GT3 had by far the worst soundtrack EVER.

Oh yea im new here :p ;)

btw, if this is a dupe thread, its ok. Mine is better :D

Yes , I hated the hardrock/rock/metalica music or what should I call it for. Lets hope that GT4 would have better soundtracks/music.

Well... What kind of music do you guys want to be? Techno/Trance? Hiphop?
Rock(obviously not  )? or maybe funk? :D
I prefer Trance or/and HipHop, but that is just me

Agreed, that music sucked bigtime. Next time at least a bit more variation, or else I hope they learn from the Xbox and support the PS2's harddrive for custom soundtracks.

It had Muse and Feeder, two pretty good british bands.

Don't remember the rest.

The GT4:P soundtrack sounds OK to me and has two REALLY good tracks with vocals.

It needs to have a music select utility, since the hard drive will be compatible, itll be good to be able to upload your own mp3s from PC to Hard Drive and use them in gt4.
Definetely want more GT2 style music, drum & bass and ambient tunes like GT1.

^Agree!
At least GT2 style music, drum & bass and ambient tunes like GT1.
But if you don't like the music , turn it off! So did I (in GT3) ;)

I would like to see Feeder return with some tracks!
Somehow i feel like they are a part of the game! What about, say 50% rocktracks and 50% technolike tracks!
You cant deny that phat guitars and rock dont belong with cars! Techo fits too!

cosmic, I pray to god that GT4 doesn't end up having mind numbing "banging choons". Most of us arn't ricers, who drive about in novas, I want GOOD music on GT4, think stuff like some good classic rock etc. I'm just not stupid enough to like repetative "phat beats", or what ever they are called. Gt3 did not have a "hard rock" sound track btw, it had DIRE music, bad feeder songs etc. Bring back the GT1 sound track style, that was PERFECT for gt.

dance/ techno is to music, what the chuckle brother are to comedy.

I really liked the menu music in GT2. It was kind of jazzy. One particular song sounded like it was lifted straight from David Letterman or some other late night show. I don't listen to music while I'm racing though, so I really don't care what the soundtrack is like in that regard.

Shut up, just shut up. Your stereotypes suck.

STFU Buttesh! I understand code_kev and everybody else who doesn't agree with me/others. Everybody can't like the same music genre !

Everyone has different music taste.
Many say that classical music is the best driving music. But personaly I would have gone crazy if it was classical music in GT4.

Read and comprehend my post. I can understand that, too - Did you see me mention anything about genre's of music and the opinion of others?

well.. you told code_kev to shut up when he said what kind of music he wanted to be in gt4, or did I just misunderstand?

Ahh...never mind

TBH my post was abit harsh, it's just that I live next door to an idiot, a 20+ year old loser who lives with his parents who feels the need to grace our ears with hard house dance music, with what sounds like a smurf singing over the top, VERY VERY loud, and for about 14 hours a day. It's enough to drive anyone to hate dance lol

Well, sorry - I was trying to target it at his stereotypes that "Nova driving ricers" listened to "mind numbing banging choons" and such. Should'a made that clearer.

But on the subject, I don't drive a nova, nor do I listen primarily to "Mind numbing banging choons", I don't listen mainly to any genre. But whatever they put in, I'll be happy to listen to it. GT3 had a nice selection as far as I'm concerned, aslong as they give just a little more selection I'll be OK, and with PD seemingly super sizing GT4 in car's and tracks, I see no reason why they shouldn't make the music selection pretty large. Infact, they're going to need to add alot of music to balance things out otherwise it'll be way too repetetive in the huge game it seems to be.

I agree with code_dev. If GT4 is like GT1, it will be great. Although, not all dance/trance/techno/house/whatever music is bad, I can understand how code_rev has a bias for the genre.

It's funny how these idiots above are the same ones who want 'drifting', 'lAbm0gENys', 'feRaRYeS', and every car that came with the B16 engine in GT4.

hehe. Shame that Nova's have had their image killed my the max power crew. I just get annoyed with it since I quite like Vauxhalls ;)

http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums - A fair few nice Nova's there. Mainly totally standard aesthetically, but with Cavalier/Calibra C20LET/C20XE turbo/NA engines capable of wasting most things about. Good example: http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=127993

0-60: 5.5-6 seconds (estimate)
Top Speed: 140mph (run out of gears)
Output: 220bhp/230ft-lb (estimate)

:D

GT1 definitely had the best music IMO.

I really hated the GT2 and GT3 menu music...or should that be muzak...? Hopefully we will see a return to the all round classy rock/techno mixture that we had in GT1.

:)

GT2's music was the worst.

Super bon bon, super bon bon, super bon bon...

Super bon bon is a good song. It's probably one of Soul Coughing's worst song, but it's still a goody.

I don't care what type of music they have, as long as it can be classified as 'good'.

GT2 had the best music in the series. Sex Type Thing, Super Bon Bon, My Favorite Game. The fact that I remember this after not playing the game in well over a year says that the soundtrack was actually pretty good for a video game.

Definatley better tracks in GT4 is a must. I would like to hear some Ozzy, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith and those older bands. And being a big time lover of stoner music, i could really see myself crusing around nuringburg listening to some SUBLIME:bowdown:

I liked the rock tracks on GT3. Racing games tend to use only techno music and I usually switch it off when playing to leave only the effects. I think GT3 was the first game that I played with the music on.
Despite what some people seem to think, GT3 didn't only feature rock : first thing I did was to move Grand Theft Audio, Ash and Feeder tracks up and silent Daiki_something and Overseer tracks so that they are never chosen in the random selection.
I hope GT4 will feature a good variety of music types. I personally would only switch the Metallica / Slayer / Danzig -like on, but I don't mind if it means I'm only listening to 5% of the track list. Techno fans should be able to play the same game while listening to the kind of music they like... as long as it doesn't mean I have to listen to it...

Ok, Gran Turismo is a sim right? So there should be no music what soever when racing...maybe on the menu but not when racing. Does Montoya or [insert driver here] drive around and 200 listening to their mp3 player or discman blasting led zeppelin or some techno or whatever you choose? I doubt it. If your a true hard core racing fan the cars tires and engine and any other sound thats heard racing is your music

I agree to some degree that the music in GT3 was not brilliant but i must say that bands like feeder were quite good. I recon that there were to many "not well known" artists and not enought major recognised bands. Also more tracks were really needed as you would probably play this game for a long time.....in the end i was fedup with the music and played my own! GT4 needs more variety and more music tracks, games that use the EA TRAX music are usually good mixes (NFS HP2, NFS U) but i think Sony will mostly be limited to its own music labels (sony music artists). I wish you could upload your own music like the Xbox...... :(
