This heading pretty much describes my feelings to a tee. But what are your thoughts? I dont think he is the right person to keep the GT series fresh and new and this game is proof of that imo.

Kaz has made the most independently unique style of game on the PS3 market!

He has ignored games such as need for speed, shift, COD, GRID, TDU and F1, to keep GT's pure 'free' feel.

There's no waiting in lobby screens, no ridiculous cinematic in menus, and no single progression path in the game.

Id go the latter. He clearly seems to have no idea what he's on about... Handing PD over to EA, Yea, 'cause thats the smartest move.

PD should hand the game over to Criterion or Bethesda or EA, they are clearly over their heads making this simple car game.

To my understanding, Gran Turismo needs Kaz. He is the genius behind it, and while GT5 is a very flawed game in my opinion, we wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for him. Gran Turismo doesn't really work with Kaz, but it doesn't work without him either. Pedantic visionaries like him are needed to bring projects like this to life, as sad as it is.

Honestly, if this was any other sub-forum, I'd assume you were just being sarcastic. But sadly, you're probably dead serious.

He should be fired = racing/car history game missing E30 M3? Would be like World History book not having WW1 in it.

Only if WW1 was owned by Pepsi and their licencing terms were prohibitively expensive, if they licenced it only to certain books or if they refused to licence it to any book that mentioned World War 2 By Coke...

The world of licencing is bizarre. Do you know that PD can't use their own models from GT1 even if the car modelled is still in GT5 for promotional purposes as it breaches the terms of their licencing agreement? Lest you think this is ridiculous, this comes directly (to me) from the press office at SCEJ.


Sometimes there are some really bizarre decisions and choices coming from PD, but it's not always completely their fault. We could do with some explanations though, which is probably their biggest flaw as a studio.

Not so much of an opinion from the OP as it is a lack of clarification. He doesn't show why Kaz should be sacked. Saying this game is proof of that is ridiculous, loads of people still play it daily.

Well, the answer is yes. It depends on what you write and what your intention is. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean that you can share it in any way you like. Opening a thread saying "Kaz should be fired" is hardly a good way.

What do you know about Kazunori's strengths and weaknesses as a producer? What do you know about the development of GT5? What do you know about the future of the franschise?

Agreed, but there is like every little occasion on that has to do with GT or DLC's there are like tons of threads beeing opend like "omg this is sooo weak" or "Omg this is so expencive" I would say make a general complain thread so people that are frustrated with prices or something else people want to give off their chest can go there and post.
