I think I'm trying too hard or something.

I'm joining races with the sole purpose of gaining SR, and end up losing it. Even trying to take it easy, I end up going wide out of turn 4 at Interlagos all the time. It's getting frustrating.

I want to drive Proto/GT :/

I was in that race haha, Ive tended to find out for me personally when i try to drive easy and take it safe i end up making more mistakes because i dont know how the car will react at those lower speeds so i always try to keep up my pace. Towards the end i was way out in the lead so i started to back off and i ended up making a few more mistakes.

I was caught up in a 10+ car pileup in the most recent GT3. A Ruf looses it coming out of the hairpin. He's leading a nose-to-tail pack of roughly 10 cars and I don't think a single one made it through  Sr took a big hit

@Kamuifanboy I was taken out in that same wreck! That dude apexed for the hairpin back in turn 3

That's been pretty typical of the series this week. It's getting really frustrating. I've now lost 250 iRating and 2.1 SR thanks to that series. 3 times weren't even my fault.

Part of the problem is that the McLaren, for non aliens, is probably around a half a second to a second slower than the RUF around Road Atlanta so, there are a lot of good McLaren drivers that are racing against OK RUF drivers and the mixture is causing a lot of problems. Similar to how when fast drivers start from the back, it usually ends in an accident as either the cars in front don't know how to get overtaken or the car behind doesn't know how to overtake. What pisses me off is that every week will be like this because the car that is faster is the car that everyone will choose. Which I think is wrong. You can't do that in real life. You should have to register with one car for the whole season. That way pre season testing and just sucking it up that you may not always have the same or faster car becomes important.

Guess I'll go back to my beloved HPD.

Getting DQ'd with 2 minutes left was my sign that I need to put the wheel away and stop for a bit.

Dude: I've gotten my McLaren down to a 1.18.9 in a race. You've gotta hold on for dear life the first 5 laps, but after that, the car sets in and is very nice if driven smoothly. Let me know if you need the setup and that goes for all McLaren GT3 cup drivers for Road Atlanta. I'm low 1.19s and I got a 1.18 in my last race

I'm running low 1:19's and high 1:18's in race trim as well. It's incredibly annoying that I'm finishing behind drivers that I will 8 times out of 10 finish higher than.

I've jumped in a RUF with my Daytona set, made legal, and was running high 1:18's after just 3 laps. Given I take the time to make a proper setup. I'd be around 7 tenths faster in the RUF easily.

The ruf takes the curbs way easier. I see these guys all over them in the race. Racing some of the guys I've seen before in other cars, I'm about 5 spots (give take field size) below where I would normally be in the McLaren, but I really want the McLaren to work as it's the minority car being much slower

5th race I've done. Some knob spins and stops under the bridge. Proceeds to take out 9 cars, of course I get there when there is a wall of cars and nowhere to go. This is the freaking top split. These splits are generally seeing 3250 iRating or higher and we have people who can't keep **** together for more than 5 laps. It's getting ridiculous.

I think it may take a couple weeks, but then the iratings should adjust and put everyone in their proper split for the new series.

1st official GT3 race. Made it out alive with only one incident (slight off-track before straight).

Started from Pit on a full field of 35, maybe was 32nd place, made it up to 12th.

A lot of people in pits, but then I remember there isn't a fast repair for this race.

Rocking the Rum Bum Livery.

I don't think I going to bother entering a race until I know iRacing has this site issue fixed. I'm seeing people lose and gain way too much iRatying and I don't want to sacrifice mine for it (it's already low enough).

Down again, I was going to do the Ruf cup race in 15 minutes too... Good thing I didn't register I guess.

Edit: Back up

That's happened in a race I've been in too just it was me slamming into a lap car that had spun for the umpteenth time and tried to turn it back around on a blind spot on the track right in front of me. Another time there was a guy who missed turn 3 on the first lap and flew back across into about 3 cars. It's GT3 WWE right now

Ruf Cup isn't any better, I went 21st to 12th on lap 1 due to crashes, and then was taken out on lap 6 when someone rejoined without looking and took me out. Don't know whether I'm going to try another race with the the site having issues as it is.

