I absolutely HATE the kart races.....

I really hate these kart races with every fiber of my being.. dump the kart races (as part of career mode, leave the karts in the game for people to have fun with) and put in some rally races (with real rally stages not the circuit track stuff we have now). I'm not terribly good at rally racing but at least I would have fun learning it. These karts are just frustrating using a controller.

You got my vote!

With so many rally cars in the game, we need more rally events. I don't think the kart events should be removed from the career events though, but the AI needs to be toned down. Now the kart events only add unnecessary frustration to an otherwise very fun game.

It's interesting because the general consensus seems to be that everything else is boringly easy and Kart races are the only challenge.

With you on more rally events though.

You're joking right? Karts are where most of the top drivers started out, and it's the purest form of motorsport. I know a lot of people who are into karting, and having karting in the game makes them want to buy it.

I'm happy you and some other people are into carting and I'm happy carting is available to you in GT6. And yes I realize quite a few pro drivers started in kart racing.

However I abhore the nasty litte buggers and would have preferred for them not to be a bigger part of GT6 than they were in GT 5.

crazy right? one moment its too easy the other its too hard :P

I personally don't find the kart races much harder than normal races, karts are just a lot more intense to drive.

But yeah more rally events, but i think they're waiting for the track creator to come in so we can have auto generated sprint courses.

It's only 9 races overall, and not much really! Besides, people were complaining the game was too easy, so what's wrong with having a challenge for once? Karting is possible with a controller anyway, I used to do it with a controller in GT5 before I got a wheel, and I got pretty good after some practice 👍

Although to be fair, I would prefer if PD let us race karts on all those tracks that have weather, and just disable the weather for them. It's quite annoying the some of the best tracks are not possible to drive using the karts. Even a couple of the tracks used in career mode are not possible to drive elsewhere 👎

All karting requires is a bit of practice though, you'll get the hang of it eventually, and it'll be even more rewarding when you finally win it right? For me the kart races are too easy, AI are pretty useless. They're probably the same level of drivers you get when you go to an open track day and people with no experience turn up. (Basically moving chicanes)

I'll agree that all karting needs in the GT series is some practice (just like everything in GT). I just don't care for it personally but if others like it then they can have at it and I'm glad they are happy doing so.

Now about the AI being the same as people with no experience on a track day I have to disagree. There are rules on track days about speed, passing and other minor details like not running the other drivers off the road and or spinning their cars! :ouch:

Sorry, stupid AI is a current hot issue with me.

Cannot seem to win on the smaller courses with the 100 cc, what annoys me the most is, i hit an ai, it goes on, i spin off, i go over a curve, i spin off the ai goes on.

Overhaul the engine. The extra 2 HP will make the difference you need.

I like them. They are different, so it takes a while to learn. But having them makes GT6 a bigger game with more to do.

The last shifter race at GT Arena is difficult enough to give most anyone a challenge. Challenges makes you better.

I'll tell you this, after driving the karts and doing the rain master events, I feel like I can drive anything, consistently! Those events really teach you about steering and throttle control, in my opinion, it'll make you a better driver!
I can look forward to Karts in the rain? I'm definitely purchasing the Ayrton Senna suit and helmet for those!

Just decided not to do them. Worst part of the game

I'd say they were the most frustrating part of the game (the Red Bull at Goodwood was easy in comparison...well, it was pretty easy anyway) but not the worst...that accolade belongs to the AI...wait, no, the sound....wait, no...never mind.

The Karts are pretty simple once you get the hand of them...the Shifters are a huge step up from the other karts but still doable with practice and patience. While I got extremely frustrated and annoyed with them, I did enjoy the Karts for their close combat racing (much like the Red Bull Junior events)

Fun? Sure.
Mandatory part of career mode? Give me a break.
No one buys a GT game to race karts, they buy Mario Kart for that. Keep the kart racing with the coffee break junk.
And I don't give two cents how many famous drivers started their career as kart drivers. Kart racing has as much to do with racing cars as ping pong has to do with
tennis.
I'll pass on the "mandatory fun", thanks.

Kart racing is apart of this game if you like it or not and it will be in this game for a many many years to come. Hey friend I don't like the rally events but once again it is apart of this game I just had to practise so I can get better at it and it have payed off and I am good at it now so you can do the same with kart racing.

Personally I'm not a fan of kart-racing, but I don't feel like they should exclude it from the game. Maybe they could just move them from the career into some kind of special event?

Well said sir

Anyone else struggle with these? They are such a pain. But I have to complete them to close out certain career levels. :banghead:

It's always interesting how different people has such different experiences. I do enduro karting IRL and find the karting in GT6 to be utterly boring and unbelievably easy. They are NOT simulating real Karting at all, it's purely arcade and there is zero challenge for me. I got them out of the way so I would never have to touch them again (once actually drifted off to sleep up in the middle of a kart race while listening to a book on tape... So not exactly a challenging or thrilling experience for me. Just completely borked...)

If you want to enjoy karting in GT6 then never drive a real kart...

I just hate karts I cant put it any other way, what a waste time. HORRIBLE. If only they would disappear and never return. They do not belong in this game.

God. I thought I was fairly good at Gran Turismo... bring on the Karts. Specifically the 100cc GT arena event. Fail consistently for 20 minutes (closest I got was 2nd, 1.5 seconds off.). Gave up and have not wanted to go near them since. I use a controller.

(And everyone. Unless you are brilliant at GT and use a wheel, don't listen to BanditKarter. He is one of the best racers on GTPlanet. :D)

Yeah..they replaced the F1 races with this silly gimmick cart race. I have not run 1 single Kart trace in GT6. I totally ignored them

The karts apart of this game and there should be a lot more of them in gran turismo series. And you say karts are a waste of time come on you are just to lazy to learn. And try doing this and it is not hard thing to do its called Practise.

100 and 125 kart races were really easy.
The first 125 shifter race was easy too.
I needed many attempts before I could gold the second 125 shifter race at Willow Springs.

But the last race at GT Arena... :banghead:
I give up. I came to hate the GT Arena and karts.
I tried everything : add ballast to the rear, shorten the gears to get more acceleration and lower top speed. The best I could do is 2nd place (and only once, however).

Some will talk about "Practise". Nope, I think that after 30 attempts or so for that last race (included in training mode) I can say that I am everything but lazy.

I don't know if its been stated or not yet, but changing the steering sensitivity to 7 helps. I use a DS3 and I added 5 at +50 for ballast. Also rebuilt the motor first, but did not touch the gears. I did 10 practice laps without other carts on GT arena and then gave it a go. Won on the last lap of the race.

That is the one that has stumped me too. I will get back to it as I find the karts much like the coffee break events, I will do them but I am in no rush.

I dislike the cart races and have avoided them.....they frustrate the 🤬🤬 out of me and I wish they were not part of the racing series and had a "separate" category like in GT5......

I can't stand them too. Yeah you can all come at me going "blah blah F1 drivers started out in karts", "I'm a four time karting champ didnt you know" "you obviously cant drive properly" all you want but it's not going to make me want to do them. I use a controller and I cant even do the A-licence ones (except for Autumn Ring Mini, dont get me started on the indoor arena one). I think they have a place in the game...but making them mandatory, sorry but no. I play this game to have fun and restarting the same race fifty times over when i could be doing something far more interesting just does not appeal to me., I'm just going to skip them and that's that. Come at me bro, go on, call me a n00b I dare you.
