Probably Darin's video was supposed to be the manual, as video is better than text or some pictures, but I guess their relationship is like it is at the moment and maybe that is why Darin removed the video. Who knows.

If he was contracting for Fanatec... wouldn't that make it a Fanatec video? That is really not cool.

On a different note a package from Fanatec came today. I had a lump of excitement in my stomach... for nothing. It was the CSR shifter set that was ordered with my CSRE... BBOOOOOoooooo........

I think I'm gonna have to go ninja and sneak in to customs and steal my property.

Just finished loading the 715 firmware! I will be mounting the wheel to my current setup as seen below and selling my beloved g27 set to my buddy. Hopefully ms santa brings me some CSP!!

I notice you have a Playseat and a G27. That is the same set up I had. I just received my CSR-E and CSR-E Peddle set. It was a pretty big project to get the Fanatec equipment mounted on the Playseat.

Neither the peddles or the wheels are designed to fit the Playseat in fact the method of mounting the G27 is just about opposite of how the Fanatec equipment is mounted. I used a piece of plywood to mount the peddles and disassembled the wheel plate on the Playseat and drilled holes into the interior steel plate and used the included Fanatec screws to connect the bracket to the wheel.

The end result is fine but it was a lot bigger job then I had expected and required a saw, and a high power electric drill and bits.

Yeah my audio output seems like it is not working. Although I am even less sure of the equipment I am trying use with it so I am not sure yet if it is my equipment or a problem with the audio output on the elite. I am using 715 FW.

I tested the Xbox 360 audio jack on my CSR-E tonight. It worked just fine. I did find that the included extension cable didn't fit very securely in the wheel. I bet it would work loose very quickly, especially with all the feedback effects. When I plugged the headset directly into the wheel it locked firmly into place.

Hmm, strange... I had zero issues mounting the wheel to the playseat. No drilling was required, bolted right up with their supplied angle bracket and screws. I also have mounted my buddies CSP's a few weeks ago to my rig without issues as well, we just needed a few washers and different bolts i had laying around in the garage...

Still havent been able to use the wheel, UPS said my g27 cable adapter was supposed to be devliverd yesterday night, and the guy mever dropped it off :grumpy: UPS delivery says its still on the truck.... suspense is killing me! It really is a beautiful piece of hardware, speachless

Bolting it up to my new "Revolution" playseat was a little more tricky because the wheel plate is no longer just a flat piece of metal but a plastic metal sandwich with a large brace under it. But after a little trial and error got it right where I wanted it. The adjustable angle pedal plate mounts the clubsport pedals right down the center line of the seat. Since I don't use the clutch I wanted the center line of the pedals to be between the gas and brake so I had to make some metal strips bolted to the plate to move the clubsports around 2 1/2 inches to the left. With the three 42 inch plasma screens the setup is almost lifelike.

Hey OR,

Can you please measure the total width of your multi-monitor setup?

I would like to know the actual point of width on the widest point of two bezels of your 42" screens under this degree you're hosting.

Thanx in advance, I would prefer metric, but imperial will do :)

Great setup BTW, but you already know that ;)

It's 81 inches across the screens that are at a 60 degree angle from the front screen. From the front screen to the back of the seat is 67 inches.

Olderacer, thanks for making my setup look like trash LOL 👍 Cant wait to get the room to do that! What are the model # on the screens?

Very nice setup OldRacer 1944

A tripple screen setup like that realy deserves a CSR Elite.

OK so ive been waiting for the g27 pedal adapter cable for my elite... UPS said it would be at my house thursday night as it was on the truck for delivery...thursday night it didnt come, i was a little upset. UPS truck came again tonight, droped off another package and not my cable, i ran out to the ups guy, asked him what the deal was and showed him my tracking number and status. He said it wasnt on the truck and is probably lost :yuck::yuck::yuck: I am pretty upset, took off work on Monday to play all day when the fiance wont be home. LOL figures ahhhh... I don't want to sound like a spoiled brat but i sure hope she got me the Club sport pedals for Christmas, i haven't felt this way since i was a kid haha!

So now ill just stare at it and pretend im playing...

Have a good holiday everyone!

How do you like the Forza 4 playseat? I'm wanting to change from my old evolution model

I had the "Evolution" playseat first and never liked the center post or the angle of the pedal plate so I took it to welder friend and lessened the angle of the pedal plate and moved the post closer to me so I had more room to move my feet. Ended up realizing that using the clutch was not going to happen because I couldn't switch to right foot braking so the center post was not really an issue. Saw the new model and knew someone that wanted my Evloution so I sold it. I like the new model. The seat is more comfortable and you can adjust the contour with padding behind the standard seat. Not crazy about the angle of the center steering wheel post because to get the wheel far enough away from me it was a little high. Shimmed the post to lower it and it works. All in all it's a good setup and happy with the purchase.

