I'm trying to decide what tracks to buy for next season. Based on the schedule, I think that I've decided on the following tracks:
Suzuka
Zolder
Interlagos
Sebring

I have room for 2 more and trying to decide between:
Oran park (for srf)
Oulton (for mustang)
VIR (just because I really liked it in FC)
Barber (for grand am and srf)
Zandvoort (gt challenge)
Motegi (for GT challenge)

Any recommendations for which are good tracks in iRacing (I have the cadillac tracks and Silverstone, Spa, Brands Hatch, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen)? I'm probably more likely to stick to the mustang and/or mclaren for this season but I also want to get tracks that are used frequently.

I havent looked at the schedule for next season, but for tracks that are just great for racing on Id pick Oulton and Zandvoort.

I'd probably do that too, VIR is very tricky, and barber isn't that fun IMO, Motegi would be my third choice in your case

Might as well upload it here if that's alright with you Jav, thanks 👍 I've been running the baseline in the Mclaren in practice, it doesn't feel right.. I don't know why. While were at it, anyone have a Daytona Prototype setup? I'm still undecided which of the two I'm going to run..

That's funny, because VIR is one of my favorite tracks :) The force feedback on VIR is great. It seems more alive then almost all the other tracks and you can feel whats going on with your car alot more on that track then most of them.

This guy's setups are my go to setups for the DP, very stable and fast:

I'll post mine later once I'm sure it works on a full fuel load.

Yes, VIR is phenomenal. The problem is it doesn't get a lot of participation because people seem to be scared of it. It's a blast....albeit a technical blast. :)

I like VIR as well, but the participation on the track is usally pretty low. Thats why I didnt put it in top 2 choices. I normaly only get 2 races in a week at VIR the rest never go offical.

I've been running the skippy series so participation is never a worry for me.

I am though wanting to try another road series this season. What would you guys suggest? I will have my B class by then.

Here are the series I don't want to run.
Star Mazda
Radical
cadillac

Thanks for the information. There's no way I'll be able to fit 2 27's on my desk. The 18 that I have at the moment takes up half of my desk lol.

You do not need "at least 2 GTX 670's in SLI" to be honest you need to avoid SLI configurations for iRacing for right now. You GTX 660Ti will run triple screens but you will have to lower some detail and run fairly low AA. Don't waste your money on a SLI setup.

What's the new steering model Tony is talking about? He didn't really say much about it..

Details are sketchy, but I guess they changed the way that steering is processed in the sim so it changes the feel for the better.

I remember in one thread he said not to expect huge changes in most cars, and some cars it might not even be noticeable, but it should be an improvement all around.

From what I read it ties the front tires together. I guess the way it is currently setup the front tires are independent of each other. Atleast thats what I got out of it. Cant seem to find the site that had it posted, but it was in that interview not long ago.

I got brake checked at the start/finish line :/

Wow! That sucks man! Some real loonies out there, but all in all it was a blast! Can't wait to try this with the low powered Club Racing type cars, now that's gonna be awesome!

Ok, as promised here's my set for the McLaren for the 2.4:

Remeber I'm still working on it but it should work as a good baseline depending on your driving style.

I got brake checked by some douche in a V8 Supercar with lead to a Cadillac rear ending me at about 40mph faster than I was going. My steering was good still, but my downforce was completely gone. Same douche in a V8 kept holding up the entire field weaving around on the track, not sure what happened.

I ended up finishing 4th in the McLarens, way off my normal pace due to damage. Could have had 3rd if it wasn't for the damage.
