LOL. if you live in Chomeday, yep. At least there is a EBgames, Futureshop, ToyRus and Wall-mart near. you won't have any problem finding a GT4 copy.

At this point, this is more of a case of "will the public forgive PD and GT4 for being delayed time and time again?"

Judging by the 1,000,000 + sales in Japan, I'd say they were pretty forgiven. At least by Japanese gamers. And as much as we like to whine and moan. We all know we're going to buy it as soon as we can no matter when it's released. Even if they push back the US date again(and I pray they don't! :grumpy: )

Does anyone know why the release date in Canada is 3 days later than the release in the US?
On FutureShop.ca, where I have my pre-order placed, the release date is slated as February 25, 2005, however, on EBGames.com, the release date is February 22, 2005.
Does anyone know why?

cuz futureshop is always slow as hell.

Just reserved my copy of GT4 at my local EB and the manager told me the info he has from corporate right now is the game will be IN STORE on Feb 22. This means they will receive their shipments the week before.

I guess its about that time for me to give up on praying for any kind of SAAB to be in the game. Afterall, it would be very strange for the US version to have SAAB as an extra, lol. :indiff:

1. Future Shop sucks!

Now, I work at EBGames so I know release dates and I can tell you that they've told us 5 different dates on many different occasions. However the good news about this time is that the Lower Mainland (Vancouver) Sony Rep said that the date would infact be February 22, 2005.

Thankgod. I have had the game pre-ordered since 2003 when it was announced at E3. I already have the 22-25 off from work. Im having a huge 48 hour lan party. anyone wanna come?

Okay now I think I might have to go and see a doctor, I just put in a request for Tuesday the 22nd all the way to the 1st at work. I couldn't stop myself. I have never wanted any more in my entire life as much as GT4. I'm so pathetic :)

Yep, well I just cancelled my order from FutureShop.ca, and am going to go to EB tonight and get a pre-order there instead (which the gentleman on the phone said they would have GT4 in stock on the 23rd).
Can't wait! :D

I think I'm going to switch to EB, because I don't want to be without un-necessarily.

EB's not bad... but in Toronto at least Toys'R'Us has better prices and bigger quantities than EB... i got MGS3 and GTA:SA $10 cheaper than EB.

Unfortunately here, the opposite is true. Depsite being the only Toys'R'Us in Atlantic Canada, their stock is abysmal, and hit and miss at best.
Anyways, it's all settled now, cancelled pre-order at Future ****, and got a new one at EB, I'm relieved.

Should I preorder? I think some places will have it for sale right? And I don't know how this preordering thing goes and am kinda nervouse about it :scared:

Well on July 10th 2001, GT3 was avaiable for those that didn't pre-order here in Toronto, Canada. In fact, they had about 50 extra copies for those that didn't pre-order. I work at EB and we are told the game should be in on the 22nd. I will tell you guys if we get the game prior to, like say the 21st and just stock it at the back for next days release.

I've had a pre order with game stop from July 26th 2003...
But to be honest I was hoping they would hold off until mid March
you see I have this fifty+ mile mt bike race on the 5th and this is going to mess up my training
oh well....I'll just have to deal with it. HAHA

enjoy the wait
...I'm not holding my breath I'm in training
Cheers Billy

If your in Phoenix Arizona We'll be at Firebird's main track on Saturday Feb 5th stop by and say Hi I'll be driving a white 90 Miata.

If this is the true release, then could some tell me what is the minium you can put down to reserve it at EB?

its a fiver to reserve a copy, but they have been known to give your copy up to a fully paying customer, especially if you dont pick up/pay for within a couple days of release, I would say reserve for five then go pay the rest asap...

At my local EB, I believe it is $5 CDN, so probably $5 USD as well.

uhhhhhmmmm, didnt I just state that five dollar thingy :)

I'm might be wrong... But I don't think he read your post...

Also, that guy was asking about EB games, not stores in general... But I'm pretty sure their all 5 bucks...

I guess I'll continue with the "will the public forgive PD..." deal. One thing you mentioned was "Japan forgave. Will America?" Maybe it's just me, but I think the delay issue has people scrambling for other games until GT4 comes out. I don't follow anything other than GT4, but in a Gamepro I read, Forza Motorsport is probably due out this month. Enthusia is probably due before July 1st. I think whereas impatient GT fans looked for alternatives, most GT fans stayed with the delay, even though it was tough. Hell. I can't admit that even I've been a bit upset about the delays. And usually, all I hear about is Forza this, Forza that. Then maybe I see some "Enthusia will pwn." I've even stated "GT4 will come. GT4 is not Duke Nukem Forever." Whatever's in the game is likely that. Maybe I'm being too biased, but I don't want anything beating GT4, and especially because of little features that don't mean a damn thing unless you're too greedy about what makes a racing game a great one. I've heard it all. No online. No damage. No this and that.

Remember the saying "Good things come to those who wait?" Many of us who haven't turned our backs on Gran Turismo will likely be rewarded by shutting our mouths over complaints and finally getting out there and kicking ass on the track.

So I'll accept the 2/22 date. I don't need to forgive PD. I didn't fret over the delays.

You working in metrotown location? gotta shake your hand as a fellow GTer
