Any recommendation about how to take the first corner? That the place where I'm losing a lot of time

I dont like this Seasonal Special Event one bit, I think the SLS AMG is too powerful for Comfort/Softs plus the thing understeers like a 🤬! that's just me..... I manage to clock 1:20:2

I managed to get a 1'15.0xx earlier, puts me at a nice 15th overall in the PAL region, still about 4 tenths off the #1 time though, it's the Hammerhead where I seem to lose all of my time! Time was set with AS on Strong and TCS on 5.

For a DS3'er, that's an insane time!

Spent quite a bit of time on this one so far, you need to do the reverse trick at the start, unfortunately (reverse to cones b4 start line, gains 0.050-0.075).

The last corner I'm having difficulties braking though, not sure weather to brake from the grass and widen the apex or to avoid grass and save the tires from loosing grip.

Done about 5 sub 1'14.5's that were dirty in various, non time gaining ways, but obviously the pressure's off in that situation, but it is good to continue driving to practice/experiment, even when the time is redded.

If I start to stall at around 1'14.5/1'14.6 I'm going to turn off the AS, as I know that AS does not improve the nature of the car, just makes the steering inputs less intense to achieve similar lap times, and judging by EDDSKILLS lap time of 1'14.75x driven without AS, one might suggest that the difference is negligible at best between AS and no AS.

Whatever the case, this combo is extremely addictive:tup: And I've been inundated with friends requests and messages lol!

Update!

1:17:974 w/ DS3 TCS 5 & Active Steering on High .....

1:17.969. TC on 1, Active steering on mild, ABS 1. Done with a DS3, pretty solid lap, not sure where people are getting 1:14s from. Whatevs, gold is good enough for me with a DS3...

I just got a 1:17.978, with no aids, except ABS. There was one point, where I needed .3 seconds to get gold, and the checkpoint after hammerhead, I was .475 seconds ahead. Then I understeered going through the follow through, and hit the wall. I was mad.

The other troublesome spot for me was the second to last corner. I kept getting my breaking point wrong, so I ended up either overshooting it, or going to slow where I loose time.

1:21's yet, can't get along with anything at all. :grumpy: Just bought a DFGT, golded S.Vettel's Monza but anything other than the X2010 is still a pain to get used to. Keep trying many different combinations with TCS and all, still no progress.

I'll just download someone's ghost and give it a go later. I'm very glad to see this many running under 1:16's, really gets me pumped to keep on trying. 👍

Ran another session this time turning off AS, and it proves to be slightly faster, 1'14.520

I looked at all the top times on Monday and, as I've seen before, most of the fast drivers are using wheels and have active steering on strong. I tried this for a while and got a little quicker, but I think this was just a natural improvement, as when I switched it off I immediately gained time (still not gold standard tho)

Can anyone tell me what active steering actually does?
