to apply.
  • A limited list of special colors are available for a premium of 5,000 - 10,000 Cr.
  • Special paint chips can be earned by buying or winning cars, or completing special requirements. I like the no trading idea.
  • You can preview any paint available for free.

It's annoying isn't it? A few weeks ago I was making a Halloween-themed Challenger (orange body, purple wheels) and I labored for 15 minutes over what purple would look best on the wheels.

This is an interesting idea, but I think the limited PS3 memory might make this problematic. Maybe if could work if you have an enormous amount of damage in 1 race, then a chosen paint is peeled off to go back to the original color.

But I think there should be paint crafting. Like if you combine 10 colors, then it can be traded for 1 color you want. (Maybe much more paint cans needed to get your chosen Matte color.)

A preview would be nice. I don't mind the one-use thing so much, although ideally any colour should be selectable (for a premium).

But a simple colour wheel isn't going to cut it. You've got base colour, metallic flake / stuff, mica / pearl colour, anisotropic pearl (flip paint) with 2, 3 or 4 colours etc. You'd have to be able to set these colours, too, otherwise you're still going to be relying on presets.

Having worked with paint mixing before, I would love to be able to make any colour from a catalogue of base pigments, pearls and other "special effects", but I don't know how intuitive that would be for most people.

I'd make paint chips unlimited use and do away with this ridiculous single use nonsense, it's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever came across in a racing game.
