I agree that a lot of cars/race cars were left out that would have made it easier to set up a series. I have not seen any of your vids, sorry.

I have been a GT fan since the first game & GT is pretty much the only game I play. I waited to purchase my PS3 until GT5 was released for the sole purpose of playing GT5.

It would be great fun to be your Tech Advisor but that would take away time from me being able to play GT5 as much as I would like. That happens to be every waking moment I am able to. Thank you for the offer.

Ahh so you probably know the cars inside out. Cool. I would like recreate this but I know it's impossible for more than a few reasons but what do you think could come close?

What about the WTCC? You think any cars, premimum could recreate that series?

I figure I couldn't put you on the "payroll" full time. lol. But I hope you don't mind me shooting you some questions from time to time.

Watch how the girl has a "crisis" when the car turns on....that is why this car is awesome, it turns frigid women into giggling school girls.

Thats why it costs $400 large.

I'm sure if I saw an LFA in the wild I would be giggling like a school girl too.

No no I don't know the cars inside & out but have driven/played the GT series enough to know what a lot of the cars are like. Anything is possible but it will take a good amount of work on your end to do the testing of the cars you want in the series you're trying to create.

Looking @ the regulations for that series it's defintely feasible to recreate that with premium cars. Once again though it will require you to test the cars you want to use in your racing series to match them up accordingly.

Sure not a problem & I will help out as much as I am able to.

Cool, thanks man. My only problem is getting the cash to get the cars and test them out. The seasonal series looks like they went back to being cheapskate races so the influx of mega cash is over. I had a family trauma come up and wasn't able to get all of that last mega money seasonal event. Got some of it but not all.

I'll figure something out and when I need an extra brain on the situation I'll be sure to hit you up.

Real life trumps ANY video game no matter what.

The payout on the previous rounds of the seasonal events was nice but I like the additional races & that's enough for me. I'm Lvl 32 A-spec so I know where to grind for fast cash.

PM or VM & I'll try to help out.

Cool thanks, I'm gonna get on now and try to compare a BMW with a Golf. See if I can get them to match up for a WTCC thing.
PS: I should have made my forum name 87civicsi. Man I miss that car. It drove like a video game. LOL

My screenname is a tribute my old '02 Civic Si & that's what I've always used on all the forums I'm on. I had to sell it to get my current car which is the '07 Civic Si sedan.

'87 Civic Si is a sweet car too

If you pay to become a Premium member then you will have the ability to change your screenname.

I'd have to keep it real if I did so I'd have to change it to "YAWN" or "07Impala" which are both the same. :(

I decided to buy the LFA just for the hell of it. Man that car stinks. I didn't do any upgraded. What's so hot about that car? I'm sure if I threw some Sports Soft or Racing tires on it I would like it better but if it comes with Sports Hard then I'd like to see what it does in stock form. Nothing to write home about.

Are you using a FFB wheel? With the DS3, the only reason to like a car is that it wins you races. With wheel and it helps if you run the FFB as high as possible, you get the sense of what the car's about.

I got the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel with Clubsport Pedals.

Well I pitted the Puegoet 207 sti '07 against the Ford Focus '07. They are very close in performance but I think I'd give the 207 a little more power than the Focus. They Focus handles better in my opinion so to compensate I'll give the 207 a few more horses. The idea is to have the cars be competitive but not identical in performance. Let one have an advantage in one department while the other in another department. I put them both on Racing Hards and the performance was close. Did the datalogger and pretended I knew what I was looking at. lol

You need skillllls to run it boyyyy.

Wish that Lexus made it a mid-ship, but for an FR, it'll beat most cars in it's class if driven properly.

Although it's direct competitor, the 458, will probably hand it to the LFA in a straight line or around a bend unfortunately.

You run with ABS on or off?

Just checked and FM3 doesn't have the 320si either, hell don't even have the 320i. Oh well , I guess I'm buttf'ed in either game with regards to recreating that WTCC since that BMW seems to be an iconic part of that series, as well as the Chevy Cruze, which neither game has either.

THe LF-A is more than a match for the stock Ferrari 599GTB. It's faster around a track ie Nordeschleif. EVO mag compared it directly to the Ferrari and the Lexus won for better handling, engine and driver involvement.

PD definitely hosed the car in the game. Gear ratio's are all wrong compared to the real car which is why it feels sluggish. Should be a much closer gearbox ratio's for a high-strung V10. When they update the f**in custom gearbox I plan on matching the real ratios and expect the car to fly

The stock GTB is out dated, I'm sure the newer GTO would kill it, and then wear the carcass.:sly:

Yeah the gear ratios are way out, you barely need 6th down the straight at the Nordschleife

Driven it a bit more with everything off except ABS on sports hards. Don't know what to think about it really. In my hands it's definitely slower than GT-R v-spec and 430 Scuderia. There is power but it feels unstable and i don't have full confidence in it when going in to a corner. I wonder if i should give up my principles and give it adjustable suspension to try to make it more stable.

