The servers are saturated, I barely access the member page. Can't wait to race on some marbles, and also try the NTM updates!

Great, just as I want to feel some of those marbles my wheel breaks and I have to get replacement parts, perfect timing.

Really interested how bad the loss of grip is once you left the racing line, especially after a decent amount of laps with a bunch of cars on the track and how hard it is them get rid of the marbles afterwards.

That is actually really realistic. Once you get marbles on your tire, it normally takes 2-3 laps depending on the size of the circuit to clean them off.

As happy as I am to finally see this car in iRacing (replacing the Riley MKXX that honestly overstayed its welcome), I'm not too thrilled that they basically just slapped the same engine noise from it on there when we all know it sounds nothing like that.

The bigger issue to me is that it drives like a tank. Surely a "prototype" shouldn't handle like this?

Its supposed to drive much better then the old DP. I'm hoping they didn't copy/paste the physics too, that would be beyond lazy.

It drives similar but not quite the same. You can't slide this car as much as the old one and you have to roll it through corners more.

COTA is terrible to test it out on though, for some reason the track is like glass, try somewhere like Sebring, it's much better there and you can see the similarities between old and new.

The extra power to get by cars more easily is welcome, I'm still not totally sold on the car though as it has less steering feel than the old one.

For the sounds, they are getting updated on the 21st. They missed the deadline to get them out for this build.

What does everyone think of the new update? I have mixed feelings about certain cars. The DBR9 feels fantastic, although I'm really struggling to get he car to turn in the center of the corner with brake applied. The Z4 GT3 feels absolutely awful though. Understeers massively all the time, then just snaps oversteer just before the end of the corner. Feels awful. I'm going to try out the McLaren, Ford GT, and Porsche later to see if they are any better or worse.

I have had mixed results testing the Z4 , ruf and DBR9 which I put down to varied track and weather conditions. I race the Z4 in a league so Im most familiar with it. Overall , the car feels like its on harder rubber but it is slightly faster in laptimes. I still have a few "loose" setups I can try too. :)

I hadn't driven the ruf for a while but it felt a little more forgiving when pushed hard , compared to what I remember.

The DBR9 feels great and is still my favorite car to drive.

While dynamic tracks are a great addition to the sim , they have changed my whole approach to race preparation and it will take a while to determine how best to set up the car based on starting track and weather conditions and then how to manage during races.

Still testing the update, however I agree about the Corvette DP. It understeers like a truck around Mosport and it's just a frustrating experience..

I've got the southern 500 tomorrow night at darlington in the cup car.... I'm not expecting there to be many people left by the end of the race. In anticipation for the new build, many people got less practice than normal, including me, and Darlington is extremely tough especially with as hot as the track has been. Qualifying for the Pacific majors is an average of your fastest consecutive 15 laps, and many people struggled to even accomplish a Qcon as they're called. I'll be starting towards the front of the second split. I'm expecting this to be a long race. Pro split is covered by GSRC, and the Am split is covered by LSRTV at 6pm pacific Sunday.

Edit: started 10th and wrecked out, tough race.

I'm sure this has already been answered, but just looking at the schedule and I had 2 questions about some things that are written on them.

A. What is the "Driver Fair Share Rule" mean? For instance, if I run the race with myself and one other teammate. Obviously we would probably split the race into three parts meaning only one of us runs 2 stints. Is that considered "Fair" or no?

B. I noticed in some of the mixed class series that there is a percentage beside the cars listed. For example in the Prototype Challenge series, it has SR8 40% and HPD 60%, what does this mean?

Thanks in advance

Unless the fair share rule has changed this is how I understand it to work. We had to figure out all of this before the Daytona 24hr. Basically you have to drive 10% of your fair share of laps. Its based off of laps not time and the server estimates how many laps you will do. The way they figure it is for example the race you are doing will be a total of 100 laps with 2 drivers. That's 50 laps each if you split it evenly so you only have to actually complete 10% of those 50 laps. If you look in your lap timing black box there should be a lap counter that's red in color and it shows the minimum number of laps you have to complete then in turns from red to green once you have done your laps. Of course the more drivers you have the minimum amount of laps needed will be shorter.

