@Dalone no problem. I try not to use traction control or skid recovery but a car with any power on comfort tires becomes a smoke machine... Throttle control on the six axis is not very good.
 
wooo done it. i swear the guy that made this was smoking weed. 2 reasons why. 1. seriously Tsukuba is a pain in the a**. 2. 420.
oh and now i hate miatas even more then i did before this seasonal lol.
 
Highly recommend mugen motul civic for Tsukuba with Eunos as the lead car.
All that is needed is to max the ballast, detune to 192 hp and reduce rear downforce to meet the pp limit. Ran a consistent 1:06xx with 1:07 first lap for the win. However, it is with srf on. Tried isuzu concept detuned and got within a second. So for those not too gifted drivers like me, do try the mugen if you have difficulties.
 
For Tsukuba, i used Isuzu 4200R Concept, bearly tuned with transmission set to 220 kmh and ride height lowered. Starting car was a Civic of some sort. Had all overtaken by the beginning of lap 5.
Fastest lap around 1.08.5
 
I passed with mazda mx-5 miata (NA) '89 very easily without any tune. Just upgrade the stock version up to 420pp thats all and dont forget to do weight reduction.
 
I was able to gold all five events in my modded and tuned Toyota MR2 1600 G limited.

Tsukuba: I had to not only wait till I had the Civic in pole, but had to put in error free laps while the Civic held the Skyline back. Some races the Skyline would rabbit on lap two, some races on lap 5.

Not a whole lot of money to be had on this one.
 
After 5 tries finally beat tsukuba with 300zx 420pp. Had to run very hard. Not sure how 1:08's beat it. I couldn't at that lap time. This was the only car I tried. The rest were easy.

Kaz probably saw all the complaints about events being too easy, so maybe he thought: "Hey, let's make it unbeatable instead, proper asian level!"

+1 I love the GT series and this has been the same since GT1. One of the biggest improvements PD could make is to group the AI cars together in packs through the field and actually have the AI pass each other. I would rather race five or six cars side by side for a tough finish than have to chase one rabbit.

I've seen the AI passing each other more in recent online seasonal events. For instance, Expert level Ferrari challenge and this one:cheers:. Sure, it could happen more often though.:cheers: I do agree with you. Recently, I've seen it change for the better though.
 
Failed in the trusty R31 GTS-R, failed in an ST165. I won't be making a "ringer" car to beat this, I want to do it in something I like. Bit of a project for me anyways :)
 
Turned on SRF in the Isuzu concept for Tsukuba in the end (with the City Honda holding back the Skyline for 3 laps). The supercharged MR2 felt faster to me when mucking around with it earlier without SRF. Consistency was an issue there. Also tried the Starion. The laps were too slow with it for me though.

I've been using the Eunos. Very easy, and I mean first attempt and a few mistakes, at Mt Aso, La Sarthe and Deep Forrest but nowhere near at Tsukuba and London despite numerous tries. Any tips?

Wait for the right field for one, 5th & 6th fields in rotation are much weaker. I'm assuming you've tried the obvious (tuning, gears and stuff)

Thanks, just got the one with the Civic up front and won it easily. I still can't get anywhere near the MX-5 though. Only London to crack now. The roadster is really fun and I think I've got it set up quite nicely now although I'm no tuner. I tried the Motul Civic Race Car but couldn't get on with it at all.

Tsukuba is the toughest. Wait for line up with Honda civic or city turbo at the lead. That is the slowest lineup. Try the motul mugen if you have it. Otherwise Isuzu concept. You need some throttle input through the turn to balance the car and accelerate out of the turn. I can put those cars on share if you need.
For London, you can cut a bit of the kerb to get a better racing line. Fun challenge to reignite interest.

Cheers. Looks like we cross-posted there. People seem to be doing ok with the Motul but I couldn't get anywhere with it. Couldn't hear the engine properly, the gearing seemed off, it understeered horribly, and the more I fiddled with it the slower I went. But then I am very much a novice tuner. I'll have another go at London and use those curbs.
 
I can see people find Tsukuba difficult, but for me it was a breeze. But London was hard, really hard. Won it in the last corner. And drove like maniac.

Pics/videos or it didn't happen. Just Kidding/Joking. London is very difficult--especially if you challenge yourself. One thing I love about this game is if I'm blowing away the competition(very rarely if ever haha) it allows me to up the challenge by choosing a weaker car or driving it stock. Too easy on stock? Car is way too strong then Pick another one. Performance difference adjustment to the rescue!

I'd guess most people are after a difficult race that involves a standing start and battling for position, rather than dominating 10 AI cars in 1-2 laps and then chasing 1 single car that's a further 25 seconds ahead for another 2-3 laps.

Now I just need to wait in my UCD for some better 80's cars so I can actually do this seasonal! (The 80's cars in my garage are crap :))
 
Two top tips for London there. Use the curbs and drive like a maniac. Seemed to do the trick. That was fun. Now I suppose I ought to go and drive some boring Datsun in the Academy Seasonal.

Boring isn't a word I'd use for the 370Z on sport hard tires. Unruly maybe... :trouble:

That's what happens if you clip a kerb with RS tyres. The one in the pic I recovered from but I've had it over a few times.

I got quite lucky. After finishing 2nd 4 times, I exited and came back in and there was no MX-5's or Skylines up front. The top car was a Honda City (if I remember right) and I beat him easily with my 85 RX-7 with average lap times in the 1:07-1:08's
 
The tsukuba here is as insane as nissan gtr 07 arcade mode trophy.many of you could tackle this race with mugen motul,but mine has 446pp on it,no other mods,just an oil change.so then i have to limit the power to 420pp,173hp and still finished at position 2
 
I've been using the Isuzu Piazza XE for a bit of fun. Gold on 3 of 5 so far, inc Tsukuba.
