Sounds like Grosjean happened. May or may not involve the first corner.

I just did, testing soon. Scared to race, until I can trust my wheel again.

Have you tried setting it up manually under the 'computer devices and printer' option. That's how I have to set mine up.

Where in the world do you find a profiler for DFGT wheel? I have the one you can download that shows button maps but that's it, nothing to deal with settings at all.

I officially dislike Iracing's championship points system.. Prior to doing one race tonight I was 526 total points, I came 2nd in that race with a 1814 SOF, I'm now down to 480 total points. I understand drop weeks and all that, but I don't agree with it at all.. Its ridiculous to be honest.

That doesn't seem right... Check again later, a 46 point drop isn't normal at all! Either the 526 score was from counting 9 weeks or the system is waiting to reset.

That's the one I have, too. :yuck:

Also, polarbear345, congrats on your win, but, why did you give me a drive-through penalty, to get there? :sly: I mean, blame the guy who passed the rookie in the pits, causing me to be scared...

Did I give you a penalty??

The guy wasn't moving.... And I went ASAP! I wanted to get out of there, that guy had wrecked, and said it was his first race.... NOT who I wanted to be near! So I kinda...sorta... Forced the issue and passed him in the pits xD

Now I'm back up at 562, so I guess I can't complain about that :p

Everyone seems to talk about one but I'm guessing it's for G25/27 wheels.

I have G27.

Also, (results) I just won! Huzzah!

I feel really bad for the guy who was leading on the last lap, though. He ran 1:03s the whole race (Okayama Short, MX-5) and his engine blew on the last lap. I led the most important lap, and I'm proud, but, that's not how I wanted to win. I didn't have an answer for the guy, at all!

Yeah, I saw his erratic driving on pit exit, and tried to pass... he shoved me over the pit exit line. :( I was scared of him, too.

Being still quite new to this, having done 6 races now (3 won :D ), I'm looking forward to class D. What have you guys done at this point and how do you look back at this?

The reason I ask, I have no idea what my next class is going to be. I'm thinking of the Mustang Cup, which shares quite a few circuits with the Prototype & GT Challenge, where I want to drive later on my career. But is experience in the Mustang Cup going to help me in the Proto&GT Challenge, or should I do something else? In my eyes the Mustang Cup is a perfect learner but ofcourse I don't have so much experience in iRacing. Don't forget I also have to learn tuning the car (is it hard? :scared: )

MrMelancholy15
Shouldn't be. I haven't tried it, too much, in iRacing, but, I've done it in real life, and it's not that bad.

IMO its much easier in real life, because you have so much more feedback from the car. I struggle to set up cars on games/sims.

Is there any way to get more force feedback? Ive got the recommended settings from the iRacing forums for the G27, the profiler running in the background and the strength set to 20 in-game, but it's still really weak. Any higher and it shakes like crazy in the pits. Doesn't even have half the feel that my crappy old DFP use to have on GT5

Well, the Mustang Cup is a really good series. If you're fast in that car you can be fast in any car, there are some things that carry over to the GT cars but it is most commonly assosiated to the Falcon V8 Super Car.
If you are looking for some good racing the Mustang is a good car but so is the Grand Touring Cup in wich you already have 2 of the 3 cars that run there. The GTC will save you a few bucks and will get you to C license where you can move on to either the DP or the GT cars in the GT Cup.
As to tunning the car I can tell you right now, anything you learned in GT5 you need to forget. Everything in that game is backwards and doesn't translate to iRacing or the real world for that matter. What works in the real world generally works on iRacing(some pretty extreme setups in iRacing). The Mustang is a perfect car to start understanding chasis dynamics and adjustability.
Just one, leading the championship now. 2nd place is 33 points back.

Not a huge margin, but enough to breathe. Don't do more than 2 races total this week, when you're about to join look at your dashboard first and decide if it's a good idea to join depending on how many cars are signed up in your class.

Think I might have just secured the Div 3 title on the Star Mazda:

Let's see how it goes during the weekend, but the driver in second already did two races this week and got weak results so I don't think he can pass me any more.

