For a while I was like "Is that smuffy?" "WHY WON'T HE LET ME PAST!?!?!?!?"

Half the people don’t know how to race in street stock. Was running 5th when a crash ahead happens, I slow to avoid and get rear ended. I pit use my fast repair, only to be wrecked by a car 2 laps down. Not happy :grumpy:

Well, get out of the Rookie Street Stock and do some proper oval races. I race in the Truck series and some IndyCar oval races and the races are great. Sure there are some idiots still but if you get in a higher split the racings is good, close and clean. (Until you get to the last 10 laps then it's all or nothing.)

Same applies on the Road side of things.

Only marginally, although I did pull off the pass for the lead behind you!

Anyway, next race time!

WOOHOO! Tony Gardner posted that the McLaren will be joining the DP in the Grand-Am series and it will also be staying in the current GT Challenge series as well! Also that every series will be 7-days a week!

This is pretty much exactly what I wanted, so I'm happy. I know some are upset about the GT Challenge thing, but I think as the "new car smell" popularity of the McLaren dies down the splits in GT Challenge will be more balanced.

That World Tour Schedule isn't final, I think once we get driver swaps and day/night transitions as well as the BMW and maybe the RUF, things will get updated.

I ran a couple Grand-Am races a few seasons ago and the closing speed of the DP on the Mustang was absolutely ridiculous. They either needed to slow down the DP by about 5 seconds or speed up the Mustang by about the same.

I think they'll be adding some MAJOR endurance events to that schedule though.

Driver swaps and time changes should be imminent by now, as well as the BMW's and RUF coming we could have an awesome endurance event or two in 2013.

*drool*

That sounds like heaven.

Very very dissapointed, almost mad at them for pulling this crap on us!

I don't think their pulling any crap on us Jav. I think they are doing what iRacing normally does, underpromising. I think with how they hyped the Lotus 49 and then delayed it significantly they are trying to be careful about scheduling events before they have the content guaranteed.

Think about it, iRacing isn't stupid, they KNOW that there is a big following for endurance racing. The *only* reason they would withhold scheduling endurance races is if they were finalizing implementation of driver swaps and/or day/night transitions.

Yeah, but I don't think the driver swap function would work very well on official events. There's the finding a partner part that for 70% of the people won't be very easy. That by itself will hurt participation considerably.
They should just stick to what they have been doing in the past, give us a schedule with the usual races and add some more. I already gave a few examples on the iRacing forums of events that can easily be done with just one driver.

These special events are what make or break iRacing. That is what brought me in on the first place, 50 car grids are enough to bring new users in!

*Checks my sig*

*Checks the fact I am in this thread*

Uhh, yeah? :D

Did I pay any attention to the signature thing before now, nope.

You being in this thread doesn't mean much though, Mr.Meloncholy (Spelt terribly wrong) was in here loads before he got it :dopey:

They'll have to implement new systems to handle the driver swap function, which is likely one reason why it's taking so long.

These 8/12/24 hr races are going to be very very "niche" events. But I think even 2 or 3 splits would be a great success for all those involved. Figure a 40 car field in each split, 2 drivers for 8 hour races and 3 drivers for longer ones. I don't think we'll have much trouble getting 200 or so people paired up for an 8 hour race.

Driver swaps? Whaaaaat? I see the link to the special events, but I don't see anything about driver swaps in there?

I somehow feel that's quiet ambitious.

Problem with driver swaps (in a special event) is:

What if you total your car in the first hour? Did you just let your whole team (Group of drivers) down? I know that's how it goes in real life, but aren't we supposed to do these to have fun? Having some loser, or a total accident ruining 4 people's day doesn't sound like a good idea to me...

Cool? YEA!

Practical? Possibly.. But some flaws...

We will likely get ability for extended repairs as well as a free reset or two, maybe one free reset per driver?

Would you rather have no driver swaps at all? Or have them and run the risk of accidents taking your team out of the race? Sounds pretty awesome and realistic to me.

Definitely cool, no doubt, but could be a pain.

I'd say 2 splits would be more relistic... If you take all of the drivers that participated on the Pettit on 2012 and divide them on 3 drivers team that'll give you 3 splits and ovbiously you will only be able to drive for 1 team as it'll affect the SOF of that particular race.
so taking all of that into account I'd say 2 full splits is highly unlikely...

They where getting ready to launch it on season 1 of last year but got delayed due to bugs found on testing.

My Nixim mod came into today, what a difference it makes, wow! I'm actually a bit slower than I was before, but I'm sure after a bit of practice I'll be able to get back to where I was before, maybe even faster :p.

I don't see those 24 hour races actually lasting that long as yes I know we all love racing but thats ton of time to devote to racing in general at one time. We have the 2 hour races or so which I think are close to being at max honestly and driver swaps don't exactly sound like a great idea overall even though they might be fun races.

Class B Impala sure don't get along at Charlotte, I can drive it fairly fast but just not fast enough or the fixed set is just way too tight for me. I actually prefer how the truck drove there even being loose.
