Don't hold your breath on me coming over just yet. I've been very busy in the real world and kind of swore to never buy another CoD.game after the joke that Black Ops is. At least not for sixty dollars since the single player means nothing to me. And not sure if I would go with PC or PS3, different people on each.

No worries man. I figure with as good as we were as a group in MW2, we'd be equally as owning in this so I thought I'd include you.

And sorry Legendary for forgetting you.

Now, I did actually snag MW3 today. With a $25 gift card I already had plus getting a $20 gift card for picking up the game, MW3 cost about $15 plus tax; it was hard to pass up such a deal. I played for around an hour and a half, looked around some maps offline before hopping online. I have to say, it's nowhere near as bad as people made it sound. Gameplay felt pretty much like MW2, which isn't a bad thing for my tastes. I love the nerfed noob tubes and explosives in general. Guns are more powerful overall, and at times it felt like I died quick, but other times I seemed to take a lot of damage and survive. I can't comment much on maps, guns, or streaks yet as I've only played 4 or 5 games. Managed to hit level 8 in those few games though, with a couple 7 kill streaks. It took some time into the first match before I started to get my feel back, though I finished under 1 kdr. I'm up to 1.4 now through those few matches, and once I can sort out my classes and go silenced I should be back up to what I'm capable of. The only other thing I can add now is I love Kill Confirmed. It's a mode that really works with my flanking style. I noticed some people would cover an area and I could circle behind them and grab a couple tags, maybe even deny a kill or 2. I'll have more impressions when I can get a bit deeper in the game.

A laggy match picture.

There's a huge controversy over the 'Davis' Family Vacation' scene that isn't needed..
I'll use a quote from someone else on the Youtube vid: "Arabs are getting blown up by car bombs constantly in real life and nobody gives a **** and then as soon as one minor American computer character gets blown up by a car bomb it makes headlines."

Thoughts?

Also, I'm hopefully gonna get this game within a week :D:tup:

I don't think it was needed and I think the No Russian mission in MW2 was worse.

I wouldn't care if it was there or not. Honestly I was wondering why they put the mission No Russian in MW2 where you just kill everyone.

It does make you hate Makarov.

I think MW3 may be a bad luck charm for my sports teams. I cut the Duke basketball game off to play when we were up 13, and we only won 77-76. Against Belmont. :scared:

Since the game isn't selling storytelling I believe that is just selling controversy, it was unnecessary for the plot/story but is hugely helpful for sales as it gain press attention(a trick that worked back in MW2).

Regarding the whole morality issue, I don't see why people should highlight such things, is just a bad placed scene to give some structure to a game that is as stereotypical as hell and storytelling broken, I mean:

Makarov sets on his own the entire Russian army to invade Europe, after this very army previously invaded the US and still have a huge scale conflict between the US, to then go simultaneously in war with Europe?

Also why would Russia attack its strategic allied in Europe(Germany) and why would the Russian President be negotiating peace with the west since its been stablish that the Americans proceeded with the attack, and the war was only towards the Americans.

It was then also established that Makakov was man-hunted by Russian/American forces, and then suddenly he is not anymore and he manages to resurrect the military wing left by Zakayev which was broken when the russian friend defeat them.

There are a lot of plot-holes and irrational stuff in that plot line, IW is aware of that yet somehow they managed to get away with it along with some other inconsistencies.

And I'm not touch/affected by that. Regardless of that, it should be noticed that American soldiers get blown up by IEDs all the time and no one gives a crap about them so?

Even BF3 story has better structure in some ways, and far more plausible events/character(even if it falls in the same stereotypical crap).

So is the competition on this game garbage or am I getting better? I got 12 Attack Helicopters, which is probably more than my MW2 grand total, and 2 Reapers today. Half of those helicopters were earned using the Thermal/Hybrid sights on the SCAR, which by the way are quite nice to use. I'm only about 12k XP from getting the Gold Camo on my SCAR and then onto the G36C and the ACR 6.8. Maybe the P90. I think I'm either level 47 or 48. Guess I play too much when I'm out of town :P.

It might be a combination of things CAM. Obviously you've played more so you're constantly getting better (and you weren't as bad as you think in MW2), there has to be new people out there which will be easy targets, and no more Stopping Power just might be enough of a difference which gets you kills in scenarios that got you killed in MW2.

I tried out a Survival mission earlier and dang are they fun. I like it tons more than Zombies. Got to Wave 20, although it was on Easy. A lapse in thinking with 3 Juggers running around did us in.

This game is really good:) And I cant understand those who complain of the graphics, I prefer CODs look over some 30fps with screentearing and lots of jaggies..
Only one thing getting me angry is all the bad connection, but I guess its because of overload on the servers.

I bought this game today, and even though I'm complete rubbish at every shooting game, I still enjoy it.

A n00b question: How are we supposed to practice flying a plane or helicopter without going online and essentially stuffing-up a team match? There has to be an easier, guilt-free way.

There's not much consistency with the quality of teams. I've been completely 🤬 in one lobby in Domination, went about 1 for 10 before giving up. Yet others I've been doing quite well. The other night I went about 16-4, but we ended up losing by about 4000 points somehow.

Played a few games with Cracker last night. Again, reaffirmed my hatred of Resistance, horrible map. Not having too much hatred of other maps at the moment, Dome needs to be a bit bigger, but that's about it.

Yet to use the AR's, sticking with my L86 and having just used the Pekcheng thing in one of the Spec Ops, I think that'll be my next LMG.

SMAW kills are still hilarious, especially in close quarters.

I don't really hate any maps so far except for Downturn (there is no organization, everyone is just running around with no idea where teammates are) and Outpost (takes too long to get to the middle). I really like Fallen, Bakaara, Dome, Hardhat (my favorite), Arkaaden, and Underground. I know I'm forgetting some though. I'm about to hop on now before football starts.

Wrong thread ;)
Planes and helis are BF3

Guys in a word do you think the game is worth buying? I liked MW2.

If you liked MW2 then I'd be surprised if you didn't like MW3. It's better than MW2, if not a huge step forward and with some annoyances still there.

What annoyances? Tell me they fixed the knife...

They sure as heck fixed the knife. You can't knife anyone unless they're about 2 feet in front of you and it doesn't register half the time. There is a "Melee" proficiency for the Riot Shield though, if you count that.

I'm having issues with the map Fallen. The brick building that only has 2 entrences and looks over the entire map is really anoying. Whenever I play on that map, there are always snipers and LMG's in there and I can't get anywhere close to there. And if I ever do, I get kiled right away.

Use a Thermal Assault Rifle. They have almost no sway (just as much as a Red Dot) and you can see across the map and hold your breath. They're way better than in MW2.

Don't have any thermals yet.

Being a geography nerd / nazi... I noticed something yesterday that irk'd me:

Multiplayer map: Outpost
Location: North East spawn point in front of the tunnel... the building/tower in front of it.

Notice that on the raised tower portion there is a huge map. The writing around it says something about the Arctic Research bla bla bla... and the map is supposed to be in Siberia. But the map is of Antarctica. :dunce:

This vid shows where I'm talking about (it's right at the beginning):

I completed the campaign earlier today on veteran and it was incredible. The ending was epic and if you hated Makorov before you'll hate him even more.
