What do you people have your asm and tcs set at and do you use manual or automatic trans?
for me my asm and tcs are both at 2 and im going to start using manual i think... and whats your favorite car(by looks)? i like the mazda rx-8.

asm off
tcs 1-3 depending on the car

usually use auto, because i like to concentrate on my racing lines more. i may switch to manual. it seems like a pain with those high HP cars with sporty trannys. too much shifting up and shifting down...let the comp do that.

Always Manny cause thats what my car is so it's a habit.

TCS: Every single car always on 0
ASM: Every single car always on 0
TRANSMISSION: Every single car is always Manual
FAVOURITE CAR BY LOOKS: Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R or Nissan Skyline GT-R S-Tune (R32)

I don't recall the exact settings I have, but I did turn both TCS and ASM down. It varies vehicle to vehicle though. The one thing I can't possible understand is why you would want automatic? Are you really "driving" if youre not rowing the gearbox? GT3 doesn't seem to penalize (in terms of power) for choosing the automatic. The manual, for me anyways, just makes the experience more rewarding. Shifting the gears for the Gt40 is a joy itself.

ASM and TCS always off....always Manuel...and the RX-8 is my fave cause of looks and really the sound.

Asm and tcs are always off and Im manual.
Love the manual and was mentioned earlier, I love rowing the GT40. The gearing is great and such sound, music to my ears, you just dont get that with the auto tranny.

ASM & TCS always stay at whatever the standard setting is unless I want to play around with the car or something.

Always manual - real men use stick shifts. ;)

Oh, and best-looking car? Either the Pug 206 or the Supra. Though I've grown rather fond of the rental-car styling of the Storia X4. :D

ASC and TCS off... that should be default like that ... Also Manual trans all the way... don't understand how could you find joy in racing an automatic car but oh well... it gives you more control too btw... as for looks... My black Tommy Kaira ZZII is really nice , also the aston vanquish and RUF RGT look killer...

I run with Manual, and ASM at a low setting: between 1 and 5
TCS: 1-2

Tried boosting it in tail happy cars, and felt like I was strangling the ability to put the power on the road.

Real men use stick shifts in real life. I would use stick in realy life (if i was old enuff to drive) but not in this game. Its not any quicker, and its got no realy point, unless you feel like starting out in 3rd gear or something.

who's is they and why do THEY say real men should use manuals?

Uhhh - it's a lot quicker, especially mid-corner and under braking.

I hate automatic cars. (in real life too)
They change the gears when they want, so Manual is my preference.

I'm sorry i must be really missing something. But when u say quicker do u mean as in accleration? Because i just tried quater miles in the same car auto and man. and times where pretty much the same. And when braking how is it quicker?

It's quicker because you have more control over what you gear you as you slow down, and you can select the gear at the end of braking for corner - it's difficult to isolate the braking/cornering aspect, but you don't have to second guess the auto when slowing and turning...

Thats right man, I don't want some software engineer in Detroit (or where ever) thats never seen the sunlight to tell my car when to shift. Thats MY JOB. I paid for the damn thing after all, I'll go an extra 500 rpm if I want to. Also, in terms of GT3, the manual makes controlling your car much easier in turns and during braking. You don't need that TCS and stuff in the first place if you can just show some skill with the gearbox. ;) Phew, I feel my superiority complex calming down now.... I'll be ok. 😈

I haven't bothered to change anything yet, so I run all my cars with ASM and TCS set to their defaults, and use automatic gears.

yep, automatic transmission is for me... :D i can drive with it now pretty good... and don't yet want to leart manual.. that would just mess up my stylee.... but maybe someday i start learning manual... when i want faster times....

ASM off, TCS to match specific cars. Manual trans. With manual, I believe that it's actually easier to drive. The car's stability seems to improve greatly through the turns. It's much easier to get a very fast exit speed from the turns also. It's just all around better. Once you get used to it ,you'll never go back.

All aids OFF, otherwise its not really fun.
Auto transmission in races and with most cars. i dont mind manual with some stock gearboxes but i'm neither slower nor faster so why bother??

ASM and TSC on, obviosuly why would I want my car sliding around all the time and ****, but usually MT when I'm racing friends or whatever, but when I'm doing a major race its AT, because theres no possible way you can mess up, with MT you have to pay attention all the time to what gear you're on and you may miss something on the road
