I have an idea lets make our own Gran Turismo, where we can trade cars and what not. Let's call it a diffrent name though. How about Gran Charisma, I dont know what it has to do with racing. It is a catchy word though. That will show PD. Suck it.

So you admit to attacking me?

No, in the same way you would not admit to attacking me.

Alright, back to the issue on hand. The point is that you are one in 6.3 million. Even if you get 10, or 100, or 1,000, or even 100,000 people to go with your idea, you won't make a difference.
Also, you have to look at this with impact calculus in mind, and obviously the Pros of the patch outweigh the Cons (they have been listed throughout the post, and I do not feel the need to re-list them all again).

Understood.
At any point in this thread did I say there would be a big turn out for this "boycott"? Maybe, eventually, the numbers will grow to more than 500,000. I know it will take time. You can't knock a guy for trying.

btw, i'm still waiting for replys to my questions on page 5.

What if I have more than 1 friend who wants to gift me a car? Whats so wrong about helping your friends and keeping a car for yourself? Why isnt there more cash given for winning races? Why is "grinding" the norm? How come I wasnt told to stock up on rubberbands to "play" this game?
If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. I have seen a lot of negative comments in this thread, and i expected that. But, if you dont have a solution to the 1.07 patch then why post here? Why try to shoot down an idea that has been nothing less than constructive?

If you dont like my idea, who said you had to follow it?

heres my questions.

If people see GT5 as a dupe-software they just wasted $60-100 on some CTRL+C command that you didn't have to wait 5 years for.

For all of those who are against the new 1.07 patch...I suggest that we do not play GT5 starting on march 3rd for 1 week, until march 10th. Simple? and if we need to, continue not playing until the patch is cancelled.

Have fun with Mario Cart.

Ill play extra just for OP's sake.

Almost as good as eating a bucket of KFC infront of people on a hunger strike.

Its a good idea but to be honest even if every member of GTP didnt play for a week, I doubt it would even make a dent in the number of people playing online.

Haha forget no play week! I'm not going to stop playing a game I like because a couple people are having a hissy fit because they can't get an X2010 on trade that they can't earn themselves.

Never thought about that. Mabye killing trading will help online play. I just think if they kill trading, then they need to kill grinding too.

hey vinny.

How about you add me and we race. If I win, you have to go a week starting March 3rd without GT5 and if you win, I'll continue to play during the NO PLAY WEEK??

I'll even let you pick the track. But, somewhat close matched cars.

You game?

1) You said you didn't fail at attacking me (which you did). The point is then that you admit that you did attack me.
2) This has now become a direct challenge, and therefore a form of attack.
3) This is off topic.
4) I'm sorry, but I really don't care. Hadn't you realized that I stopped posting? In any case, I would race you, and, no matter the outcome, still play. I refuse to entertain your immaturity.

@Krazy

Maybe you should edit the orignial post. People seem to think that it's about affecting the server statistics or robbing PD of money in a short perspective.

You should add that it works by people openly complaining and the issue getting attention. Then you should post a petition or point to an existing one, get as many names as possible and then publish the list.

If you get people to understand that if they join it you it will come to PDs attention through maybe an article on GTP news then it will have an effect. Because GTP is possibly the biggest voice of the GT community.

Even though GTP is only a small part of the game owners, it's still a large part of the vocal community. PD realises that GTP doesn't just speak for themselves but also for the silent users so if half of GTP says it then it's likely to be the opinion of many of the users.

Finally you might want to add that the community has, evidently influenced PD already by temporarily lifting the ban on trading expensive cars.

You're the one who bought the game. It doesn't matter if you stop playing it. If you feel like protesting, go get a refund. I admit this game has a lot of problems and to be honest I'm probably just going to sell it to someone else for cheaps.

how is this thread not locked?

all of the people who dislike the latest patch - have you contacted PD directly with your feelings? that is probably more productive than not playing for a week.

if you really hate the game now that it's been patched to 1.07 just stop playing until they come out with 1.08.

