According to looking around on Yahoo! Sports' MLB content, the Cincinnati Reds are 5-7. Up next, you guys have a four-game set at the free-falling Milwaukee Brewers starting tomorrow. You think the Reds are in trouble? Look at the mess Milwaukee's in so far- a 2-10 record. So unless the Brewers somehow get energized at home, you Reds have a chance to tack on a few more wins to your record.
They probably will. A series against the reeling Reds is just what they need.

The A's and the Royals got heated again today. In the first, starting pitcher Scott Kazmir plunked Royals Outfielder Lorenzo Cain in the foot. Both benches were warned, but Royals manager Ned Yost and pitching coach Dave Eiland were eventually tossed for disobeying the umpire's order to stay in the dugout.

Fast forward to the 8th. Royals flamethrower Kelvin Herrera threw a pitch behind Lawrie. Herrera, who was immediately ejected, escalated things even more when he pointed at his head while jawing at Lawrie as he walked off the field.

Royals acting manager and bench coach Don Wakamatsu and shortstop Alcides Escobar were also thrown out during the second incident.

The game ended up a 4-2 win for KC, but the worse thing is: the two meet again in late June in Oakland.

Let me tell you something. This series got heated this weekend; it's going to probably get worse once these two teams meet again. This time, in Oakland. I even said on Twitter that if OAK/KC is the ALCS matchup, it's going to be crazy determining which is the better team. This is one crazy series!

The Tigers and Yankees had a defensive struggle tonight. The game featured may clutch outs including a trick out from a ball retrieved by Tigers SS Jose Iglesias. The final score 2-1 in favor of Detroit. CC Sabathia got both a Complete Game and the loss.

The biggest news of the night is that a fan was struck in the head at the Cubs/Pirates game. A foul ball from Cubs SS Starlin Castro was tipped straight back and went straight through the netting behind home plate at PNC Park, and the fan got drilled. Let's hope that the fan can recover because a head injury is something that is never a good sign. This also could potentially take place at any ballpark.

It was 7-5 in Seattle as the Houston Astros beat the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners had a series against the Texas Rangers over the weekend, so they now get the other Texas Major League Baseball team. This win for the Astros puts them at 7-6 so far on the season. The loss for the Mariners put them in a current three-way tie for third place in the AL West along with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Texas Rangers. Carlos Valbuena banged in two home runs to help Houston's cause. It was a win for Tony Sipp and a Save for Luke Gregerson on the Astros' side. For the losing Seattle Mariners, Danny Farquhar was the losing pitcher.

I am not going to actively follow these late games (unless it's one held earlier in the day), so I won't report on these games quickly. Regardless, congratulations to all other winners from Monday; and my thoughts go out to the fan who got struck in the head from that foul ball from the CHC at PIT game.

It is early in the season, but here is a quick look at how everyone is doing so far this season...

--- AMERICAN LEAGUE ---
AL EAST: Boston (8-5), BAL (7-6), NYY/TOR/TB (6-7 each)
AL CENTRAL: Detroit (11-2), KC (10-3), CHW (5-7), MIN (5-8), CLE (4-8)
AL WEST: Houston (7-6), OAK (7-7), SEA/LAA/TEX (5-8 each)

--- NATIONAL LEAGUE ---
NL EAST: New York Mets (10-3), ATL (8-4), WSH (6-7), PHI (4-9), MIA (3-10)
NL CENTRAL: St. Louis (8-3), CHC (7-5), PIT and CIN (6-7 each), MIL (2-11)
NL WEST: Los Angeles Dodgers (9-3), SD (9-5), COL and ARI (7-6 each), SF (4-10)

Anything surprise you so far? Enjoy tonight's games. Good luck to all of your teams.

Right now on MLB Network, the Washington Nationals are hosting the St. Louis Cardinals. The real story is that this new StatCast feature is being used in the broadcast. This StatCast offers a ridiculous set of statistics and figures on players. For example, it could determine the certain speed of a base runner as the runner heads towards a base, it could detect the velocity of a pitcher's pitch to the plate. In other words, it almost puts ESPN's Sport Science (which I am a fan of) to shame. Very interesting...

New York Mets take another one, winning 7-1 over Atlanta to win their 9th in a row, their 8th at home, and move to 11-3 on the year.

Just wrapped up...

We won 6-3 in Seattle! And can you believe it... we have won four straight games! No typo- you read right. I hope my boys can ride this wave as long as they can. Collin McHugh was the winning HOU pitcher along with a Save from Chad Qualls. Charlie Furbush was the losing SEA pitcher. The finale to this series is Wednesday night before we take a day off to prepare for the three-game weekend set at the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday, including Blitz24's Mets still knocking down and knocking out teams. By the way... are you concerned that injury trouble could catch up with the Mets despite the fact your team is winning these games so far this season?

