I would have went with the Razo Silvia for Season 2 if had it not been for some driver/friends wanting to put together a Cusco drivers team. My mid corner speed was way faster in the Silvia then the cloggy awd front end that slows me down in the mid corner. I'm not sure if the Razo Silvia will qualify great, but after some testing with some buddies the Razo Silvia showed it could keep a gap if set out far enough from a drafting following car. And I will declare the Silvia as the most stable car on grid that I have driven in all honesty.

I need a list of the stewards for season 2 so Zach and I can complete our spreadsheets.

Zach I had already prepared a spreadsheet and saved it under google.docs so I will send it over tomorrow once partially filled in, unless you want the empty sheet also?

Spreadsheet 1: Drivers points plus success ballast.
Spreadsheet 2: Team drivers points
Spreadsheet 3: Race Results
Spreadsheet 4: Drop worse 2 rounds (lol, no comment!)

Recent News: I have taken noticed to the fact that since the last Lexus regulation change the Lexus Is350 have not won a race since then if I'm not mistaken, And I'm a little worried that the Rx-7 might be the out right dominate car in the field. I propose this if the Rx-7's dominate the pre season races that their weight be increased back to their original weight of 1180kg to bring the Lexus, Subaru, Silvia, etc back into the picture. Thoughts?

I believe all questions have been answered and if not plz notify me for prompt response. Willfred_1 I'm sending you the reg's you asked for via pm now buddy! 👍

you forgot to ad me to the stewards list

The threads been up for over a month and now there's a hurry to pick a car? There's still 17 days before the season starts. I can't test or pick my car until I'm back home.

Just to add, it took over 3 days to even decide how the cars are picked so to just throw a 48hr limit on the most important decision is brilliant.

We have 12 drivers still to select cars. Assuming everyone takes 2 days to decide, that's 24 days. The season starts in 17 days!
We've imposed the limit to speed things up. We could have set it to 24hr but was decided to go with 48hrs to give people time.

I don't have enough time to test no matter what so I will just pick the standard RX-7.

Feel free to avoid choosing that car as we are trying to make team.

So are we talking 48hours per person or in 48hours everyone should of chose their car?

48 hr per person mate.

of anyone is online now or up to 5pm gmt and would like to help me get some footage

The 48hr time limit is plenty, im ok with it, but for people low on the selection order its not fair to keep them waiting, cause we get less time to test our car that we will be racing.

Also, I noticed this thread has 4 tracks listed under preseason, are we doing 2 or 4 preseason rounds?

So besides the car choice for a minute, I'm proposing something in qualifying. If we have more than 16 qualify and do two rooms, what happens with the guys who qualify on mediums as a strategic move? I think if we go and do 10 x 10 for two rooms (if we have two rooms) the top 5 soft qualifiers and top 5 medium qualifiers start in room A and the others in room B. That might screw guys who are quick on softs though. But I can't really think of another idea. Unless were all in the same room!

I say its a risk you take if you wanna save softs. Has to be a risk reward for saving softs for the end.

If there is a need for 2 rooms why not all qualify on the same tire. Then decide the room split, once we are split into A room and B room have each room run a qualifying session on the tires you will start the race on. It's a little more time consuming but it makes it fair.

Or we all qualify on Softs then let people start the race with whatever tire they want.

I think qualifying for the people who want to run mediums first will just be a risk they have to take if that's the order they want to run. The first few races will probably need 2 rooms but like season 1 it will become 1 room 3 or 4 races in.

It might all depend on the amount of drivers and the track , some tracks the difference between soft and med might not be too great .

Are the hards going to be used or is it just soft and med ?

It's only right to qualify on the tires you start the race with. Most major forms of motorsports that have different tire compounds used on the same day follow this. Indycar and F1 come to mind as the biggest. It spices up the competition as well. I thin there will only be about 14 or 15 people who qualify for the race anyway. So I think we will all fit in one room. And Skeng it's softs and mediums only.

Yes F1 do it but only for the top 10 drivers not the entire grid.

But it's certainly a problem that needs resolving. Certainly if we split the drivers between soft and medium in the rooms, it would encourage more people to qualify on e medium tyre.

However a complicated qualifying system might put people off joining the series/continuing with the series.

I guess it will be up to the driver to make the choice , some guys might be able to qualy on med and still make it into room 1

Exactly. You don't want to get too gimmicky just to add a twist in qualifying. It's cool but not worth doing all of the shuffling and work just to add that. I like the two tire idea but there should be a risk to using mediums in qualifying as is there is a risk in using softs for qualifying

It should be fairly simple and safe considering the in week qualy system used , the steward will just make note of the tire used .

If we were doing qualy same day as race same lounge as race then we would have to worry about all kinds of bugs and loopholes with the game .

I think qualifying should be 'bigger' this year. By saying that we will have more time to set a fast lap. At least when we were discussing it that was the idea. So instead of a 4 lap race with 2 hot laps counting, I was thinking more like a 5 or 6 lap single race with 3 or 4 hot laps counting. These cars just get faster as the fuel burns off, and IRL they have next to no fuel in the cars when they set their qualifying times- we run on a full tank!

I would say do the two tire thing but just split rooms via time not tire. Gives the risk to the medium tire qualifiers to make sure to make the room. Also makes things easier on stewards.

Qualifying should just stay the same as it is now.

1 - You can't split the best soft with the best medium in room 1 as it's unfair for the people that will qualify for room 1 and be moved to room 2, meaning they can't finish higher than 10th for example.

2 - Fuel doesn't make a difference as everyone will be on full fuel making it equal, and if you make qualifying longer it will still be even as everyones fuel will burn off the same and everyone will still be equal.

3 - Agree that making it too complicated will discourage people from joining.

4 - Like i said early this risk about medium tyres will only go on for one or 2 races as the numbers will no doubt drop.

And for the people that want to qualify on mediums all you have to do is wait until the last hour of the time limit and see if your average time will beat the slower guys on softs, if so then go for it and if not then go for softs.

I will be on quite often after this friday. If you make me a steward I would be around a lot to qualify people.

Why don't we have it so the top 4/5 have to use the tyres they quali on we know who they are it will make the contenders take risks more and give us slows a chance for a good position

You can't have 1 rule for some and 1 rule for others, it has to be fair and consistant. There isn't anything wrong with the way qualifying is now. It's normal and fair for everyone.

That's not true. People were asking for more qualifying time because they couldn't put a lap together on laps 2 or 3. So with 5 or 6 laps, they have a better chance at getting that perfect lap. And some people don't come into the fray with their cars at first so it takes a couple laps for them to get in the groove. Also it's not true about fuel, because some cars burn fuel at a faster rate than others. What I was proposing was tire wear/fuel wear on 'FAST' during qualifying with a 5 lap race.

Do we have any rules about being forced to use both compounds?

The difference between different cars burning fuel at different rates will be ungodly minimal, especially within only 6 laps. Not even worth mentioning unless we are talking about the 16 of GT Academy.
