Shall be interesting to see if Wanda Sykes can tear into him.

Does this deserve a thread?

Why not?

1. Everything doesn't need to be stuffed inside a 2000-post mega-thread.

2. Calling every new topic "The Unofficial GTPlanet _____ _____ Thread" is extremely boring. We get it, we're here already, it's an Internet forum with threads...if everyone could stop adding more officious-sounding titles, that would be great.

3. Season is over - any info is usable info.

Agree with Pupik but a dash of formatting and info would be grand.

Title: Lewis Hamilton To Appear On Jimmy Kimmel

I'm somewhat suspecting this Hamilton US talkshow tour is part of Bernies plan to boost the popularity of F1 "over there".

I'd say @ukfan758 is right, late night talk shows and certain media groups have had a fascination for racing and the heroes but at a distance per say. For example when Vettel won his 3rd title he appeared on the tonight show with Letterman, and so did Damon Hill and other drivers. And Letterman isn't the only one, Leno has done it and on and on.

I recall Letterman invited Nigel Mansell onto his show back in '93. He'd invite F1 drivers to visit, usually coinciding with Grand Prix occurring somewhere in North America. Indy 500 winners were also part of the mix, because he was a huge racing fan.

Let's not forget that Letterman is neck-deep in racing as it is.

Well CNN has done several interviews with many racing heroes and this isn't the first time 60-minutes has talked to a driver either. It's one of those things where as I said, it's a secret or distant intrigue with racing heroes that television personalities give into from time to time. Usually as many of us know NASCAR is the one that tends to get the most attention here for the obvious.

Having watched the 60 minutes segment I was very impressed and very much liked how professional it was. Overall I'm personally glad Charlie Rose didn't bring his personal life into the conversation..I say this because if it were done by a european broadcaster it would be more about Nicole rather than his career.

Really? Rubbish. Perhaps you form your opinion by looking at buzzfeednewsclickbait sites?

Question: which driver won the World Championship in his second season of competition, dyed his hair blond for no good reason, and started a second career as a musician?

If you answered "Jacque Villeneuve", you'd be wrong.

More importantly who cares? I feel this thread was created more in the sense that America media is actually talking to an F1 driver more so than usual. Perhaps there is something to Bernie wanting to do some "tour".

After watching the clip on the CBS website, it seems like his music is as bland as he is, really. I probably won't be streaming such hits like 'J'adore' and 'Lookin' At You'.

It's nice to see he's doing something vaguely intriguing though.

I'm a fan but, thought he would show his talent of playing the guitar for 17 years. I was slightly embarrassed listening to that bit of popcorn "music".

I thought it was alright, however there was that one part where Charlie said "the ultimate driving machine".... That was just a big no no right there, almost had to get up and go.

People who are looking for a steady source of ammunition for the caption contest?

Glad you said something, cause not many would have known that not so obvious tid bit.

I've seen his guitar stuff, and I have to agree what's the point of learning an instrument and talking about being passionate toward music...and not bringing the two together...

He's going into music to "really be himself", so does that mean being a douchebag in on & off the racecourse wasn't his choosing?
