so finally received the 30 dollar iracing credits. Will be buying stuff today. Im really this close on getting the Ford Mustang GT, but dont know what tracks yet...

That's really good. Much faster than real life times. With the radial tires that they have in iRacing you SHOULD only be able to run 41.2's BUT... iRacings ridiculous slip angle for that car makes it too fast.

bought the mustang and watkins glen and had my first race in the stang at summit point with the stock setup, did a 1.21.8** finished 5th out of 11. the others were pretty shocked :P
 
Just had my first ever iRacing win. nVidia cup at Lime Rock, took pole, led to the finish. Very happy :)
 
So I buy the F1 for Formula fun but turns out you earn no championship points or anything... I take it rookies dont earn anything when they use an F1 in the Formula fun events

I really wish they had more interesting cars down at the rookie level...
 
Is it usually so dead during the day? I havn't seen more than 3 people in Formula fun and no one in the InsideSimRacin.tv challenge,..
 
WOW i absolutely love the ford mustang GT! Summit point fastest so far for me is 1.21.1*** just after 2 races!

This car suits my driving style perfectly, a little loose at the end and you have to steer the car with the trottle! im in love!

Throttle is most of the steering in sports cars.
 
Summit is a real nice place for sure :)
Did 2-3 races there some time ago.
1.20.8 in race as best and 1.20.5 PB. Could probably go faster if the bloody gearbox wasn´t so F´d on downshifts. Sometimes it just locks up and doesn´t respond.

Chris, 1:19.113 is the record :P
 
Loving the racing on Summit Point too! Have had some awsome racing in the Mustang Cup, but have encountered some a$$e$ there too. For the most part some great clean racing!

Yea it's tons of fun a race I had last night someone just straight up took someone out on turn 4 I think it was I need to put that on youtube.. hehe
 
Yea it´s crazy, had one guy follow me on that track trying to punt me off, what a complete tool!
I then protested it and got the "race incident" standard reply back...
wtf is that supposed to mean, race incident.. he was trying to catch me for a few laps lol.
Thankfully it was in a practice session so i could take short cuts through the grass and fool with him abit :P

Yea I got taken out of 3rd last night at that same corner. I was driving the yellow Red Bull car, light blue/orange/black for those who dont use tradingpaints.

ya i know, 1.19.1 is pretty quick.

My aim is to be always within 1-1.5 sec of the world record, wether it be on iRacing or GT5 TT.
Cause those redicolous time are set by people who have murder expensive setups at home and some unrealistic setups which wouldnt work in real life.

For example, the fixed setup mx5, at lime roch i had once a 58.8** which is pretty much world record, as well as on laguna seca, just 4 tenth

Yea i know, but things will change with the new tire model.
these slip angles or crazy setups with 48% BB and stuff will be a thing of the past.

What setup you have at home doesn´t really matter.
Huttu used to drive with a **** wheel and still smoked everyone in his prime.
What wheel, pedals etc only enhance the feeling but doesn´t make you any faster.
Possibly loadcell vs potentiometer but other then that i don´t think there is any difference speed-wise.

Mazda rookie is a good way to really see how fast you are compared to the very fastest guys, good time!

We really should start a Mazda league seeing as an F1 league doesn´t seem popular at the moment which is understandable since many guys just got promoted from Rookie.

I made a thread in the iracing forums about an F1 league to see the participation.
I´m banned now for month though because i said "****" in the F1 thread as i was watching Alonso lose his position in the Spanish GP ;)
Can´t believe i got a month for one word..

anyway, if anyone would like to check it out and see if there has been anything new in the thread it´s in the Hosted/Private League section, named F1 league.

New video, should be nice for you who would like to see how they go if you don´t own the car :)

Im having a problem with the braking. It's too soft for the first half of the pedal, then much too stiff for the last half. Any way of adjusting that?

Have you fiddled with the knob behind the brake pedal?
Set that knob to your liking, then never touch it.
Then when you change cars, you just re-calibrate the pedal in the game and press it as hard as you want full braking power should be.

Also have you modded the pedals? Like losing up the pedal plate itself?
For the clutch and brake i turned it upside down to get some more angle.
Then for the gas i removed it but put it on the backside of the gas instead.
I like my throttle to sit "lower" then brake pedal for heal´n´toe.
I also tightened up the gas pedal by turning the bolt behind it to get some more resistance and it helps in getting the power on smoother.
