I purchased 3 months for the price of one. I do have to say that even with the package you get when signing up there is a lot of racing to do. I'm having an outright blast with the nvidia cup at Okayama and at the Lanier oval

I admit I'm more of a road racer but I have really enjoyed oval racing it's almost to the point where I enjoy it more.

All this racing, time trial, qualify runs is a blast. I'm not even close to bring bored of just the starting pack. I can also say this is the best online racing I've ever seen as well.

did 2 races yesterday in the F1 series.
started 25th in the first and was up to 5th after 6 laps..
no i'm not THAT good :)
i blasted through smoke in almost every corner due to people running off or simply crashed into each other.

at lap 12 i tried to correct the car on full throttle out of bus stop and hit the wall despite a guy who checked my telemetry lap saying i had unnatural throttle smoothness :)
should have just let of the gas instead...

Second race i started 18th i think. Mayhem in T1. Got past that until the upphill at Eau Rouge. The guy infront did not know Eau Rouge turned right after the downhill left and then after the hill came over the road like a missile so i had to swerve right, off track where i lost the car in 300km/h....

Pisses me off people don't try and learn the car before joining a race. or atleast know which way the road goes...

it was even worse then rookie class.

The worst part is you need around 3500ir to even have a chance at joining the top split.

wats up fellas,

so i bought that 99 dollar a year package where it gives me 30 dollars in iracing credits on june 2nd.

What do you guys suggest i should buy with 30 dolllars? I did already buy the Corvette and the Jetta TDI long time ago.

I was thinking on getting the Ford Mustang and perhaps a new track.

What do u guys say?

chris

depends on what you like :)
i would not buy half the cars i have today if i knew then what i know now.

FW31! just to feel the power :)
Lotus is tricky as hell but my god what an experience, it's so raw and the noise it makes is insane. they used to have the rpm limit removed aswell!

otherwise, radical, star mazda, riley but seriously, F1 is a beast!

Cars i don´t need much. Most i use the Skip and the Pony. But i still have to buy 9 tracks, there is my focus up. Look which series you want race next, and buy the tracks you need. :)

I was so lucky in the FW31 this week. No good pace (and even worse with fps drops) but finished 4th in top split in 17:15 GMT race for 237 points.

I believe I was in that same race and I got 5th

Well folks, here's the update on the competition: I didn't win. As usual when it comes to competitions, I either am too late or just have no chance :indiff:

I bought the Jetta today and doing the Grand Touring Cup. Nice car, easy to drive and had good online battles so far. 👍

Well, I'm going to be spending 75 bones today on 6 tracks. So tempted to finish out the FW31 season since I'm doing well in points. Lol

its a fun little car isnt it :P i bought that car last year but so far didnt do any races, just free runs.

I checked today if i could run the grand touring cup but there were only 2 races scheduled for like 2:30 am (1:30am GMT) and no body was registered.

Maybe there will be someone online tomorrow.

A good tip is to check the specified car forums. Usually you find out what times people race and the bigger SOF races.

FW31 at Waktins now. 19.5 and slow as hell :) Amazing how fast some people are, i´m used to being 1 second of pace compared to WR holder but now it´s 2 seconds or more ;)
Pisses me off! :D

Just entered my first Formula Fun race, hope it goes smooth!

That didn't go smooth at all!! After doing a 15+ lap clean stint I went and wrecked the car on my 3rd lap, plus there were only 2 of us registered and it wasn't much of a race. Gonna need some more time on that car before I can race for real!

The FW31 is a car that you have to be extremely patient with. Its all about being consistent with your throttle and steering input. That's what i've found at least.

Yup! That's right, the long run I did before the race was all that! Consistency all the way! Managed a best lap of 1:22.xxx on Zandavoolt and consistent on the 23.xxx.

Hey Hampus. Not really sure what sort of times your doing around the Glen. But i'm running 1:22.1's consistently in race trim. You're usually a second faster than me. What sort of times are you at?

Please tell me you are talking about the F1 car, please!!

I don´t know really, haven´t started doing runs in the race setup just yet :)
I still haven´t gotten down that perfect lap so i just want to see if i can hit 18´s before i switch over to the race setup. Will let you know though!

Just checked the rankings,
A friend of mine is ranked 20 of 326 with a time of 1:18.648
I´m ranked at 62 of 326 with a time of 1:19.556
Strangely enough, Niemenen(alien) is ranked 3 places below me :) But maybe it´s his little daughter trying the game out or something ;)
And Shinya Michimi ranked 170 of 326 with a time of 1:21.166

As you can see, nobody is really fast here, especially considering the World Record is 1:17.423... That´s more then a full second from position 1-20

Sorry for the double post but is been several hours since i made the above post, hope it´s ok ;)

Well Shinya, i did a racefuel run now, 73kg to start with and first lap that counted was a 23 then after 5-6 laps i was down to 21´s so i´m expecting 20´s at the end of a stint, possibly even very high 19´s.

did a new Qualifying run and for some reason i´m not consistent enough to get below 19.5´s
As you can see from the clip below, i do some pretty substantial mistakes like T1 and last turn which i misses by a mile and losing the rear in the uphill turn.
I think 18.9´s is possible if i just get more consistent and maybe not drink 12 beers the day before like yesterday :P

Anyway, here´s a horrible lap that might help, i don´t know. 19.580 i think.

Yeah I was running low 22's with 20 laps of fuel. Got down to that 21.1 with 14 laps of fuel left. So I think my race pace isn't too bad. Hopefully my Fanatec Steering wheel comes before next Tuesday so I can start a new track with a new wheel. It shipped out Monday. No more Driving Force Pro, 180 degree wheel rotation, and no force feedback for me! So excited lol.

Low 21´s with 14 laps of fuel sounds very good indeed, alot better then me :)
Maybe we will have a close fight aswell :P

Fanatec wheels are very nice indeed, i went from Logitech, Fanatec to thrustmaster and it´s been great.

Interlagos has been put on hold due to customs :(

Do you like your thrustmaster more than your Fanatec? I got the 911 gt3 RS v2 for 360 with Clubsport pedals, alu shifters, and shifter set. I didn't want to spend 500 on a steering wheel.

I should be practicing tonight when I get home from work.

Well it´s day and night basically ;)
Thrustmaster is so far ahead of the game it´s scary. For me i felt only the wheel was worth the money, pedals was a bonus sort of.

But i still run the CSP´s though, i just love those pedals.

Does anyone have noob settings for the Skip 2000? Spinning while going 20mph is getting old. :ouch:
I've never had this much trouble getting a handle on a car, and it's 150hp! What gives?

That car is tricky at first, try giving it throttle while it is starting to oversteer, the throttle makes it understeer. Try entering the corner at the minimum speed and accelerating thourghout it only making minor adjustments