Honestly though, I'm glad to see the massive SoF and participation in these events. I don't have the ruf, but I assumed most of the guys who race the GT3 probably race the ruf cup too. I'm thinking the Riley DP might become my other main car along with the trusty Mustang. Another one I'm really looking at is the Ford GT in the Proto GT

Well, I finally finished a race and got 8th place. Not too bad. I'm done with that for the week though, too much iRating and SR loss.

Drove the HPD for the first time with the updated Torque curve. Holy moly, completely different animal. The torque feels a lot more realistic now, this goes for all of the cars on the service, but they have opened a new can of worms with the HPD. Because iRacing was not given the data for a typical Prototypes 2 style traction control system, the car has a lot of oversteer on power.

This is exactly what im racing at the moment, I didnt want to race the ruf anymore so im using the riley and i finally got my B License and i had heard the Ford GT feels really nice to drive after the new build so i picked that up as well and it is a really fun car to drive although tends to understeer heavily at times. Without much practice i finished 4th in class in my first proto/gt race and man do those HPDs just fly up on you, you really have to keep your eyes on that relative timer and your mirrors.

I got 2 3rd places in legends road this week, one official, one not. I seem fast enough to stay ahead of the majority of the competition but there's always two guys who finish 20 some odd seconds ahead and they average low 1:02, my best is a 1:03.2 and average 1:04 at okayama.

On another note, I now have a love hate relationship with VIR. It's an awesome layout, keeps me on my toes but the second I drop a wheel, there's no saving it and it's driving me nuts. I must say though, I'm running -3 degrees rear camber on the ruf track and it drives slightly better than -2 degrees

So, I think that the Prototype & GT Series will most definitely become my main series (Again) as the quality of driving is so nice. With the updated HPD I'm able to cut yet another 2 tenths off of the aliens times and am only 3 tenths away from the slowest aliens! Woo! 2 starts. a 2nd and a win in the two races respectively. Thanks to the NTM on the C6R and the GT, there are generally 16+ total GT cars which is fantastic fun when you come up to the traffic. Hopefully it will stay that way for the entire season.

I still find myself wanting longer races for this series though. Now that the GT3 series runs in the 30 minute race bracket. I think the Prototype & GT crowd would not mind moving up to 60 minute races with 2-3 races being 90 minutes per season. This series desperately needs pit stops.

Down again :(
Kamui, that's your set posted on the forums correct ?

If it was posted about 4 hours ago and it is in the HPD Setups shop posted under the name "Shinya Michimi" that would be mine :)

3 races, 2 2nds, and a win. Can't be disappointed at all. I really hope the high count of GT cars remains. I'm loving the proper traffic management.

That's my iRacing finished for the week. Now to work on sets for next week :)

That's the one, pretty stable.
I have yet to get a race in this week.
Screwed my right hand up chipping ice from my parking lot on Wednesday.
Gunna try today .

HPD at Spa Qualifying Lap

That's the one, pretty stable.

If you add 58KG fuel and put the ride height to the same levels as with low fuel, the set is really good for the race. Easy to drive and put the car wherever you want. It will get a little bit of understeer when driving behind someone but, the draft will do more than enough to overtake.

Id imagine for next week that Bathurst is pretty tough for HPD drivers because you can only realy pass on the 3 straights. This Ford needs alot of track to turn and there aint much of it here.

The Ford GT is awesome to drive. It's a lot of fun. The only problem is that usually the proto GT races have 5 Fords, 5 Vettes, and 409285dn837d100*10^22 HPD in the race. They are horrible about shoving the slower classes off the track ruining the races of themselves and the GT cars. On a track like Bathurst, it's amplified by the narrow parts. I still like the Ford GT though. It's an awesome car and I recommend it
