is drifting faster?

people people..... driving is driving.... and you all seem to think that grip and drifting are two completely different things.... they are both driving.... and of course on the oppposite ends of hte driving spectrum... on one side you do not loos grip and on the other side you loose it.... now in hte middle of this spectrum there is a maximum gripping situation.... now keeping this state is extremeley imposible on turns in reality and in games.... therefore slightly exceeding or slighly maintaining a bit less grip is going to be the realization of this maximum grip situation.... while driving it would be extremeley difficult to realize when you are approaching the m,aximum grip of your tires without alot of technology... that would account for tire wear, pressure, torque delivered, and many other things... however a slight loss of grip is easier to realize and with proper considerations can be brought back to maximum grip and again slight drift.... drift is not purely exhibition.... because drift is not some new typoe of driving it is simply doing so without excess grip rather than with excess grip. this does not say that it is faster... becasue the pointr of maximum grip is the fastest on almost all turns on the correct line.... it is hte line that truly defines how fast someone is... not really how a person drives... as long as the driving approaches the maximum speed and therfore grip for a particular line... an exhibition drifter with an extremeley better line can beat a poor line taker who drives grip and a person barely holding grip will loose if his or her line is not nearly as good as a person who is no where near there ability to approach maximum grip whether on the drift or hte grip side

stands to reason that a car going forwards is going to be able to go faster than a car going sideways...

bah! havent i entered this late :P
