Got my baby today, updated and playing as we speak. Comming from a MS-wheel i feel that the difference is HUGE. As i didn't know what to expect, it threw me off guard at first. But after a couple of laps I started noticed that my driving seems much smoother and my times were getting better. I'm already starting to catch up on my ghosts. Man the strenght of this wheel blows me away.

the wheel is awesome :) at first i tried it with out the update, it was still better than the GT2 but had a lot of problems. After the update the will is amazing, i never updated my GT2 and dont really know what the firmware is, but there is a world of difference. Forza for after the patch was really hard to control the car with the GT2 i felt like i was losing control at almost every corner and had a lot of trouble trying to counter steer. With this wheel there are no issues :) Forza has never felt so good.

heres my set up

I had to register because I can post in this topic.

I've received my Elite :)
The wheel is feeling good, to bad I can't drive it due to CSP problems,,

Got mine yesterday, loving it in everything except Forza 4, the game it was 'designed' for, lol... The lack of FFB in TDC is really frustrating!

GT5, iRacing, Dirt 3 and F1 2011 all great though :-)

I've had the wheel since Thursday

The wheel is great in every aspect except one thing... the rim does feel kind of cheap. I don't really like that powdery texture. I thought it would feel more rubbery like the momo black. (never tried the t500)

Hopefully there is enough demand to bring a bmw like rim over.

Says the guy who just a couple of months ago didn't care about having extra rims available :).

I'm still waiting to see what extra rims they bring to the market before I spend any money on that wheel. The base itself and everything it entails is shaping up to be one of the best if not the best on the market.

I didn't say that. I said I wanted lots of rims. I said there is a market for people who don't care about extra rims. I have 6 wheels at this point and you think I am the kind of person that doesn't care about rims.

The use of hypothetical is a little much for you isn't it.

6 Wheels huh. I guess you are looking for me to go out and get you a trophy.

Just got my CSR-E all setup on my Obutto rig and updated FW and FM4 servers are down for maint - LOL

Ran a few quick laps in my tuned BMW Z4 GT3 and the wheel is so SMOOTH and precise and I am noticing lots of new subtle FFB effect that are so cool - it's like a whole new game ! (replaced PWTS)

Looking good Raudi! :)

Just wondering to you also have a small tick in the corners in Forza 4, mostly when changing directions?

That's what i have with my CSR Elite, i haven't got it in GT5 or any other game on the PC.

I currently have playseat evolution and logitech G27 for playing GT5. I was a big fan of the Forza series and used to own the old Microsoft wireless wheel. Now that I just picked up Forza 4 LCE from best buy yesterday I'm ready to play.

Just ordered the CSR elite wheel and pedals today so I can do some cross platform racing. Let the wait begin

This arrived yesterday evening and I haven't had a chance to set it up yet. I've got to change out my pedals as well as the steering wheel but before I do that I'm running a more few races with the Thrustmaster T500 RS so I can compare the two wheels/pedals setup.

There appears to be a few of us over at f-wheel forums having audio issues with the CSR-E let me know how you others with new wheels get on.

Thanks

Just finished loading the 715 firmware! I will be mounting the wheel to my current setup as seen below and selling my beloved g27 set to my buddy. Hopefully ms santa brings me some CSP!!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm trying to update my firmware and I keep getting the same error when I try to install the driver utilizing the updater:

"Fanatec Update Port Driver Pre Install Failed"

That's as far as I can get, the 'start' button stays greyed out and I can go no further.

System is Windows 7, 64 bit. Is there a way to manually install the driver?

Ok, not sure why the updater would not work on my 64 bit system so I tried using another computer (32 bit) and the updater worked just fine, firmware has been updated to 715.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to set it up on my rig but one thing I noticed right away was the cheap feel of the steering wheel, especially when compared to the T500 RS. This may not be noticeably once I get to put the wheel to use but it is definetly noticeable now.

nice setup shelbyz4u2nv 👍 post pics when you get it mounted. i also noticed you drinking and driving lol this is the only it is ok to do so 👍

Yeah my audio output seems like it is not working. Although I am even less sure of the equipment I am trying use with it so I am not sure yet if it is my equipment or a problem with the audio output on the elite. I am using 715 FW.

I just received my CSRE and clubsport pedals. Will try to update firmware on the wheel later, but I noticed on the Fanatec web site that updated firmware is available for the clubsport pedals. Does anyone know if it's necessary to update the pedal firmware?

The firmware is only to tweak brake deadzone and modify potentiometer range. If you like yours out of the box skip the update.

Hello, why oh why wouldnt fanatec include instructions with their $50 inversion kit? does anyone have a link to the manual or video tutorial? a google search brought up a video about how to do this and it was from darren at isr. when i tryed to open it i got an error saying deleted by user - thanks daren

Probably Darin's video was supposed to be the manual, as video is better than text or some pictures, but I guess their relationship is like it is at the moment and maybe that is why Darin removed the video. Who knows.

Yup Darin was the only one with a video up so far...you can try to do it your self it is pretty simple, just make sure to remember which wires go where when disconnected them from the pcb board. But if your really worried about messing something up maybe try messaging Mr. Latte for more help as he probaly has pictures from taking it apart already.
