i think canada gets it afew days later than usa does because they have to put in the french instructions along with the game, so that delays it a day or two. anyone know if futureshop takes preorders? i wanna buy it at futureshop, but i wanna make sure theres gonna be some there to even buy.

Actuallt, there are strong inditions that PAL release will finaly have the option to swithch between the mesaurement system (metric - collonial) for the first time in the series, independent from the country chosen.

Also notice that "British AKA English" version is usually "Euro PAL" release with 5 biggest european languages: English, Deutch, French, Italian and Spanish. Other countries are getting variety, depending of SCEE decision to make a localisation for that particular game. Also notice that usually PAL games, despite the localisation mentioned above, are getting English language option as default.

BTW Isn't it ironic that "Collonial" system is still called that way? It makes me sad, in fact..

I was talking about the price, not the measurement sizes in he game.


ps: if you have a street race, do the cars in the UK version drive on the left???

Someone mentioned that they thought it was sad that that the colonial system holds that specific name. I live in Ohio, and thats the first time I have ever heard it called that (but maybe the US shrugged off "colonial" for our own reasons). Unless some unfortunate errors are detected in the American build, GT4 will finally be experienced. And I surely cannot wait. All the pretty pictures, cool videos, and magazine articles I've read will all translate to what I'll be picking up my DualShock 2 for. I'm ready to mash down the X button much more and then remember to slow down with the Square button at all the tracks. Had I the resources, I can take my b*tchin' rides, port them to PC, and maybe make a unique Avatar with it. Maybe... I don't know.

It isn't out yet, but let me go out of my way to type this up. I am very thankful to become a member on GTPlanet and get this close to seeing much better pictures from the grainy ones of the past. Information was limited at first. Pictures were crappy. Videos were pretty rare. And with all sorts of people on GTPlanet speaking up and showing off pictures, I am so damn glad to see this game finally become available after delays and hard times (same thing, right?). I kept mostly cool about everything and didn't cry over little details missing because all I want to do is race and have fun in Gran Turismo 4. And if I can't do either, I'm not playing Gran Turismo. So thanks to everyone for their contributions. That means my congrats to CobraGT, ALPHA, Discovolante, my boy in Australia Eagle, some of NavyAD's help, the peace-keeping Moderators, and the wonderful leader... Jordan. Anyone I may have forgot, thank you for your help as well, sorry I couldn't mention you in this post.

Well theres just some Inconsistancies I dont understand, the states have very very little advertising, and Zero Playable Demo's, I cant even remember if we had and Movies at Kiosks, It seems that they are almost neglecting us completely. But hey I could be wrong, and this game could have more sweetness for us then a Russel Stover Candy!

I agree with you about garage cars in arcade. In GT3 all I did was do Free Run laps with my cars. It's what I love about GT. If there is no way for me to do it I will be pissed! There must be some kind of Free Run with garage cars, even if it isn't in Arcade mode.

I thought there was a way to do it in simulation mode - you just have to pay for it, and you can decide if you want other cars out on track with you or not. That was cited as the reason why you couldn't have garage cars in arcade mode - because you wouldn't have to pay to test your cars. That explanation has kinda been shot down since it's been revealed that PAL will have garage cars in arcade mode.

My thoughts exacctly. I spent 90% of my time in GT3 in Arcade mode, specifically racing my buddies in 2P.

I was hoping that they were going to expand the 2P mode, but sadly they did the opposite it seems. I would have loved to race a 20 lap race with my buddy, each of us different tyres and fuel strategies. Oh well, there's always GT5...

yeah, its what kept gt3 playable for so long. All those 2 player battles. The fair races. and the handicap ones. SOmetimes one of us would use a more powerfull car like say... a R34 against a lotus elise on apricot hill. the guy driving the elise would get a head start of a few seconds. stuff like that. No more tuning battles best motoring style.. unless they really are putting 2 player battle w/ garages back in.
