Found the gold pretty easy, Got a time of 1:17.704 after 6 or so tries. Unable to practice any further since my ps3 decided to die on me (YLOD). Damn you Coulthard, Damn you!
Used DS3.
 
I'm so close to gold with 1:18:xxx on a DS3, and I can definatley improve cos when I did my fastest lap I was really slow 'off the line' and every lap I do against the ghost I'm always 1.5 seconds ahead going into 1st corner, but then I can't replicate my amazing 1st 2 corners and end up behind the ghost :(. I'm going to keep going until I nail it. I love these challenges.

The way I took the first corner is, turn in before applying the brake. This way rather than understeering you'll slide a bit. So turn, then brake.
 
Having a hard time with these tires, best is 1:19.647, also, is there a prize for first place on the leaderboards or something?

I got a 1:19.1 on my first try. I remember DC did cut through the red at the Followthrough so I'm surprised that it gives us an invalid lap? Did DC get the invalid lap too and they just said "oh he's DC, it doesn't matter"?

PD manages to fail every single time they put up an event. :banghead:
 
i'm at 1.18.300 on my 4th try but I can improve in some areas. I'm currently in 251st place lol
 
I was number one for my region last I checked, 1:16.111, I'm sure 15's can be done (by me) just don't know if I have the desire to keep pushing.
It's a shame they blocked all corner cutting except missed one.

I should say "DC" cut right through where we have cones. I mean he blatantly plowed that 🤬
I was a little confused originally, how can can't go so far outside the lines at all, after some of the laps I see get recorded at this track IRL, and in most of these two wheels on the track still nets a penalty?

Thanks for the advice. Is there a best place to brake for that 1st set of corners?
Track positioning: Wide as I get to the 1st marker
Turn in to the 'apex' of the 1st corner and brake
Let myself run wide again ready for the sharper second
Throttle control between 1/2 and full throttle on the DS3 is terrible. and anything under 1/2 doesn't give me the power I want.

I'll have a look for another thread for advice after this post, so I don't clutter up the OP's topic. Thanks again
 
1.17.659 was my best try, currently ranked inside the Top 90 times.


Surprising since I usually place is the several thousands during regular time trials, but I think the fact everyone is using the same car was a big help to me.
 
I'm at 154 right now but I ran a 1.17.565 under a damn red lap.
 
I saw your time CSL, very nice. I peaked at 1:18.4XX, 3 tenths off the top 250. #315 I believe. Is that any good? I believe I might be able to hit 1:18-1:18.1, but it won't be top 250 when I do :(. If only I had my wheel.
 
I struggled to get under 1:18 at first, but then I learned pretty much where the lines are, my best on the "true" lines is only 1:16.5xx.
I just downloaded the fastest lap and chased.
 
quick question, what is everyone's steering sensitivity? Mine's 5. I have a controller.
 
I managed to get a 1'15.0xx earlier, puts me at a nice 15th overall in the PAL region, still about 4 tenths off the #1 time though, it's the Hammerhead where I seem to lose all of my time! Time was set with AS on Strong and TCS on 5.
 
Might try again with TC on 5, 1:16.7 best so far.

just went from 200th to 76th with 1.17.463

Edit: Now I'm 51st :) 1.17.254. Hopefully I can keep improving.

This is actually so addictive, must try and go into 15s tomorrow...I'll need luck.
 
I was in 171st place this morning with a 1:20.0xx. I doubt I'm even top 500 anymore though, that last corner was killing me!
 
At this moment I'm 960th with a 1:19:813 as best record, with a broken DS3 is really hard lol
