Yeah. Lets just toss all 3 compounds in and call it a day haha.
I think we got this mostly sorted anyways.

Agreed, normal tire wear, run whatever compound you fancy. Seems like it will make for great strategy.

At this point I need all you guys to take your arguing to the pm's. I don't want to scare off new participants. Also I getting pm's about discretion, so plz fellas take the arguing to the pm's plz!!!

Winter Test Session schedule for Saturday 2/9/13 4pm Pst (12am GMT)
Room will open an hour before schedule start time' 👍

People will still only pit once so changing the tyre's won't make the strategy any different than season 2, and if this is the case then if it was a tie I'll change my vote.

none of the what you qualify you start with rubbish cos every on who isnt the fast will use the faster tyre

i think if we leave the tyres how they were in season one. as that way in testing this weekend we can see whether the tweaks to the cars make a difference.
if they dont then we can try the two tyre types to see if it make the faster cars much slower over a race. to me this is the most logical way to test it as people still had to pit on most tracks in season 1

The whole point of adding tyre's was to make more stops and hopefully add pit strategy. This was the original aim and I think we should make it happen.

Tire wear on normal will be fine. It'll be shorter stints using softs. So it'll be who can make their tires go longer and get on the mediums, or guys start on mediums go longer and switch over to softs.

I agree 👍

Seems like seth is scared of racing hards

Listen guys we all are part of this series so we need to respect each other a bit more and value everyones opinion , even when they seem like crap .

I think some people might be confused or under the perception that some of the cars last season were superior to others , last time i checked no one drove the silvia .

Even if we put everyone in the same car , the top drivers are still gonna come out on top .

You cant improve your chances of winning by putting faster drivers in slower cars or by using racing softs , the only way to get better in this videogame is practice .

Some of us like to have a little more control over our cars. Plus the fact of us wanting more pits. Softer tires means more pits. :)

You all should know that all this voting and choices could have been left to the stewards. Joe was nice enough to let us discuss subjects and vote on them. Once a choice has been made on a subject, leave it alone and go to the next subject to vote on. 👍

Sorry Joe,
I can't make it. :grumpy:
Brother inlaws Bday is this weekend and we are having people over at my house for a Bday dinner. So much fun. 👍 I'd rather be racing. :)

So what you're saying is. I can't have more horse power and stickier tyres than you because I'm not as good.

I'll be at the race Joe.

And TNT makes a good point, the stewards or even joe himself couldve just decided on all the rules.

While I have no issue on discussing new ideas, discussing old ones THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN VOTED ON is a waste of time and space on this thread.

The faster drivers do come out on top. Take GTRRL where most of us came from. Nobody could match immortal, and king/canze was pretty hard to match aswell. I know that Skeng is 1s alap quicker than me in identical cars, but I don't avoid series he's in lol. If anything being the underdog and having something to prove is what motivate you to get faster.

Nicely said Zach. :)

I have no problem with any rules or regs that the guys decide on , I will still race either way .

I just think some of us are looking the easy way out .

I used to be one of those drivers who just wanted racing softs all the time and would vote against meds and hards in the series I raced in but once i actually gave meds and hards a try and actually learned how to use them it made me a much better driver .

No more comments from me just let me know when the season starts and ill be there .

Cheers .

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
we shall draw a line under this tyre debate and move on in a positive direction
to our next subject

Just to touch on subject, I received pm's about making the crs faster, less incidents, and more pitting which the soft tires will bring to the table. I don't want softs because I cant drive hards. I want softs to induce pitting at normal wear, and cleaner driving between drivers. It was clear that people barely could control their cars on meds so I don't understand why we would make that harder on our selfs by taking away even more grip. One word divebombers! On softs a divebomber could get his car stop quicker on softs then he could on hards, which would result in less incident reports for us stewards to write and more time on practicing for the races. I can hear the incidents now "I don't now what happen I hit my brakes and they locked up and I slide into another driver ruining his race." At these cars pace a pass can take several seconds to complete and with no drivers giving, more grip will allow those two drivers to take turns two wide and hold their lines better for cleaner and faster racing which is what I assumed drivers wanted in the end.

I had class all night last night so I will resolve this tire voting situation tonight when I get home from work'

Now the regs are pretty much announced I'll be available for testing etc, so just pm me or something and I'll come on

I run other series with racing hards as the only tire  (take a look at GT-Open, that was on hards before the new tire wear, as is my new superlightweight series) Hard tires on these you can run all day. There won't be a need for pit stops. Softs on the other hand will. Don't be so obtuse!

The only person being obtuse was you with your idea of bringing new cars like audis and corvettes to race with the gt300 cars , I cant wait to destroy you on track with your racing softs.

You couldnt even show up to majority of the races on time and you feel you have the right that your opinion is valued or even considered .

Your lucky im not the one running the show or Id tell you GTFOH .

Are you 15 or something? That's how you're acting. Like a little child. Here's the definition of obtuse- http://www.thefreedictionary.com/obtuse You're going to "destroy me" on track, lol :sly: You going to try and wreck me on purpose like Tyler? I got a family with a kid and a wife who has health problems, I showed up for all but 3 races. 👎 If you want to be ignorant, be my guest. I don't need reasons or explanations for my actions, you aint my bitch, you don't deserve an explanation.

And your puny rhetorical threats don't phase me. My idea about other cars was supported by other people before I even came up with the idea. So basically it wasn't my idea. Racing softs wasn't my idea- target the one's who wanted it before me, just like the Audi Corvette and GTR.

What's comical is that the GATE series you race in has guys who ran with other non Japanese cars before. I bet you told them to GTFOH too. :ouch:

Seth I think this is the kind of thing that they were talking about when they said take it to private messages. You get in these novel sized arguments with everyone. I am not saying you are right or wrong in the argument, Just pm the dude.

Right, so target me for things I didn't come up with but support? Take a look at the others who wanted to run other cars, and the guys who wanted to run softs. I'm not someone's lynchpin.

Ok so anyway, I have a question to the guys making the decisions....

How will car choice be determined? First come first serve?

Spot race a week before the series starts?

I suggested a time trial with 'reverse results'. So the fastest guy picks last but gets the most points (like a race weekend). The slowest guy picks first but gets the least points.

That's my suggestion, not saying it has to be done that way.

I don't think that will work out. Half of the field already know they won't be in a serious points battle and would prefer getting car choice. I personally would bomb 1 points race in order to get a car of my choosing, even if I planned on winning the whole thing.

It was announced earlier that there will be a pm sent out to all drivers just before op completetion and right at op completetion to give all drivers a fair chance to pick there chassis.

And once again let's keep the brutal treading to pm's plz!
