.......then wear it. :)

Women and those VW Beatles.I don't get it. :)

clearly men understand a little more about horsepower than women according to thata data.

mens choices are all high performance cars.

I don't either. I guess when a girl drives a Beetle they think they are hawt or something.

According to the data, I think guys have better taste in cars, that's all. I mean, a Kia Rio? :yuck:

I agree, who would actually want a kia or pontiac sunfire?? those are basic forms of transportation (no offence to any owners of these cars) but I dont see them of cars you would want...more like cars you have to settle with because of money constraints....

Bad examples! There are some good econo cars: Scions(OK, arguable), Focus, Mazda 3, Civics or Golfs? I'd love to own any of those. 👍

P.S. The VW Beetle thing. Over 90% of the Beetle drivers around here are 40-80 year old ladies. Girls drive Jettas and Hondas.

Only 60-65% of Beetle registrants are women, folks.

Wha.... Dude.. Chicks dig jeep Wranglers. I'll Rephrase that. Chicks dig Jeeps. Most of the girls at my school have Either A. a honda Civic B. A Jeep C. A Beetle

Almost every jeep I've seen on the road here in KS had a Female Driver.

Not when I'm on the road. :D I swear to you. It's literally like 90% old ladies. I hate the car, I never see hotties drive those around here. Beetle = grandma :yuck:

That's true. I knew I forgot another car girls like to drive. :ouch: I do see a lot of girls drive the Wranglers, but not as much as the Cherokees, then Grand Cherokees.

what about the vw cabrios and women?
Those are cool cars IMO. Surprisingly, there aren't that many in Portland area..... come to think of it, it's raining here most of the time. 👎 Out of the few Cabrios that I've seen, most were driven by guys. What the heck are they thinking!

What I don't get is why they named cars like the Kias, and so on. What non- "car person" even knows that the hell a Kia Rio is? Seems rediculous to be naming barebones economy cars.

I never would have imagined that the G6 was a chick car. Also, the Beetle & Eclipse didn't used to be chick cars back in the day.

Quoi? huh? no... The Eclipse and Beetle have always been chick cars. Every Beetle I've seen Ecxept for three had a Female Driver, And every Eclipse without a fart cannon I've seen Also had a Woman Behind the wheel.

I agree--the new beetle has been a chick car since it's inception. In fact, I believe that it's market demographic is identical to that of potential GAP employees--the only qualification is that they must be attracted to men.

That stat is off due to the number of Dad's buying their little girls their first beetle.

It's because that's what you look for. You make a mental note when you see a woman driving a Beetle, you disregard all else. The other day I told a friend (and GTP member) from California that all the California plates I see spell a word by random chance. Now that I've actually started noticing all California plates, I'd say only as many as are normal spell a word - it's just that I noticed the ones that spell a word, or maybe I saw a few in a clump by chance.

60-65% registrants usually translates into 70-75% drivers, for the record. All four cars in our household are registered to me, but I haven't driven my wife's car in ages.

Not true. I do emember seeing guys and younger ladies driving these cars, and how few of them I see. I'm not trying to say this is the official count in Portland Metro area, it's just what I see. ;) It's really interesting. They are all old, ugly or fat. :scared:

hell, I've never SEEN beetle drivers. don't see too many beetles around here. don't even see to many women drivers around here. and the ones i DO see are driving around their husband's/Boyfreinds SUV...and leaving the guys with the beat up peice of crap they didn't trade in :P

I think you better stop bashing Hundai/Kia now. they built a plant in the US.

I'll keep count - male vs female - on Beetles in the next few weeks. I won't keep count of ugly/fat/old because I have higher standard than most and nearly every Beetle driver would be thrown in the first two categories, most likely.

 Sounds good. I'll keep my official count as well, starting tomorrow. :D

I haven't seen a new beetle in months, are they that common in your respective locations?

Usually. I tried to pay an special attention for one of those today, no luck! :guilty:

I see at least six daily. Convertibles are everywhere.

I finally saw ONE! today. A lady(40 or so, ugly&fat).

Today I saw seven: 5 women, 2 men:
- yellow hatch/man
- silver hatch/man
- brown conv/woman ~35
- blue hatch/woman
- silver conv/woman
- ? hatch/woman ~65
- ? hatch/woman

Three more: 1 woman, 2 men:
- silver conv/man ~30s
- silver hatch/man ~20s
- ? hatch/woman ~20s

I don't see many Beetles around here either. We had one at school, i've seen a couple at Best Buy (geek squad), and my Aunt used to have one.

You people are nuts. I considered offering to take a picture of every one I saw to put you guys to shame but I realized I probably don't have enough space on my camera. The things are everywhere.

I mean, I've reported to having seen ten - I've seen at least ten parked, in addition. They're like actual beetles, and I wish I could squish the car, too.
