Kaz responds "A Little Break" for #7 events

Perhaps this got just a bit more intense/serious than it should be. By all means, we shouldn't be too upset over this. Yes, they said they'd update it weekly, but at least its on a week that we can spectate that something's up (whether it'd be the holidays, GT Academy problems, or maybe that GT Driver's Club stuff). This isn't happening on a random week. It's not like they completely forgot about it, nor is it like their 5th time doing it. Besides, they updated the OCD, even if that means little to us.

We have our next, supposedly, major update coming up... so really, one week of seasonal events MIA should not have been something that's this big of a discussions, especially under the circumstances right now. We have to remember that they're not exactly the biggest company (in terms of employment) out there, so we should expect some things to slip. Heck even, big companies slip some stuff. There's a big difference between a delay, and something that's been canceled. A delay shouldn't be something we should be upset about because in the end, we're getting it, and in PD's case, its mostly because they're tight on schedule, or perhaps in this case... "a little break"...?

Dude, you're new here, so you can be excused for missing how facetious that comment was. In the future however, check stuff like say the number of posts the user has, and threads started (it's the number by your name) and ask yourself, would he really not know the answer to that question.

Yeah on review I get he was probably joking. Can't tell over internet that well ya know...
 
I'm still amazed by the amount of people that think PD are above criticism and dismiss all arguments with the 'well go and play Forza' comment. PD could have shipped people a donut in a GT5 box and I guess there'd still be pro PD comments.

Some of you are obviously the sort of people that could be served a cold meal in a restaurant and eat it without complaint (and no, you're not in a sushi bar).

So since he's new here he must also be excused for not knowing that sometimes when you're trying to be helpfull, someone 'older and wiser' will smack you upside the head with their sarcasm hammer, guess he learned his lesson.

Kaz is the producer and director of GT5 and the head of Polyphony Digital Inc. Basically the man responsible for the GT series.

I still stand by my comments regarding a developers obligations, the game works and any service they provide is at their discretion.

People should stop jumping on the bandwagon and expecting something for nothing.
 
If you feel ripped off: read the reviews and AFTER THAT buy the game. Then you don't have to whine that much.
I hear people say they have to repeat races EVERY DAY. DUH, how many days is the game available and how many games give gamers new content/new things to do EVERY DAY (and only for $60)?
Some people act like they've paid thousand of dollars for this game and thus have the right to demand all sorts of content/updates/dlc etc. I know games that cost the same and offer like 0,1% of what GT is offering looking at real fun gametime.
And +400 posts of ranting about a promise of weekly updates that aren't there (even if PD "promised" us, but because the GT Academy there is a delay) sounds like spoiled brats to me, yes flame me for it.

I do enjoy the game for what it is (and receive any bonus with a smile) and accept that because some people can't behave themselves and spoil an Academy round by corner cutting etc (knowing what the academy is for), we have to wait a week. OH NO A WEEK'S WAITING. I WILL JUMP OF A BUILDING NOW BECAUSE I DON"T HAVE A LIFE and dunno what to do with my time but stare at the update screen hoping for new content.

Because of your ranting maybe PD will indeed say, GO F%# youself and play FM3. I for one wouldn't blame them.
 
People don't expect something for nothing, that's not the point. People are just asking for when the producer chooses to come forward with a message, it could as well be one with relevance to actual happenings.
 
Seasonal Events, seasoal Events........Dont you see that all this part of the game Gran Turismo 5 was like a GREAT SEASONAL EVENT since beginning, promises from Kaz, dozen of delays of game release, luck of information...We got a 50-60% finished product, I'm shure GT6 is in progress. GT5 was just a bone to a dog to quinch our thirst. This is a half made product between GT4 and GT6, so we must just play what we have and dont demand too much from PD who never fullfill their promisses in past 3 years...PEACE

from my point of view , and i think im not alone in this one, lot of ppl feel rip off , because they been promisse a lot and gt5 didnt delivered , you are sayin that gt6 is been made , ok , but soo is fm4 , ill see if they still could make me by another gt title, ive played fm3 and liked a lot.
who knows if like my a lot of gt fans ill change sides because of gt5.

Cheers. Interestingly I thought GT was an american game line-lots of left hand drivers, vauxhall called Opel (actually German but its the name the yanks use) and car models with non european names (nissan micra=March, Hyundai coupe=trueno and lots of Skylines, which we dont get over here.

As far as I know we get vauxhall in uk but opel in europe and most of the world, the others are widely used all over the world as well mainly japanese.

Like the shogun, its actually a pajero which just happens to mean something entirely different in italy
(or spain) I know its not in the game but its the same car but branded differently for our market.

Edit:Pajero according the Spanish Dictionary means "the person who masturbates very often."

Maybe they're just working on getting the remote B-Spec thing up and running.
 
Kaz and PD counted on fans when they were making great PR mission befor GT5 release.
Its obvious, that we were promised a lot to expect from the game. And NOW THEY ARE entirely RESPONSIBLE for ALL that crap which is going through the game and hasnt been fixed yet. We didnt get product that we were sured waiting for, they dont give a damn about word flown from there mouths or oficially posted. I like this game, but I cannot do nothing to get rid of feeling that I was pissed off by Polyfony Digital in tandem with KAZ.
This is a remote product, I cannot bring this back to his ( KAZ ) office and scratch B-Ray disc in front of him. WE NEED TO ARISE A STRIKE
 
The revolution is coming! Kaz, i dont know, after gt5 failure how are you going to clirify yourself and make people believe that gt series would finally arise from hell where you forsed this game to go, you have spend too many times with traveling around the world, participating in other events......just hand over the management of development to the one who will at least have the game beta-tested before sending it to shelves of markets.
 
A lot of people here act as if the seasonal events are some kind of bonus that we should just be grateful to receive. But the seasonal events were added because the credits/xp progression in this game is completely broken. The number of events is small compared to GT4 and FM3. It is reasonable for people to expect more events.

Creating new events should not be difficult.

If creating new events is so difficult that they can't setup a new event in a few minutes then there is something terribly wrong with the way they programmed the game.
 
THE PROBLEM IS KAZUNORY YAMAUCHI, WHO IS LOBBYING HIS OWN GODDAMMNKNOW interests, which normal people can not understand. May be we have to become Japaneese to get his policy right?!?! Seasonal Events dont really matter for me, because it is just a one more chance for us to take a close look on PD and Kaz...They show NO respect of people they are taking money from! The efficiency of cooperation is not productive, because there is no cooperation at all. Between fans and developers I mean.

You have ever right you wish, except this is a private site and I'm glad moderators seem to be cracking down on the constant complaints as they serve no purpose.

Thus like others have said, do something productive and trade it in for another game.

But most people here bought a PS3 and a wheel (plus the game) just to play it - its over $500 - if you sell it all you loose a lot of money

I did too. I bought a PS3 a year ago and pre ordered the game at the same time, then bought a G27 and built a stand. So I'm out close to $800... yet am I?

I'm going to use the wheel for other games, like I have used the PS3 for other games, so it is an investment, not a loss. Anyone who will only use the PS3 for GT5 is either in the very slim minority, or lying and being a drama queen on this site for no good purpose.

Were lucky I guess. We bought the ps3 with christmas money and I got the game as a christmas present from the kids! So no room for complaint from me! Sure the game isnt perfect but for one who cant drive a real car this is the business!
