the reason i'm stressing about this is my holidays start in december and finish at the start of march. so if the game is to be released in march, i won't even be able to play it so it's either december/jan or nothing as far as i'm concearned

Hmmm... This is not good.. My local game pusher has removed the arrival date (was 14th of December last week) from the "up and coming" section of their page...

the Nippon Ver. sold 28 april 2001

us July 10, 01

pal dont remember ( sep-dec01)

so there are 3 Big "Places" of SONY.

AMERICA / EUROPE / JAPAN ---> NTSC US / PAL / NTSC JP

so srz for Australia / China / Africa etc... sony never "had" put intrest into this Countries...look now KOREA news---2 JEARS and only 2 mio PS2.......

So sorry for you,but i think GT4 offline will sold this Year and ONLINE next Year.
They do not the same mistake like last Year.If they want to SELL the new PS2.They must sell all there TOPGAMES.

I think we will see Bundels with GT4 and NEW PS2 and many others......

As you can see,Sony AMERICA never did the same thing like SONY EUROPE or NIPPON---> HardDisc p.e. they "work" alone as Company of SONY JAPAN .....

all 3 will sold this year, maybe the PAL one-->dec04-jan-feb05 because of the Christmas Market.....

cu ( srz for my bad english )

I can remember this 'deverstating' news from this time last year!!!!

...i'm now taking bets for November 2006

My gut feeling is that the offline version will be available for Christmas sales, and the online version next year. That way they can sell two copies of the game to those wanting to play now, but have online features.

Either that, or Sony sucks.

i may now be wrong maybe it is the online version of gt4 in 2005 cause would'nt ign.com be one of the first to know about the delay if their is one

hay we can all live in hope can't we

I can assure you that the extra wait for the PAL edition of GT3 was most certainly not worth while.

Oh yeah, the removal of 6 F1 cars based on real life ones being replaced with 2 Mix and match ones was really worth it. As was removing the models of the Diablo, 911 GT3 and the stratos. Oh and the mismatch replay.

I think:

Scrap Photo Mode
Scrap B Spec Mode
Stop pissing about with demos.
Get game out asap.

It will not be sub-standard, they've spent ages on it already!

I'll second that!!!

...although they have just released this info on 'Photo mode':

"The photograph of the 2L edition of GT4 ' Photo mode is the panel which the amount equipment is done with amount of the paper make. Reservation benefit transfers when purchasing. Benefit as soon as to be gone, becomes end. As for the picture of Graphic Frame there are 5 types. Furthermore, we cannot receive the appointment of the picture. Acknowledgement you ask beforehand."

which softens the blow and makes everything ok 👍

PD shafts us once again

Yes, as Bart says, "I didn't think it was physically possible, but this sucks and blows at the same time!" :grumpy:

I know GT4 is only a game, but it's the only goddamn game I play, and I'd classify it more as a hobby than a game, so these setbacks really put a crimp in my day... the fact that the release date in Japan is (seemingly) set in stone for 3rd December, it would be quite unusual for a PAL release to follow so soon after (14-20 Dec), but Feb-Mar 2005 is ridiculous, given that we've been fobbed off since around September 2003 already.... :ouch:

Well, it's like we've seen before. I'm betting on the Asian version making the deadline, the US version making it before Christmas, and the EU version being delayed until whenever, no idea. *sigh*

I ordered the two Asian versions and am hoping IGN will send me a copy of the US version.

i dont believe this. ive just spent time, money and stress getting my DFP and attaching it to a frame to play properly, ive adjusted from dual shock to wheel, ive even got my drifting down, brought the lap times to within a couple of sex of what they used to be, got rid of gt3, (why would i need it anymore) avoided toca race driver 2 cos i want gt4, i want gt4, i want gt4. and now i have to tell everyone it isnt out till next year?
madness.
utter madness.
this cant be true.
someone post that it isnt....... please.......

soooooooo.... Are us NTSCers are still cool for the December release?

that's all I need to know. :)

Vexd, totally sympathise with your frustation, as many others here no doubt will as well... I've just installed broadband, hoping that GT4 would be with me in December... but chucking GT3? What were you thinking man!? Are you nuts? Prologue and the GT4 BMW Demo might be far more advanced than GT3, but GT3 is still the Daddy, by a long long way... go and find the person you sold/gave it to, and wrestle it back off them... believe me, you're gonna need it! :D

If it's all true, and if the date is not for the online version, which I highly doubt.

at least PD aren't as bad as Rareware. They took like 7 years to make Perfect dark. And Kameo was supposed to be a launch title for gamecube.

bah this sucks if its true.. i bought a new ps2 not long ago just for GT4.. and now the ps2 has come down in price again... grrrrr. ohwell, if this is all true then it will make the game better, will give PD more time to refine it. :)

Please PD don't delay the game.
All of us need our Gran Turismo Fix.
Those of us with nothing better to do especially.
How can you do this to us?
Each time I hear about a delay to GT4 I cry a little.
Truly I do
I need to be alone with GT3 right now, it'll ease the pain.
Close but yet so far.

There are other games and even ways to pass time till GT4, hell you'd think something life threatening or life changing had been delayed the way some people are acting. If you bought a DFP, good use it, buy TOCA RD2 or use it on other games, if you bought broadband, great use it for surfing the internet, buying music, watching vids and playing games. GT4 is important but jeez some of you people act as if it's god. Okay it's been delayed fair enough, but stop counting every second until the 2nd no wait 4th coming of GT4 otherwise everytime there's a delay it's as if the Apocalypse has just been confirmed or something.

PS it hasn't officially been confirmed yet but more than likely it will be delayed.

With GTA coming out next week, and Halo 2 coming in 3 weeks, you won't find me weeping in the streets.

*recommends that doesnt happen* :)

GT4 is in danger of becoming the 'Apocalypse Now' of the gaming world... :indiff:

Come on people, be a little more corporate sensitive.

It is a global market, yes? So, the math is simple - if we publish EUR, AUS and US version close to Japanese release, noone will order a Japanese version in enourmous amounts, with nice side-feature of making GT4 the best selling game of all times in first day of relese.

Do not forget that Microsoft today released a pretty nice info about pre-order quantities of Halo 2, stating that Halo 2 has reach a all-time-record with 1,5 million pre-orders. So, we have to make this simple: we release a Japanese first, then we make a gap of about 3 months, aned everybody around the globe will order a Japanese version. And kick the Mcrsft's butt.

And yes, all those people will also buy their (AUS, EUR or US) version when it comes out, so count them double.

Be serious - if the game is coming for other territories in February, will you order your Japanese copy? Say "no", come on, let me see you. Of course everybody will order it. I will order it. I know 4 people who will order it.

Money, money, money, must be funny, in the Sony's world....

As far as I remember the PAL (Europe) release of GT3 was July also, around the 21st.

GT4 is in danger of becoming the 'Apocalypse Now' of the gaming world...
I hope Yamauchi-San does'nt have a heart attack like Martin Sheen!! :scared:

Seriously, if GT4 comes out in Europe before Christmas I will be genuinely amazed. To be honest I am expecting a late January release. But I hope I am wrong....

they already have San Andreas to win the sales pissing match. GT4 is just the nails in the coffin.

I, for one, couldn't care less about sales figures (as if they're something to brag about), I just want a great game in my hands ASAP. I don't feel empathy for Sony delaying something to squeeze more green out of consumers pockets, if that's what your reasoning is.

(Thinks: 'Amar212 was being ironic'?)

Still, I agree, Sony get no sympathy from me either...