New York Mets make it 10 in a row with a comeback 3-2 win over Atlanta. Wilmer Flores hit a HR in the 7th and Lucas Duda drove in the winning run in the 8th. Their record is now 12-3.

Not sure. They are persevering very well.

Seattle won to avoid getting swept by us. So it is four and no more for the Astros' win streak. We failed 3-2 in this series finale. Former Astro J.A. Happ got the win, and Fernando Rodney got the Save for SEA. Roberto Hernandez took the loss for HOU. Thursday is a day off, but after Thursday, we're at the Oakland Athletics for a three-game weekend series.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday.

[UPDATE] At OAK next, not at LAA.

New York Mets complete the sweep of Atlanta, the last team to defeat them before this winning streak began, winning 6-3 this afternoon. Jeurys Familia earns his 8th save in 11 games, the Mets earn their 11th win in a row, and they finish off the perfect homestand at 10-0 while moving to 13-3 on the year.

Mets looking good, I will say that. But up next... your Mets are going to have some Yankees problems over the weekend. All I can say is... keep up the great work!

Man, after watching a bit of the games of the Reds series that just wrapped up, I think I can say that Milwaukee is truly awful. The Reds had a chance to sweep the Brew Crew today, but surprise, surprise! Is it a close game? How about a tie game? In either case, it's time to bring in Kevin Gregg! Another day, another game changing run allowed. Amazingly he dropped his ERA despite giving up the run in 1 1/3 innings. I have no idea how he's still up with the big league club. I don't even know if he belongs in AAA Louisville at this point.

Anyway, the Reds lost 4-2. I heard on the radio that in the 1st 7 innings in the second game of the series, the Reds put up 16 runs, then only 4 for the last 2 innings of that game and the next two games combined. Sure would be nice if we could hit with consistency. One problem still persists; I didn't think it was possible, but we've managed to get even less production out of left field than in previous years with Ryan Ludwick and Chris Heisey (and before that Jonny Gomes and Laynce Nix). Yes, Marlon Byrd is batting an eye popping .127! That position has pretty much been a black hole since Dunn left. Ugh.

Man, the Yankees have owned the Tigers in this series. At least Detroit lost 2-1 today, and the fact that they didn't lose in a blowout loss like they did yesterday is a plus.

If by problems you mean we will likely not be 16-3 after the weekend you are probably right.

I just saw that incident. There are some saying that Eaton started it, but from what I can tell, it was clearly the other way around. They guy should be thankful that the AL doesn't have the DH. I frankly won't be shocked if such a stunt happens when the play the Tigers since he's caused an incident in every one of his starts. Yost needs to talk to him promptly or else he will either be suspended or on the DL from a fight.

Doesn't he also suffer from an arm condition that would make him susceptible to an injury?

It is the final weekend of April 2015. Enjoy this weekend's series, and best of luck to all of your teams.

I really hope that the cycle of the Tigers getting blown out comes to an end quickly or else it's going to wind up being a very long, rough year.

Whad'ya know? We actually freaking beat the Oakland Athletics! The score was 5-4, but nine innings wasn't enough to settle our differences. Dallas Keuchel pitched nine innings of shutout ball for HOU, allowing only two hits and striking out four A's. This game took 11 innings to settle the score. Nobody scored anything through nine innings. Despite Dallas Keuchel's fine pitching work against the green and gold, he got a No Decision. It was Luke Gregerson who picked up the win for HOU along with a Save from Chad Qualls. Losing for OAK was Eric O'Flaherty. The next two games will be on at 4:05 PM EDT.

Elsewhere...

* The Bronx Bombers. The Kings of Queens. The Subway Series. Blitz24's Mets were thinking 12 games, but it's 11 and no more. That's because the New York Yankees spanked the Mets 6-1 in the Bronx. I'm pretty sure the YES Network crew had no problem saying "See Ya!" with the homers NYY was banging in this game. It was a win for Michael Pineda for NYY and a loss for Jacob deGrom for the Mets.

* Omnis' Miami Marlins held serve at home with a 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals. Mat Latos was the starting pitcher for MIA, but the win went to Bryan Morris, who is now 2-0 on the season. Getting the save for Miami was Steve Cishek. It was Tanner Roark who was the loser for WSH.

