They got a few back but not enough. You should see all the Dodgers fans in the stands. Feel like I'm in LA. Or the entire population of California is taking over AZ. :lol:
 
I hate to say it, but I'm glad for the Dodger fans in Arizona. I've always wished we had NL team in Portland, so us Braves fans, Cardinals, Dodger fans, etc., etc. could go see all the NL teams we like when they are visiting. We can do this for the AL team in Seattle.

Before Expos/Nationals, some Portland baseball fans thought we might get lucky, but the support was nowhere near enough, and we now have a soccer team instead. Soccer. :crazy:

* Cincinnati has the longest winning streak at present with five wins. The Chicago Cubs have the longest losing streak at nine games.

* At 16-9, Texas has the best road game record. The San Diego Padres have the worst road record at 4-13.


Have to wonder if the leaders in division can keep up their lead. Either that, or if any of the trailing teams will be able to knock them off the top of each team's respective division.

There's reason to believe the Phils and Red Sox are also interested in Oswalt. So we shall see what we shall see, I suppose.

With regard to the highest paid teams in or near last place: just goes to show that money can't buy happiness.
 
John, I know you hate the Mets :dopey:, but we aren't THAT bad with a 2-20 record. We are 24-20.

That's been happening for a while now, hasn't it? People from California moving to AZ for the cheaper housing prices and taxes.

It was inevitable for Ted Lilly to get rocked. His ERA was like 1.something and you just know that's not going to last. A minor league lineup isn't going to bail you out forever. There were so many wonky things happening in yesterday's lineup that I just had to laugh. 5 game win streak is over, and now a day off (two for Ethier - he sat out yesterday) and it's back to Los Angeles for a 3-gamer against the 'Stros.

Kershaw will be on the mound Friday. He is the reigning NL Player Of The Week and currently has an active 22-inning scoreless streak. Saturday and Sunday will likely be Billingsley and Capuano.

I assumed just that. They're all moving here because it's cheaper, still warm, and still fairly close to the ocean for a weekend trip. The chants during the game back and forth "Let's go DBacks!" "Let's go Dodgers!" are kind of funny. Every time they would pan the camera out to see the crowd, it's like a sea of blue.

I heard that was the possible asking price for the Yanks as I heard of the Yankees going for sale. A sports fan would kill to buy one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports- let alone the most iconic in the United States, let alone the most iconic in baseball... one of the finest in any professional sport. Hell, even a Boston Red Sox fan or a New York Mets would want to buy the Yanks if he/she could! Imagine a fan of a rival team own a rival team.

:dopey: me. At first glance, I read the first line as thrity-eight, not 3 billion. Wow, I dont like the Yanks, but I would have valued them higher than thirty-eight dollars.
The rumour seems to have been shot down pretty quick by the Steinbrenners though...
 
Dan Haren just destroyed the Mariners. He had 14 Ks and ZERO walks. Complete game shutout too. :D

Yes it was a rumour,via a "source". But damn if your company,team,business etc. was valued at 3bil. wouldnt you at least explore selling the team. Clearly the steinbrenners dont need the money,their other business is a cash cow (or maybe cash horse heh). Friggin Lonn Trost (COO of yanks) wants selig and mlb to investigate whomever the "source" was ha,trost needs to calm down and start telling teixeira to start hitting.

It was 3-1 in Los Angeles as my Astros won tonight over the Dodgers. Only blemish to us was that Dodger run we walked in. Lucas Harrell won for Houston but did not record a single strike. We snapped a four-game losing streak at the Dodgers. A big part of this series relates to the Dodgers playing without Matt Kemp. The Dodger crew still has some solid players besides Kemp. Tomorrow night's mound matchup: Bud Norris (HOU) vs. Billingsley (LAD).

Even though I saw the Diamondbacks got lacerated at home by the Brewers, here's something for D-Backs fans to digest- at least you're not the Cubs, who lost their 10th straight game. I read it was the first time since 1997 that the Cubbies had this long a losing streak. The Cubs lost 1-0 at the Pirates (if I'm not mistaken).


Congratulations to all winners from today and tonight.

Albert hit a solo shot then Alberto Callospo hit a grand slam! We won our 5th game in a row. :D
 
Got to see Seattle lose on Fox today. Seattle "Rainiers" throwback uniforms were crazy. Way out of place, but probably looked ten times better than the ugly Mariners uniforms!

JJ Putz sealed up the win nicely, but not after a couple hard hit balls way into the outfield. Gerrardo Para is one of the best outfielders in the game. Period.

Let's finish it off with a series win tomorrow!
 
Working nights has it's advantages I guess, mainly I can't watch the Twins lose pretty much every game.:lol:

Hopefully they can get some decent prospects in the draft.
 
MOTHERF:censored:!!! Stupid ass pitch by us led to the Dodgers taking my Astros deep for a 3-run walk-off homer. I'm pissed. Dodgers win 6-3 and outhit us 12-7. The non-televised (at least for FOX Sports Houston) Rubber Game is tomorrow afternoon, but I'll probably be watching racing mostly, so how we'll head into Denver on Monday for our day/night Doubleheader depends on how (or if) we can hold off the Dodgers.

Again... 🤬!!!