I had a good race right now, following the driver in front all race long. I think his setup had more wing because he was faster on the turns, especially the last three, but I could always catch him on the back straight. The extra speed I got there was way too much to be just about slip streaming. Unfortunately for me he didn't make a mistake the whole race. There was a guy we were lapping who tried to hit him on purpose, swerving at his car. He managed to avoid it but lost speed, I could pass him if I wanted but it wouldn't feel right so I took my foot off the gas for a bit.

In other news, I realized I can jump from the Street Stock straight to the Impala A. :dopey:

I fast tracked to C Class on oval, got it last night. And since my SR is above 3.0 and I did 4 C Class races already, after week 13 I'll go to B Class automatically. So if I can work my SR to above 4.0 again I'll be allowed to race in the Impala A series. That's crazy!

Also, I don't own any oval content yet besides the New Hampshire track and the IndyCar, which were both bought for road racing purposes. And looking at the calendar of the oval cars I have interest in racing (Dallara, Silverado, Impala B and Impala A), the Impala A calendar allows me to race the last three weeks (New Hampshire, Charlotte and Motegi), as with the others' I can only race one week with the tracks I have so far.

Since I don't plan on buying any oval tracks this season I might just get the Impala A to try its fixed series. Should be fun.

Yup I know, I'm going to see what he does and go from there. No point in risking it if he isn't planning on racing. I'll have to wait and see. Season ends this Monday at about 8 PM Eastern right?

Yes sir! The last race should be Monday @ 6:00 PM EST.

Hope you and Livemusic bring the title home! Good luck guys!

It's amazing how fast you can move up, I went from struggling to.get C class in oval to being A class within a few days. I'm trying to work on my irating but I'm not nearly as bad a driver as it looks. I have had issues last weekend with my wheel not acting right so I quit a few rooms instead of wrecking anyone or myself.

Where in the world do you find a profiler for DFGT wheel? I have the one you can download that shows button maps but that's it, nothing to deal with settings at all.

Are you using this one?

The Global settings are the only ones I use, then everything else is setup in iRacing.

edit: these are the recommended settings from the Logitech website (the above pic was a random google find - I have no idea what it is setup for):

I'm pretty sure I added some damper and and spring effect strength but not much.

I never knew that, I always thought it had something to do with the fact that I can't create an iracing profile in the profiler, thanks

Computer question: My laptop only has 2 USB ports filled with a DFGT and CSP's, let's say I want a shifter and I plug in one of those USB extension adapters, so I now have 5 USB ports, will my wheel and pedals have more of a delay because of the adapter when I start plugging more items in? what are my options?

Yea I just didn't know where to go to setup. Thanks for the info, it might make a difference who knows. I do know I don't ever have 900 degrees on rotation, so that will be worth a try.

I am going to buy the Riley Daytona Prototype because the Prototype and GT Series looks interesting. I'll soon be over Class D 4.0 so I will be able to enter the series. I have heard that the Mustang Cup is an interesting series and a great way to move up in an iRacing career.

I use a usb hub (non- powered) attached to the bottom of my DFGT pedals. It has my wheel, a PS eye (mounted to my wheel for use as my Iracing mic and GT5 arcade mode head tracking) , a spare usb stick (for GT5 backups) and a charge cord for a bluetooth headset plugged into it. That way only 1 usb cable goes from my wheel to the PC or PS3. Never had a problem with delays of any kind. I don't know if CSP pedals need power though so you might want to go with a powered hub.

No problem 👍 the 900° rotation is what makes the difference for me. It made control much better and the wheel matches the in-game graphics. I have had instances where the wheel is just ... 'off' in it's calibration while driving and the options screen in iracing just won't solve the problem. When / if that happens, just close and re-start the logitech profiler and it will all work again 👍

Bare with me on all this because even though I have been on Iracing since like Feb or March I have yet to play with more than ingame settings. I set up the profiler as you have your said, then in game I redid everything. Here is where my question comes in on the steering when it ask you to turn fully one way then the other and return to center. How far do you really turn? I used only go about 90 degrees left or right from center, now I went all the way 180 but anything close to 360 and it doesn't accept it.

Also I went and tested a little at michigan since that's where B class is this week but the steering feels super light compared to the way I used to have it (it was 200 degrees of rotation with everything 100 in the profiler) but I prefer the heavier steering than the floating it feels now.

Give me a second and I'll post my exact DFGT settings 👍
It took a while to play with the settings and get it where to where I like it, but now I'm 100% happy with it.
