1pm Eastern on Sundays? It seems all the best leagues are at times when I can't race. I can do pretty much any night, but it's got to be at least 9pm (after the kids are in bed).

I'm the same. I would really like to do a league but need it to be around 10pm est or so any day.

Well, I'm guessing that as GlacierTV is an Finnish(?) company, they won't change it to a time that suits the US, otherwise it will be the early hours of the morning there. (3am I think?) And then it wouldn't suit many Europeans either.

Yeah on the road side there are way more Europeans that road race compared to Americans so all the big official splits and road leagues run right in the middle of the day/afternoon our time because of the time change. Been that way ever since Ive been on iracing for over a year now.

One thing I hate about iRacing. How the race times are so far apart. That's 2 races that I've been in the lead and basically binned it in the first few laps because I haven't warmed up properly. Ideally I would have liked to race at 9pm in the GT Challenge so I could practice before hand without rushing to make the 8pm one, as I can't make the 10pm one. Just to rub it in the content changes tomorrow and one track I bought last year no longer runs in any season I have a car for = I don't get to race much!

You could always go back and race the lower class series that you do have the tracks for. I don't like the MX-5, so I don't race it, but I'm envious of the people who do actually enjoy it because they get hourly racing that is almost guaranteed to have multiple splits at any hour of the day, all with free content.

Yeah. Content can get expensive. I guess if you have 1 certain series that's your goal, you can get there fairly cheap. I've bought 6 items 3 times so far. I'm doing ok on road courses now. I think I could run at least 8 weeks in every road series this season, but only have enough tracks to run 8 weeks in 1 oval series (outside of the rookie stuff of course). I think about 2 more 6x purchases and I'll be sitting good. It should be a lot less painful after that. But that's what... about $350 total?

Edit: I actually made a spreadsheet to show how many series each of the tracks that I don't own are used in. That way I don't end up buying a track that's only used in 1 series (like The Milwaukee Mile).

I need to buy 6 pieces of content to run a full Grand-Am season. Are the same tracks used in season 2,3 & 4. Of a year. So say Interlagos is in this season, will it be in it for the rest of the year?

More often than not yes. They are in a different order most of the time though. But I wouldn't be surprised if the calender changed if a new track came out, like Montreal for example.

Ok thanks. Will help with the costs. 👍

Oh boy, the iRacing forums are alive with whining again. Seems like every week there is a new "end of the world" or "it's an arcade game now!" scenario. I wish people would just stop complaining about every little thing and just play the game.

Fixed set up or not is "every little thing", if they made the series I run into a fixed setup I would stop race the same day. And after reading 5 of those 6 pages (got bored of it) I found the points more valid by the people wanted open setups.

But you go ahead and get your race going, wont be in it if its fixed or not.. It's that left turn thing I don't really care about ;)

I guess iRacing staff sort of listened. People have wanted a long season like this for a long time but they always had a discussion over fixed vs open. iRacing should give tips for people who can't setup their car properly. All I see is a bunch of faster guys who can setup cars wanting to crush the living 🤬 out of anyone who can't setup their car properly. People need top be taught so they can learn. No person is going to sleep one night and the next day know how to magically make a good setup. That is my thoughts on that topic.

Hey guys. Back from India!

Just been reading through what I've missed and I guess I am going to have to check the motion cockpit view and make the vision a proper view.

Well, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube, and there is also threads in the iRacing forums (FW31 Forum for example) on how to setup the cars, even tutorials for beginners. It just takes some searching and there are plenty of unofficial tutorials on the forums and YouTube.

But what you have to remember is that most of the people began in the same situation as you. They just fiddled with different things and did a whole lot of laps and then hey bingo, they are good at setups.

Not mine

Matt Orr I'm guessing?

That guy does some pretty good videos. :)

Have you tried the new Ford GT?? Participation is at an all time high!!

Yes, the latest build updated a few cars physics including the Ford GT, it was always too squirrely to handle worth a darn, that is up until now.

Great video Mac, who made it? As usual a lot of crashes towards the end. :)

Yeah, I've driven it since the update and thought that it was much worse to drive than before. Maybe I just need to give it a little bit more time?

That may be due to the setup, or just due to you being accustomed to the car the way it was.

Anyone here any good in the Star Mazda? All I can hit is a 1:44.001 best run on low fuel.

Grab some sets from the forums, some guys post thier replays in the forums too so grab one of those to learn what they are doing.
If you ran at Spa this season that setup should work fine too, I was using my Spa set last night and felt pretty good.

Didn't have the car before Spa, had it for Okayama Short and Watkins Glen.

Took some setups from the forums and watched a few laps live and the replays of 1:40/1.xxx and just can't get near the grip they do. Turn 5 and 9 always get the rear round on me. Every other turn I either go in too hot or too cold and can't find consistency until today where I went Purple everywhere and got my best to a 1:44.001 and Optimal to a 1:43.2xx.

It's just ridiculous, I was 3s off pace at Okayama too.

I believe the top guys will run high DF for thier Qualy runs then take wing out for the races.
1'40's probably wont be too easy to reach for you second week in the car, just keep practicing and you'll get faster and faster.
From memory I was running 28/28 wings last night and got a 1'41.6 on race gas (without draft). I have work to do if I want to see 1'40's too.

I found the same thing. The set I grabbed from a fast guy for Spa worked great here. My wings are set at 28/28, which was good on the long straight.

If you anyone wants it I'll post a link to it later.

I haven't driven Watkins in a fast car until now, and I must admit that I like it a lot. The chute is a real nail biter every lap. It's easy to go in too hot and lose the back end because the rear seems to get light.

I understand what you mean but 4s off the pace is hard to take.

Not essentially looking for a set, more so how to help improve on one.

If I change the FOV on one car, will that change effect all my cars? Or just the one?