I tried it with ABS set to 1 instead of 0 and of course it may it extremely more stable. It might be one of those cars that just has to be on ABS 1 unless anyone here has tamed it with all assists off and ABS 0.

I've noticed that too, even down the Mulsanne straight at Le Sarthe I never even hit 6th sometimes. I haven't looked at the gearing of it in the game, but here's the original for reference ;)

Gear: Ratio
1: 3.231
2: 2.188
3: 1.609
4: 1.233
5: 0.970
6: 0.795
Reverse: 3.587
Final Drive: 3.417

depends what do you mean by tamed? i have no problem with it on the brakes, it's the turn in the mid corner understeer that kills it. always run without aids and a 4/2 bias.

Obviously from your answer you've missed the point I was trying to make. Or if you did, I'm not getting the answer you've put forth.

The LFA in real life despite the higher power rating and obviously price, is a less of a performance cars than a Nissan R35 GTR.

Track GT-R LF-A
Top Gear Track 1:19.70 1:22.80 w
Nordschleife 7:26.70 7:38.00
Hockenheim Short 1:10.70 1:11.00
SportAuto wet handling test 1:32.40 1:35.50
Autocar Dry Handling Track 1:10.10 1:11.60
Goodwood 1:27.70 1:22.62

Disregard the TG testing because of the different conditions and Goodwood because of the different drivers, you can see that the LFA is not a fast nor as good handling as the GTR. What makes it it a great car is that like all well designed FR, it's require more input from the driver. Being more involved, it makes the driver a happier driver. Thus, making the LFA a driver's car.

You asked me if I was using a wheel and I told you which one I was using. The other part of the post was related to the other posts I made in this thread with other forum members. You probably wasn't reading the entire thread and missed those parts.

IDk if you have seen this t.o. but you will be very happy I'm sure.

HUGE step in the right direction. Oh man there's hope. (Actually I did see this but PD has me in the "I'll believe it when I see it" frame of mind. After getting me all pysched up about being able to upload videos and now nothing I'm cautious about getting my hopes up and hope it's implemented in a useful manner)

I hear you but if the PP does come to fruition on the the 18th then you'll be one step closer to achieving the racing series you want to create. I am curious to see how the PP will be implemented in GT5.

I'm "guardedly optimistic" that it will be implemented in a useful manner. It will definitely help with online play for sure. If they can get a few more tweaks (well alot) and add some more cars we'll be close. Not really worried about the cars so much. Just gotta work with what we got but need more options.

I hated the gear ratios on this car, so I go out and buy a Fully customisable transmission for it. Drop the top speed and take it out on the track, I can barely hear it over the tranny :ouch:. I play with clutch by the way so downshifting sounds really annoying . It's okay from chase cam but I can't play like that.

As for the car it's pretty good but I was expecting better I'd give it 7/10 overall stock.

Thanks for the real life time comparison. I was under impression that the two cars were more equal, but was wrong. If that is the reality of it then i got the LFA to act quite realistically as my times in Nordschleife are only little slower for both cars (online with sports hard and only ABS on 1). :)

I assume you have not seen the top gear episode on the LFA. They pretty much come to the same conclusion as you. 400,000 for something marginally better than a GTR but at a 300,000 premium.

Its still an awesome car, kinda like the new Lancia Stratos. 500,000 for a Ferrari 430 with a body kit but I'm sure they are already all sold out just like the LFA is.

1. Top Gear is a horrible source for accurate / truthful information. Top Gear is funny but unfortunately they've misinformed a lot of people in the process.

They also say "the only reason people buy a Porsche Boxster / Cayman is because they couldn't afford a 911". Now anybody with the slightest bit of sense understands this isn't true but TG still says crap like this for laughs. The sad part is that some people watching their show actually take them seriously as if they know WTF their talking about.

2. Comparing the LF-A to the GT-R is blasphemy. Yes the GT-R puts down great numbers on the track due to all it's computer - electronic wizardry and dumb proof AWD. Sure if you don't know how to drive you might enjoy it.

But in terms of just about everything else that matter it's sub par compared to many other sports cars including the Lexus LF-A.

To write off the Lexus LF-A because it happens to be a "Lexus" cost 375k and barely quicker than a GTR is pretty ignorant at best.

I would wager that 99.9%% of those downplaying the LF-A have not driving one
nor even seen one in real life for that matter.

Regardless, every creditable entity (Not silly TG) that has tested the LF-A has been extremely impressed with the LF-A.

And in terms of a driver's car (in real life) the LF-A has been rated amongst the very best. This is something that cannot be said
about the GT-R as even a 65k E92 More enjoyable / rewarding to drive. In real life driving a GT-R isn't too much unlike driving it on PS3- video gamish.

I would get a Italia over the LFA. :)
