Initail D video games

I know this is going to sound pretty dumb, but have they been released in the US? And if not, how can I get a copy, and how could I play it on my ps2?

well theres an import ps1 game (very bad unless you would just die if you didnt own it)

+++ and theres a good gameboy advance game (highly addictive!) also import but that doesnt matter on gba games anyway. (cross compatible with all types)

initial d for ps2 is not worth the cash, put your efforts into the 2 player arcade version.

Don't goto the arcade much, to far, no job, no money, so it doesn't work out. If I were to get the Initial D video game for PS2, how would I get it? And how would I be able to play it on my PS2?

I liked the Initial D special stage for ps2! actually, I love it! it's way better than the arcade, and there's lots more than you can do

and it costs less than going to the arcade as well!

Special Stage is a decent enough arcade racer. The upgrade system is fun and the story mode is probably quite cool if you're a fan of the Anime/Manga. But it does lack a 2 player mode, if they had put a 2 player even Ilink (So it would be like the arcade) it would have been so much cooler.

I'm still a n00b at the arcade game though, they have version 1 and i've only just beaten Usui (is it Usui?, well the second course anyway) in my S13. But racing against someone else is just so fun.

where i go for the initial D game (in a movie theater in a mall) the is too many ppl who wants to play the game so you wait FOREVER plus i live in canada so we get ripped off on the game tokens to play (its like 4 or 6 [bout a buck/ buck and a half])

I want to get special stage, but I dont know where I could get and play it on my PS2. I am a fan of the manga and the anime. I have both the dvd's of initial D, and I have up to book 9 in the manga. Would I need to get a mod chip to play it on my PS2? Would it bet worth it to get the mod chip? I've heard that the chip makes it so you can't play newer games. Is this true?

Initial D: SS isnt (and may never be) out in the US........ only import

it is worth the cash if your into it. try going to play-asia.com or yesasia.com if you want a copy........ IDK about the rules on MOD info so i just going to say modchipstore.com

mod chips? using one right now.
this is how it works:
An american Ps2 requires an authorization code from the game to bootup, games NOT made for the US dont have this code, cant play'em. now the chip will modify the startup sequence of the unit. first the DVD drive will spin the disc at a faster rate than readable. during this brief second, the chip inputs the US code for you. after resuming regular speed the games program starts up like it should and your on the way to playing imports.

all i know the chip in use is called "morpheus" and i had it professionaly installed. should be no more than $50
this still plays all the american games/ even eurogames / asian games / bootlegs / and the newest releases. it does not play the original Japanese ps1 games. :( classic bushido where are you?

Actually I got a copy of Initial D Special Stage off this guy on ebay for around 20 bucks. It worked fine, but i have a swap mod chip on my ps2.:D

20 bucks! wow,as a new realease it was 6800Y, about 65 USD. it got one the top20 games list and then dropped, alot. kaidou made it too,

peace

Hey! The PS1 game rules!

Because it has Papa's 190E (from the manga) (also the car I drive IRL) as a secret car, and it's the best car in the game!

I'm in America and just the other day I saw a Best Buy ad showing off an Initial D game, couldn't tell what it was called, I think it was in PC Gamer, go check there in the PC Games section, I haven't checked yet but I plan to.

Yeah, i got the Swap magic/ slide card combo pack....it works perfectally... if the only import game you want to play initial D, get the slide card. MOD chips are just too much of a hassel for one game. yet the slide card can really muck your PS2 up if your too ruff with it. and the alternate to damaging your tray motor (if your just too darn ruff) is a flip-top. i used to have a link to the site, but my all links got erased :( :( :(
