So ive been angry how I cannot sustain a drift in this game. Im pretty good at gt4, nfs2 and etc..but I hadnt figured out this game, at least until last night.
I set up my 24sx for acouple hours and finally Im getting some sustained drifts..

lol its so easy to drift in this game.

Im guessing you just pull the e-brake and slide right?

Im talking about different types of drifts. Lift off, power over, feinting. Not just flying around pulling the ebrake every corner.

Doing stuff such as manji in the straights.

actually I never use the ebrake, I do fient and power overs, but its a little something called practice that you can do to learn it how to drift. Also I do alot of breaking drifts,
when I pull the ebrake in the trueno you just spin out.

need some help guys. im doing the test for the sponsor "endless rain". its iroha A, uphill, wet. you guys have any tips for driving this damn s2k up the hill? im exactly 4 seconds back :( of 4'49'133

ah what a pain  :scared:

It's not like a real parking brake, you just have to caress the button so you don't do a 360. I don't use the handbrake BTW I just slide enough to get around the hairpin, or if I'm in a AWD car I just grip through it.

Put some lower-grip tires on the back and set your braking power for more rear brake bias than front brake bias. Should do the trick. 👍

This game doesn't do a very good job of simulating drifting -- it isn't realistic, but it isn't particularly simple or fun (IMO), either. Gameplay like Outrun 2 or Ridge Racer would have worked wonders here.

Nonetheless, it's still tolerable enough to enjoy playing it, especially since the CA points are easy to get, and you don't have to drift for a lot of the races.

TXR drift has the best balance between real and virtual....i still don't understand why ppl are comparing this game to Outrun or Ridge Racer...those games are crap....

btw, i'm at lvl 32 Serial Racer....is that the highest level?...

i only have 6 "????" left to beat....i know they are all in Iroha A....but i have no clue what to do to meet them in the PA at night

If I were one to put forum quotes in my sig, this would be a perfect nominee...

An avid fan of Tokyo Xtreme Racer drift who hates Outrun and Ridge Racer...correct me if I'm wrong, but would you happen to be less than fifteen years old, a big fan of the Fast and the Furious movies, and have a subscription to Modified Mag?

you are totally wrong....i'm 21....

if you are telling me that tap on the brakes twice and the car goes sideway is called drifting, then play outrun and ridge racer....they are for YOU

i know drifting is not an easy task in real life, but being a gamer, TXRD is much better than most so called "drift" arcade games....making the physics too hard to control also can kill a game's fun factor....

just think whatever you'd like to thing about me.....i really like this game....and willing to wait for Crave to import Kaido Battle 3......

btw, i'm not FnF, initial D fan.....which proves you wrong again......

Outrun and Ridge Racers, my friend, accomplish everything they are meant to do: bring surreal fun with surreal physics. They are a completely different genres from "more serious" games. I agree that TXRD is the blend of realism and fun factor without displeasing large crowds, but this trait also blurs its characteristics as well:nervous: . I think that's what Wolfex27 is trying to point out.

Welcome to Gtplanet.:)

I guess I was wrong, then. Forgive me for thinking you were some immature preteen -- an easy impression to get from someone who hates two of the most popular and more importantly, classic racing game franchises ever.

Anyway, drifting is popular because it's fun to do, not because it's difficult to do. I like realistic drifting just as much as the next drift-happy racing-sim fan -- which is why I do most of my drifting in Live for Speed or Enthusia -- but in the end, fun is what it's all about, and as NSX-R pointed out, Ridge Racer and Outrun 2 deliver that fun in spades.

Personally, I think that the drifting in TXR:D / Kaido Battle isn't very realistic, but it isn't particularly fun, either. That's why I felt that it would have been a better game with Outrun- or Ridge-Racer-style physics. Asking for realistic physics is almost completely out of the question -- I like Genki's games and all, but they simply aren't capable of programming realistic physics.

i have the evo tuned but i am not good with settings and stuff, but i see that i need a better line from watching your video.

seems like i need more practice : )

I will post another vid once i get some more practice in, and also find some better settings for my car.

and thanks mr.deep, i will keep at it.

It's hard to tell the difference when typing into word what differ from the driving. As you can see, my entry is different. Most people only focus on the apex & forgetting about the entry point & not being enough at the outside, making the car tail out at the exit due to too much weight at the front. The IS300 was stock(Poor acceleration & grip). You can see the Evo eating the whole downhill, but keeping up somehow with the video comparison. Being far outside allow you to be more stable at the exit giving you more traction also. Though it require practise, cause the corner feel a lot different from your current style.

TXRD battle

I finally obtain a race car. To race was really unfair in both side.

Mr. Deap, you and I tackle Haruna EXACTLY the same, corner for corner. But your time seems very slow for an Altezza, 5:08? My 156PS AE86 Trueno can get 4:44 with little effort and my tuning ablity is very minimal. Was your SXE10 stock? I need answers!!!! please. :sly:

yebah!

got the game and i have to say that its quite interesting to drift here.. i drift at GT4 a lot but im having issues here.. im having a hard time drifting but heck, almost everyone had this issue right.. oh and by the way,do they have the toyota chaser or JZX100 here.. could you pls post pics of it.. thanks..
