Tried to set my spawn, says I don't have access to that command...

Also, I now can't move. I'm trying to build some stairs and whenever I place a Cobblestone block on the 'back' of a set of steps, my character appears sitting down and is stuck down to the steps with an arrow. What the f?

As magga said, sethome not spawn. As for the step thing it's the chair mod that let's you sit down but broke as of 1.6 so I night remove it.

Moglet and I were discussing the possibility of revamping the spawn to be a little more inviting and more useful. I was kind of thinking we needed a big community project, but we realized that there were lots of projects, just no information about them anywhere.

I was wondering if we could have some moderator help designing and constructing a better spawn location, perhaps with a big bulletin and news area to list all ongoing community projects and such, Just to keep things organized.

Any mods want to help? Any other volunteers to help with construction? And of course any input from DQuan himself would be helpful.

That's fine, great idea. The only problem is that the sPawn area is protected so only a mod can do it.

Actually, you could always build a new spawn area (try to keep it near the centre of Rapture) and once it's done I can set the spawn there.

EDIT: It said 'connection refused' or something like that.

Just curious, but when spawn is set to a new location, what exactly becomes protected? Is it like a certain square of area around the spawn or will you set it yourself? I don't want to accidentally put doors or something in a protected area so that no one can get out.

Edit: And I can't connect either.
 
OK, something is really wrong. Dylansan and me joined the server, and we spawned randomly, with random inventories. I had ten diamond as well, when I last left the server! oh well...But anyway, is this happening to anyone else? And DQuan, please try and fix this.
 
Except for the fact it did not save any recent work on the server. That means I lost my minecart rides...
 
How recent? I'm now listed as a guest now, so I fear I may have lost everything, including my home, etc. And I know others would have lost a lot of time as well.

Edit: Yep. House gone. Let's hope this gets sorted somehow. I'm sick of just wandering looking at what's changed. I want to start doing something, whether that means getting back where I left off or starting over completely.

When I restarted the server I accidentally started a backup from a few days ago. Should be back to normal now.

So, who built that cannon on top of the hill over Point Zero Lake? The obsidian one? Because that cannon is not long for this world, I'm going to build a house there.
 
So does anyone own this little shanty on the hill near spawn? There's nothing in it, and it seems like a great place for the new spawn.

Also, I have a feeling once spawn is moved away from the station, the station's powered tracks might actually work.
 
Can someone please quickly explain how to install texture packs, I install them and they appear in the list in game but when I select them they are greyed out and also don't appear when I join the server :(

Yet they don't for me. It's really annoying, I have to push the carts then hope to get in them before lag sends them away at 15 trillion miles a second.
 
Ok this is how the texture pack screen appears for me, I downloaded a few others just to see if it was only painterly that was giving me issues.

it´s a bit picky , i need to put the minecart all the way at the start of the track or else it won´t work
 
It sounds like you have to move it to the right folder without unzipping it first. If you can figure out how to do that, it should work.