* Also winning by a score of 3-2 was the The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim over the visiting Texas Rangers. The LAA win went to Garrett Richards alogn with a Save from Huston Street. Keone Kela was the TEX losing pitcher.

* It wasn't a good Friday in Phoenix as the Pittsburgh Pirates went into Chase Field and took down R1600Turbo's Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1. Gerrit Cole picked up the win for PIT along with a Save from former Astro Mark Melancon. The ARI loser was Josh Collmenter.

* Sad times at Great American Ballpark as the Cincinnati Reds fell to the Chicago Cubs 7-3 in 11 innings. The Cubbies gave the win to Jason Motte, and the loser for Cincy was Burke Badenhop.

* Comerica Park is one of my personal favorite ballparks. Despite such a beautiful ballpark, the home team took an ugly loss. How ugly? Try 13-1. That was the score the Cleveland Indians owned the Detroit Tigers by. Danny Salazar took the win for the Tribe, and on the losing end of this meat grinder of a loss was Shane Greene for DET.

* Canada's team took an American beat down in Tampa Bay. The Rays won 12-3 over the Blue Jays. Tampa Bay won with Jose Dominguez and a Save from Matt Andriese. Knuckleball boss R.A. Dickey took the loss for TOR. He's now 0-2 on the season.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday.

Can you believe that the Houston Astros have played 17 games so far this season... and already have 10 wins? And that they are currently the only AL West team currently with a winning record? Well, they just got win #10 today at Oakland with a 9-3 victory. José Altuve was the biggest contributor with a 3-run jack. Scott Feldman was the winning HOU pitcher while Kendall Graverman took the loss for OAK. So, yeah... the 2015 Houston Astros (at least right now) don't stink. Let's see how long we can keep up the great work...

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday, including the Tigers and the Mets. In case you were following the brawl from Thursday between Kansas City and the Chicago White Sox, here's some news for you: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/7-players-royals-white-sox-punished-mlb-brawl-165050293--mlb.html .

[UPDATE] NYM won today, not NYY. Changes [quickly] made.

The Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 8-6 today.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright was placed on the DL with an Achilles injury. The fear is that the injury might cause him to be done for the season.

Achilles injury will do him in for the year if it's torn.

Scores from today:

Chicago Cubs (10-7) over Cincinnati Reds (8-10) 5-2: Arrieta over DeSclafani.
Tampa Bay (11-8) over Toronto (9-10) 5-1: Archer over Buehrle.
Miami (8-11) over Washington (7-12) 6-2: Haren over Gonzalez.
Philadelphia (7-12) over Atlanta (9-9) 5-4: Williams over Cahill.
Chicago White Sox (7-9) over Kansas City (12-5) 3-2: Robertson over Herrera.
Chicago White Sox (8-9) over Kansas City (12-6) 5-3: Danks over Volquez.
Baltimore (9-10) over Boston (10-9) 18-7: Norris over Miley.
Milwaukee (4-15) over St. Louis (12-5) 6-3: Fiers over Lynn.
Houston (11-7) over Oakland (8-12) 7-6: Sipp over Clippard.
San Diego (11-9) over Los Angeles Dodgers (11-7) 3-1: Morrow over Baker.

I predicted a sweep in this HOU at OAK series, but not the Astros doing the sweeping. So I am tickled pink about the 2015 Houston Astros. And yes... it was a 7-6 victory today for Houston. That is now 11 wins for the Houston Astros Baseball Club so far this season. We'll take all these wins so far and hope to further build upon our successes.

Congratulations to all other Sunday winners including the eventual NYM at NYY winner of this Rubber Game.

Garbage play by the Mets (4 errors) leads to a 6-4 loss to the Yankees. Bombers take 2 of 3 from the Mets.

In a game that didn't even last 2 hours, the Mets take care of business 3-1 over Miami thanks to a 3 run HR by Daniel Murphy (2) in the 9th off of Marlins closer Steve Cishek.

Little inner-forum rivalry game- Blitz24's New York Mets at Omnis' Miami Marlins. I read the NYM at MIA game officially lasted 1:58:00.000. People talk about trying to speed up the game and all that stuff. This one would surely speak to the masses considering the length of time it took for this game to end. All-time, though, two of the quickest full games in history (according to Wikipedia) were two games that lasted (respectively) 51 minutes and 55 minutes.

As of this post, my Houston Astros are still playing at the San Diego Padres. We're currently up 7-4 in the Top of the 8th.

Congratulations to all winners from Monday, including Cincinnati (def. Milwaukee at home), Seattle (def. Texas on the road), and Detroit (def. Minnesota on the road) among others.
