Who put that tower of dirt on the railroad tracks?

Also, nobody owns that little shack, it's just what I built the first night I logged on when the server started.

I've figured it out, I was rezipping the folder but not the files inside it.

Simple fix, enter the folder and rezip all files inside it, then copy zipped file to the textures folder and now it works :)

Please do excuse the what some might say is Spam, but as I have said in-chat on the server to many players:

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGG

Seriously dude, it's getting a bit much. Is there something you can look into. It takes me about 3 mins to open my vault, and a further 3 mins to open a chest.
It's starting to turn me off visiting anymore, which is something nor you or I would like. And it only seems to appear when other players are on. 10 mins ago I was playing with 3 others online...not fun as far as lag goes at all...but now they have all logged off, it's smoothed out completely.

P.S. I like the size of the arena. Gives in-experienced fighters a chance. ;)

Guys I'm not new to minecraft survival but I'm new to multiplayer. I'm not tempted with joining a random due to the fact I feel safer with the GTP community. What would be the best way to get started?

Just pop on. We'll welcome you with open arms, just don't take other people's stuff or damage their property. Or build on their hill.

Ok is it vanilla or is there mods enabled? Also is offline mode? I'm don't want buy minecraft until it's available on Steam.

I hear rumors about their interest in minecraft it may be a possibility. That's what I hope for. If not will pc server work with the 360 game?

I am planing on moving the server to a new machine with a better Internet connection in the near future which should make it a lot better. It won't be perfect as it will still be on a home connection not a hosted server but in tests it ran ok with 8 people on.

I have actually looked into hosted servers but I don't really want to pay £100 and there is no monthly payment plan. Perhaps we could do it if a few people chip in?

^^ I'll donate anything up to $25 or $30 AUD (what's that...15 or 20 pounds?...that's just off the top of my head :p).

As long as it can go into some sort of direct account where I punch in my credit card details and that's it. I'm 🤬 off with PayPal as it is. Long story, don't ask.:irked:

Anywhoo, anything to make this great community and server faster (less laggy ) and mo' efficient, I'm all for. 👍

EDIT:

Who put that tower of dirt on the railroad tracks?...
Me! I got boosted by the 'Red Block of Death' and landed on the compass. Half my stuff ended up there and I had to get it, so I dug a thing up, got my stuff and fell off again. I've tried 4 times since then to dig up to the top, then dig right down again to get rid of it, but Lag (once I get up top, the rendering makes my application lag, even on close render distance...that and server lag) makes me fall off again.:grumpy:

From a technical POV, they're not ON the railway tracks, but to one side...plenty of room for a minecart to pass ;)

Dylansan and I have been making some improvements in Rapture. Cobble pathways, some trees, and some alterations on the railway line. We have plans for Street lights, essential fences made to look like a pole, with a Lightstone block on the end. Hope you guys like it, if you don't, then live with it :p

EDIT: OOPS, double post, didn't realize that no one else had posted yet, sorry!

You aren't the only one. I use/d paypal because I am not old enough for a credit card and I got sick of pestering mum for hers. I used my bank account through it which was all well and good (im fine with the money transfer delays) until I logged in from another freaking computer which got my account suspended. It then asked me to change password and questions as well as confirm my credit card. Lolwut? What credit card. Yeah, nicely done Paypal .

Apparently I can setup some debit type thing when I turn 16 next month so I shall do that and legitimately buy Minecraft, something I have been planning to do for quite a while :D.

^^LOL. With me, it's that they want to send 2 amounts of less that $1 USD into my account, then I have to tell them how much they put in, and then it's activated. The only thing is THEY WON'T 🤬 WELL PUT THE MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT!!

Anyway:

Which of these lamp posts do the people like. The one on the left, or the one on the right. WallRunner likes the left, while I like the right. It's a hung Parliament. So whichever get's the most votes we'll do throughout Rapture.

I like the one on the right as well. The left one is a bit...antique for my tastes.

Edit: And default cobble is pretty ugly. Anyone have suggestions for road materials?

We COULD go to the trouble of using Smooth Stone, and Wall is sick of spawning stuff, so we'd have to smelt it and mine coal and stuff, the old fashioned way. I like the cobble, purely becuase I'm using a double realution texture pack...Faithful I beleive it's called, the same textures only double the quality...so cobble looks pretty good!

UPDATE: Mob trap is almost complete, I've just got to dig out a little more and remove the torches...It'll be a WIP even though it will be publicly working. You should eventually have an endless supply of feathers, arrows, gunpowder, and bones, so enjoy it guys and don't greif with the gunpowder. If I see one block out of place that I didn't put there on that thing, I'll get onto it ;). You have been warned.

I just took out the only cannon in existence too, so no luck there.
I finished (more or less) the design of my new house, which I think I shall name the Point Zero Mansion. Due to lack of better things. Here's the schematic, if anyone were interested. Not likely.

If you want to actually look at it, view it in Paint or something.

RE: lamp post, I prefer the one on the right

RE: road materials, how about gravel, bricks, or wool? perhaps wood planks? spawned gold ore?

Same here I prefer the lamp post to the right. I also don't think we should user wool or wood, what if we have a flint and tinder maniac on the server?

We already had gravel..it squished under our feet and annoyed me and several others I presume. Bricks, hmmm, maybe...Wool or wood...I had thought of wood but like Nick said it's a greifers dream. Most the places have a connection of at most 2 blocks with the laneways, and that's set...let's see, My new shop, the noticeboard, the trap with the trap doors near the old old spawn, and the pub...oh my gosh...the pub, if that went up, we'll all die.

Gold ore would be AWESOME, even more so, IRON BLOCKS....or the ores, but I reckon solid blocks would be better ;) How 'bout DIAMOND BLOCKS

OH I KNOW I KNOW. PATCHWORK QUILT!!!! Make all the roads 4 blocks wide, then have this as the design

Wouldn't that be a greifers dream too? A road made up of Gold, Diamond and Iron is a pretty good source of free materials for someone who doesn't give a damn.

^So's an Obsidian filled arena, but nobody's taken a chance with that beast yet eh? :p

P.S. For smartypants: Yes I know the arena is protected....

Adminium. Just make sure there's no lag.

And just so you know, the obsidian is mine. It is going to be my new floor.

^^ So when somone wants to move their shop, or improve the trainstation, everyone has to chip in 5 hours of their life to dig out a 10 x 10 section  Fun.

EDIT: Oh, you mean BEDROCK! :O Umm, yeah then everyone would die of hand blisters trying to move it...'cause it's un-moveable..

Obsidian is usually banned on most servers, since attempts to use it as a decorative item create something that takes several years to dismantle.

Black wool is much better.

double stone slabs?
note blocks and pressure pads?
Lapis lazuli blocks?
Glass over lava?
snow blocks (like in the castle) (wall's castle?)
Mossy stone?
Glowstone?
trapdoors?

just trying to get a little inventive...
