Edited the poll, with an option that should have been there from the start, and that also makes the poll less biased.

Anything costing less than 100,000 credits should have never made it into GT5.

You know you are able to not buy cheap cars right? The rest of us aren't able to buy cars not in the game.

If they got rid of 1 miata, and kept a ford falcon.

So I guess that the TVR Tuscan, Lotus Elise, Caterham, Impreza, Lancer etc shouldn't be in this game?

All you people want is supercars, tuners and X1's. You have no imagination for odd and slow cars. The game would not be a GT game if it wasn't for theses odd cars which have been with us since GT1.

From what i have read on this topic Gran Turismo is not the series for you if all that you want is fast cars.

I agree. After all, this is a DRIVING simulator, not a "Supercar" simulator.

Yawn.

You don't drive supercars.

This Driving simulator tag is getting beyond a joke.

If you drink a can of Red bull, please don't jump of a high building.

Oh, if you eat a fairy cake your not being mean to fairy's either.

This poll makes no sense...

All the "Standard" cars shouldn't be in this game imo, they're so last gen.

👎

Get rid of the useless variations of the Miata, RX-7, and Skylines for starters. They clog up the UCD, making it harder to find cars you really want.

I smell trolling. And a whole truck load of it!

Hopeless thread.
Every car is worth being in this game.

I don't mind there being all these so-called "pointless" cars - it's a laugh to buy the odd 60's Japanese Car and throw it around corners as fast as you can to see if they'll tip, or do one-make races in Daihatsu's. However, what really bugs me is the overwhelming amount of RX-7's, Skylines, MX-5's etc. They should be reduced in number.

Because it's A RACING game!

I'm a big fan of Volvos, truth be known. The S-60 is gorgeous. But some of these are in no way going to be on a track outside of this game. Cars like an '88 Honda Accord 4 door. This is not the driving to the grocery store simulator. If it is, then Kaz had better get to work on a BIG patch with a bunch of Kroger's in it.

I have a sneaking suspicion a bunch of PD employees simply wanted to either see their cars or the ones they had in high school...

Nope, it's the real driving simulator.

But why Daihatsu?

Getting rid of the "slow" cars just for being not racing suitable doesn't sound like a way to improve the game.

I'm much more concern about the unnecessary duplicates that are in the game.

i don't want them to take any cars off the game i want them to add more :D

5 votes for the I-miev... but 15 for the Volvo.
The Jalop Gods are infuriated.

Any car is 'raceable.' Not any car will make for a good race. You don't see people racing Honda Accords and Volvos for a reason. They're not designed for it and were never intended to be raced.
I'm 900% sure that the Volvo 240 was raced. Professionally. For many, many years. In both wagon and sedan form.

And why wouldn't it be? In real life it is a fairly lightweight car that happened to be RWD when most of its contemporaries had switched to an FF layout.

So has anyone ever figured if you take out the duplicates how many cars we REALLY have?
900-ish. Maybe less. I've never actually counted, and I keep putting off doing so.

Cant really say i hate any cars in the game... Im not too mad about street cars like the nissan canopy exa or whatever... But i am wondering what happened to the hyundai accent rally car. Lol imo it looks amazing and it was one of my favorite cars. :) the fact that its missing from the gt5 list confuses me. Most of gt4s cars are in 5

As has been pointed out to the OP a number of times, GT is a "driving simulator", not a "racing game". Hence so many "family" and compact cars, whereas something like Forza generally only has sports or racing cars. There is a lot more emphasis in GT on how ALL types of cars perform, testing or racing if you so wish. There are still hundreds of sports and racing cars in the game.

If you don't like the slower more pedestrian cars, fair enough but it's very much a matter of opinion and ultimately PD never suggested it was a "racing game" only. So what you are doing is suggesting cars you don't like or don't enjoy in the game, but not sure what your basis is that they "shouldn't even be in this game" when it seems to be your own criteria.

They are boring grocery getters. Street racers aside, outside of GT1-5 I would be willing to bet nobody does race them.

You do realise that Volvo won the 1985 European Touring Car Championship right? With a 240 Turbo? And that the 200-series Volvos remain very popular amateur rally cars in Scandinavia?

Or that the 3rd generation Accord was one of the best-handling compact sedans of its day with double-wishbone suspension at all four corners? While the Accord wasn't raced to the extent that the 240 was, the fact is that it was easily among the best handling FF cars of the late 1980s.

Dude, no offence but why do you even bother having this game? Gran turismo was made for true car lovers, and I´m glad there is a game that doesn´t discriminate ANY type of car...

*takes stock VW Bus for a drive at The Ring*

My VW Shwimsomethingwagon finds this thread disturbing...

The Suzuki Swift does race, it's used in rallying and rallycross.

CORRECT!
I´ve always said that a more "balanced" car list that avoids unnecessary duplicates is what GT needs. This is an example of how a well balanced car list would look like: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=147199