The %'s you see along the cars listed for a series is the amount of fuel the car is restricted to. In the new prototype series the HPD's are limited to 60% fuel so that forces you to make a pit stop. I guess they started to do this to add pit stops to the shorter races where you usually wouldn't need to pit if you had 100% of the fuel tank available.

iRacing.com, the world’s leading online motorsports simulation service, today announced plans to add the 2016 Audi R8 LMS to its lineup of digital race cars. Audi thus joins a host of world class automotive manufacturers represented on iRacing, with the R8 LMS slated to compete with the BMW Z4, Ford GT, McLaren MP4 12c, the soon-to-be-released Mercedes-AMG GT3 and other state-of-the-art GT3 cars in iRacing’s Blancpain series.

The announcement was made by Steve Myers, iRacing.com Executive Vice President and Executive Producer, at the Nürburgring prior to this weekend’s iRacing.com GT500, the final round of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series.

“We’re proud to welcome Audi to iRacing and, along with iRacers all around the world, we look forward to racing the virtual R8 LMS,” said Myers. “The GT3 class features some of the most fiercely contested racing in all of virtual and real world motorsports. I’m sure iRacing’s R8 will prove to be every bit as formidable as its real world counterpart in the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Series.”

“Audi is excited to support iRacing in building a digital version of our R8 LMS,” said Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. “iRacing has earned its reputation as one of the world’s most authentic motorsports simulations service, and we are delighted to know iRacers everywhere will be able to enjoy the challenge and excitement of driving the Audi R8 LMS in online competition.”

2014 Blancpain Endurance and GT Series champion Laurens Vanthoor who, together with Belgian Audi Club teammate Robin Frijs, is seeking to clinch the 2015 Blancpain Series title this weekend, echoes those thoughts.

“I’m thrilled that iRacing will be adding the new Audi R8 LMS to its lineup,” said Vanthoor, who uses iRacing as part of his training regimen and will lend his expertise to the development of the virtual Audi. “I have my choice of simulation programs, but I find myself using iRacing 99% of the time. Their laser-scanned track surfaces are very accurate and all the landmarks and reference points are there as well. I’m sure iRacing will build the Audi R8 LMS with the same attention to detail. I helped in the development of the new R8 and so it will be interesting to have influenced the real and the digital version of the same car.”

^ Ha!

I have a Pac 4 race at monza in the FW31 tomorrow night, I didn't have time to practice much, I'm just happy to make it out of the 1:29's just barely into the 1:27's. I'm in the Am split again. It was tough to really get motivated for this after darlington last weekend.

I finished 2nd at Monza in the FW31 Am split (2 of 2). First time in the car for me, what a crazy race. Check out the start, I got a heck of a start in the Caterham Car, 6th to 1st in 1 lap. then check out the battle between Jason and I with about 7 laps to go.

Edit: lap 1 @ 3:10
battle for 2nd @ 1 hr 19min

Well, a new update has come out with the new DP sounds:

While not exact, THAT is far better then the recycled sound we got from the old DP.

Hi all, I'm new to iRacing, created an account about a week ago. I've held off on doing any races though, because I kept getting an error message upon joining the session. I figured it was on my end. Error 10054 if I recall correctly.

Contact iracing support or ask around on the iRacing forums in the appropriate section. You are more likely to get the proper response there, that does not sound like a common issue to me.

I've contacted them, they replied, but it went into my junk folder. Found it today, and replied. We're currently in the questioning process.
My message says "1005: Error detected in network device." I assume it's my lousy internet connection that needs to be upgraded.

Anyone need another driver for Petit? I'm not overly fast, but I'm generally consistent and "safe". I suck at setups, but I'll put in the time to get comfortable with whatever setup you've got. Any car except for the Z4. Thanks.

Got the hold of a GoPro Hero 3+ to record some of my races. I did some practice tonight but the footage wasn't great... The camera struggled with the brightness from the screens. Maybe it was because I didn't have any lights on? Or is some setting I'm missing with the camera?

Finished 9th in the Pac 4 petit le mans in the C6R, sadly TP failed so my retro le mans paint wasn't aired. I had a rough start but once I got in the groove I did ok.

Kind of a cool update on the website side, they added a refer a friend link that you send and gives them a chance to enter a promo code. Check it out under the 'My Account' tab.