I wonder just how hard it might be to transplant the current rim?

Too big of a job Im afraid.
The reason is mainly more because of the mold holding the PCB and even the rumble motors. It is possible but would need a serious amount of modding and a wheel rim that would also be suitable.

I havnt been on much lately (bad cold) but it seems the "Rim" is getting a lot of pretty harsh criticisim, particulary on GT Planet. People uploading flex videos pushing the rim in ways you do not push it when driving is just I feel highlighting something to be worse and isn't really such a problem, is it owners?

Does the wheel have a degree of flex, yes it does however someone should do the same test on a T500RS rim (this wheels closest priced rival). It too has a degree of flex if pushed/pulled in ways you shouldnt really be using while playing.

The T500RS rim certainly isnt any better than the CSR Elite, personally I don't even like the T500RS as much but it is clear to see that most consumers would of liked a bit more of a real wheel on the CSR Elite.

If anything perhaps it all goes back to people being spoilt seeing the CSW expecting/wanting the CSW type rims on the Elite. These people have to realise such rims are going to be pretty expensive rims on their own. Most of the money in the CSR Elite is with the new chassis.

It is however I think a mistake on Fanatec's part to run with a similar wheel rim on the CSR Elite as the standard CSR. My own report mentions a personal reflection I have had in that the CSR Elite rim should have been the CSR rim. Both kinda fall a little short, the CSR for the plastic finish is not upto the Porsche models we were used to in the past.

Is it bad though, certainly not and it is a rim that you grow to like more and adapt to with time. The main issue is that the rim doesnt quite match upto the quality of the chassis.

Come next year I will be doing personally what I can within the community to get Fanatec to take on board what the "community" want in a new rim and what level of pricepoint they should consider. They do and will listen to the community, the very reason they added the idea of future rims during Gamescom in the autumn.

@ Latte

Have you released your review yet? I'm a bit disappointed right now by the shipping logistics. I ordered on Nov 16th and will not have my wheel by tomorrow, and from what it looks like, next week will be out also. I have 2 days off and was hoping to use them all on racing and specifically using the CSRE.... I'm a sad panda.

I think the rim is plenty stiff. You will not be flexing the rim like that when using the wheel for it's normal intended purpose. However, I do agree with everyone's assessment that the rim material not that good to hold. I would have preferred if it was all alcantara.

I don't see a reason to complain about its wheel rim. Take it this way. CSW should cost 450 while CSR E should cost 500. Comparing the prices of GT3RS and GT2, we see that the difference is about 70. They are both basically the same. So this kind of price difference is probably mostly down to XBox compatibility. If you take this xbox compatibility away, CSR E may be cheaper than CSW. It's probably down to a reason that CSW has a bit more advanced electronics. So if CSR E wouldn't have XBox compatibility and CSW a bit more advanced electronics, wheels should cost roughly the same but with the exception that CSR E comes with the wheel rim, so if you look at it this way, the CSW is either overpriced or CSR E wheel rim doesn't theoretically cost a thing for a user. It of course may not be 100% true, but I think there is some true logic in it.
I hope you understand what I meant with this long story.

Come on guys upload more pics of your setups!!! :dopey: I love the pics here guys

But @OlderRacer 1944, can you tell me which prototype (LMP) you are driving in that pic??? I just started playing FM 4 and am learning all the cars. It looks like my beloved Acura ARX. I am not sure??? Anyone knows? Sorry for OT question yall can just ignore me lol

Can someone please send me or give me a link to the 717fw. I know it's not supposed to work well with the PS3 but I'm only playing Forza4 and I want the best firmware available for that game right now.

I know I have a low post count but I'm a stand up guy and can corner low :).

I was looking for a someone to be nice and send me the beta form of it. Yes I'm a big boy and take responsibility if my wheel catches fire and explodes due to using firmware not released by the fanatec site.

You already have the best firmware for fm4. I'm playing it just like you with fw715. It works just fine. I am sure the new firmware will improve things when Thomas is ready for it to hit the public. But til then adapt to 715.

Clearly you haven't heard from my sister cousins best friends uncle that fw717 is the bees knees for Forza 4. If you're not part of the solution....

Just sit back and let us low post counts handle this

I have access to it; but it was pulled from a reason. Why not go to the source and follow proper channels (Fanatec) instead of asking testers to share the new revision with you? If Thomas wanted for you to have access to it; you'd have it

Again if you're not part of the solution...

Thomas just doesn't realize that it was a waste of time to send it to you when clearly I would have been the better choice.

Jealous and impatient trolls... good comes to those who wait. ;)