I was duped into buying this game. It wont happen again.
I dont even trade that often. Its only to friends I know from work who bought the game after me and im trying to help them out. Come to think of it, ive never done a trade. Ive just given cars to friends I know. I love to race, but I cant see myself going around a track over and over and over just to to get a million bucks so I can buy a "mid" level car; or strap a rubber band on my controller. It would take me almost a month of only playing this game to save up 20 million!! I have other games I like to play not to mention a job and family. So, shall I quit my life and do nothing but play this game just to get a few cars I really want?

If you are a real die hard racing fan and you have no life and no other games to play, then this game is for you.
If you are the average joe with a life, then this game just duped you.

See arcade mode.

Ok
a challenge to a driving simulator game on a web page about the same game is an "attack"?
maybe you are not the die hard racing fan I thought you were.
and if you didn't want to entertain my immaturity, then, why are you still posting?
at least I would have honored the challenge if I had lost. kids these days, I tell ya.
at least I tried to make light of the argument that was going nowhere.

good idea.
but like I said before, I have other things to do. This is the most time Ive ever spent on a thread before. My life is kinda hectic, but still good idea. the no play is the best I could come up with with my time, but I agree a petition, would be better.
Maybe if I find time in the future. Thanks.

1) Seeing the reputation you have recently accrued, this could be considered a form of attack.
2) Racing you does not in any way prove whether or not I am a "die hard racing fan."
3) If someone made a stupid remark and challenged you, wouldn't you feel obligated to respond even if he/she is acting rashly and immaturely? By posting I am not entertaining your immaturity, but rather devaluing you and that which you stand for. By accepting your challenge, then I would be entertaining your immaturity.
4) I would accept and honor a challenge had I been challenged by a person whose sole aim was that of enjoyment. You see, I tend to play games for fun, and not to show up other people. You, my friend, have failed with words and now seek to one-up me in the form of a game. If that's not immature, then I don't know what is. Considering that I'm a 14 year old, that makes you look even worse in comparison.
5) Make light of this argument? Hardly. You have sought to derail it from any semblance of reason and logic, you have used profanity against me, and you have wrongly accused me. Not only do these actions disprove your attempts to defuse the situation, but they also reaffirm your own immaturity.

As you can see, I have taken the more mature route. Nothing I have said has been offensive, but rather defensive against the attack you pose upon me. You claim that you haven't attacked me, but at the same time you say that your attack hasn't failed. These two statements are contradictory, and it is clear that you are harassing me and attacking me. When I reported your clear violation of the Acceptable Use Policy of GTPlanet, you attempted to do the same to me and told me I should expect a call from the mods. Obviously, since I have not been punished, I have done nothing wrong. You, on the other hand, have received a warning and thus have clearly done something wrong in the eyes of the impartial third party moderators.

I kindly request that you act your age. If a fourteen year old kid with no inclination to do so can be mature, then it would only make sense if you did so too.

I don't think I'm capable of not playing this game for a week! I've got too much to do in it!

What's so bad about the 1.07 patch? They have obviously updated gt5 for a reason so stop complaining about it and get in with it man.

Cool story bro. You go ahead and do that. And good job on picking on a 14-year-old kid.
FYI you answered your own question

No you should quit playing the game altogether.. there, your solution.
If you don't like something just move on, like you said you have a job and family? Maybe stop whining about something that's so trivial like a video game and move on with your life which is more important? Obviously you have a sense of priority... So my question is why did you start this thread? Another troll thread :ouch:

Mhm... good luck with that:rolleyes:

All you guys can do is shoot this guy down for expressing his opinion... None of you even had to post on this thread if you guys didn't like it,and instead you go on this tirade. I admit, everyone's pissed off at this update, but taking it out on someone isn't really fair is it?👎

Out of the 6.3 million ish copies on the market, I think you find most don`t players don't care and are happy with the regular updates even the 1.07 going by what I have read on facebook and twitter, even on here its only the minority.
