You have to be very gentle coming off the throttle.
Otherwise it will oversteer, and if you practice long enough you can actually use it to your advantage to rotate the car some into the corner.

Btw, Shinya. Will you participate in the race in around an hour?

I don't get off work for another 2 hours lol. I'll probably be running the 7:15 or 9:15 PM Eastern US time zone race. One or the other.

Ok nice,

Well did a race now, started 2nd on the grid. Samuel Libeert, a seriously quick driver took pole, one split.

Start went to hell for me, i had a setup with a long 1st gear and got passed by 2 cars before T1.
Managed though to get them back during the first lap and then it was just about maintaining a good pace overall and secure 2nd place. 1st place was no chance :)

Spun once which i should not have done really, i thought about that i had no incs so far and the next corner obviously i lose the rear. Managed though to stay on the tarmac and could set on again. that was the only action i had apart from passing a few backmarkes and getting passed by Libeert once.

There was some close-calls overall but nothing serious. Did a 1.21.2 as best while Samuel managed a 1.18.3! I´m more then a second slower with a Q set..

2 incs got me 0.13 SR (Samuel had one inc and got 0.33) and +83 in iR which was nice ;)

Pretty boring race overall since i like to fight it out instead, keeps me interested the mind don´t start to wonder away.
Also had to correct my wheel numerous times because the clamps don´t sit tight enough.
Really thinking about drilling some holes in my desk to keep the wheel in place.

Just started my iRacing career. Its so incredible to drive! Qualified 6th of 12 and finished the race 5th on LimeRock in the Mazdas. That was before I realised the roadster is quicker..

Got the promo with 3 months + Williams F1, Silverstone and Zandvoort for £21 ($35).

Same package I went for! Pretty sweet deal!
My only advice is exercise patience and you'll be fast tracking trough the licenses in no time!

If your thinking about joining iRacing but haven´t pulled the plug just yet.
I think these videos will speed that up just a tiny bit.

Top Quality videos that entered the video contest.

no sorry. i don´t like Laguna, did only one race there. tomorrow i can host a server and we can have some fun at Zandvort, first time for me at this track. :sly:

Sound like fun! I know Zandvoort pretty well (it's a great track to)...just need to start learning the Skippy now. Send me a PM when you get the room up mate :)

I will open a server in 5 hours. (18:00 german time)
Skippy at Zandvoort, mostly practice, in the end a short race. :)

who like can join. 👍

just had a look, never hosted a server.

that looks best, or...?

cautions and restart, is that ok so?

Raise driver limit to 29, the more the better.
Everything else looks fine. Bit long race but otherwise good.

If you want close racing with alot of drafting the SPA is a better choice.
Because then if the guy ahead is clearly faster, you will catch up to him and maybe even pass him on the straight.

SPA we raced already in the Skippy event, next week starts Zandvoort, because of that Zandvoort. ;)

and yes, the driver limit is a bit much, well make max 16, something like that.
race length i can set to 30 min, will be enough. 👍

I see ;) But why would you cut down the ammount of drivers?
If some people crash out it will get really empty on track and less of a chance to get some nice battles in ;)
You can also instead of setting time, set laps, the amount of laps as the official series run, that way you get a nice practice race full distance.

Hey Rudi, unfortunately I have to go run an errand in just a few minutes, so I will probably miss a good portion of your session :guilty: I should be back a little bit before 20:00 German time though....hopefully the room is still up by then :) See ya

Yup same here, i´ll probably jump in half an hour before the race or so.
Edit: well it was like 3 people in 45min before the race so i gave that up :)

New, quick video i made :P

So just did a qualifying session in this rookie class. Some guy with a 1.50 rating slams into the back of my car like 3 times so I actually lost iRating in that race. :grumpy:

I guess the game just automatically blams both drivers even tho I was 100% the victim.... Is it possible to report people like that?

Yea you can file a protest. Though I haven't a clue how to do that.

Filing a protest is worthless. I've sent in a clip of a guy flying across a track blatantly to hit me. Never got resolved.
