I must say I find the car quite bumpy, but that's another story. Anyway, it really looks like his back is going a little when he enters the corner (although he's on a strange line there already). He corrects this with some countersteer to the left, then steers into the corner again - fine so far. But then, he steers to the left again, and that bit exactly is where it goes wrong for me. That was totally unnecessary, or, if you will, intention. A seven times world champion doesn't make mistakes like that.

EDIT: I just read that Schumacher was punished in the form of being put on 22nd place in the grid!

That, and he enters that turn so damn close to the wall. I think the second video really shows how much of a cheater he is. It was totally ridiculous to enter that corner so close to the wall. The second countersteer really is the icing on the cake of his cheap-ass move.

I hope they punt his ass back to Massa, were both Ferraris belong.

Edit: Hey, now Mark Webber is P2...I bet he's absolutely thrilled. He was probably helping Renault protest. XD
 
He turns it back straight the final time because his tire locked on the other turn. Can't you guys see all that dust and crap? He had to wait for the wheel to start spinning again. It's still a bogus bag, though.

The second countersteer wasn't needed. He wasn't sliding, and the tire was rotating. Plus, look how he enters that turn. Watch carefully how he enters it, and then watch how Alonso enters it. Big difference. Proof his move was cheesy ploy to cause a phony accident. He knew he would have limited grip so close to the wall in all that debris. And if it wasn't deliberate, he should suffer a penalty for being such a stupid driver. Like was said above, even Ide committing a move like that would have been embarrassing.

Weird. I checked first on grandprix.com and it was stated that the stewards put him back to 8th, but that must be erronate as other sources puts him at the back with fellow Massa.

A decision done in fairness of the sport, not of hate or despise toward Michael. Still, what a character! :sly:

Massa crashes, which is just bad luck, but to have your flagship Super Driver get caught red-handed (pardon the pun) cheating? Sheesh.
 
Official Ruling.

The stewards of the Monaco Grand Prix have deleted all of Michael Schumacher's qualifying times, sending him to the back of the grid for Sunday's race. In a statement the stewards said that Schumacher had deliberately stopped his car on the track in the closing seconds of qualifying, preventing rivals from setting a faster time.

As Schumacher will join his team mate Massa at the back of the grid Fernando Alonso will start Sunday's race from pole position with Mark Webber joining him on the front row.

The stewards considered data evidence produced to them by both Ferrari and the FIA, viewed video evidence, and compared data evidence from Schumacher's previous laps in qualifying. Their findings were, as they mentioned in their statement: "having set a fast time in sector one, the driver lost time in sector two, arrived at Turn 18 at a speed little, if any, different from his previous fastest lap, and braked with such force that his front wheels locked up, requiring the driver to regain control of the car."

"The driver ultimately did so without hitting the barrier on the outside of Turn 18. The engine of the car subsequently stalled, with the result of the car partially blocked the track."

"Having compared all relevant data, the stewards can find no justifiable reason for the driver to have braked with such undue, excessive and unusual pressure at this part of the circuit, and are therefore left with no alternatives but to conclude that the driver deliberately stopped his car on the circuit in the last few minutes of qualifying, at a time at which he had thus far set the fastest laptime."

The Stewards penalised Schumacher under Article 112 of the FIA Sporting Regulations, which makes it impossible for Ferrari to appeal.

"Article 112 enables the stewards to delete any number of a driver's qualifying times for a driving infringement, which decision is not susceptible to appeal," the Statement said. "The stewards accordingly direct that the qualifying times of Michael Schumacher, the driver of car number five, be deleted. The effect of this is that...the driver will start the race from the back of the grid."

So how does fisi stay in the top ten if he essentially did the same thing - blocking another driver from a fast lap?
 
Well, blocking one guy is bad, but causing an intentional yellow to screw up the entire field behind you is worse.
 
Boo! Now the race has been all but handed to Alonso. đź‘Ž Räikkönen will have to get past Webber quickly to be in with a chance of challenging Alonso. I hope he can do it, but…. :indiff:
 
Fisi really needs to stop being a hot-head during qualifying. His time was good. Was there really a need to block Coulthard in a car which is far inferior to the Renault?

And Michael, shame on you. Surely you must know that nobody is going to believe that a 7-time champion cannot turn a car.
 
now lets just hope the second row mclarens can do a tag team race and take the win from alonso :sly:

I wouldn't be surprised if Schumi got some additional slaps on the wrist later on (i.e. getting banned for the next 2 or three races). Way to set an example, Mikey. :irked:
But this begs the question: WWED? (What would Enzo do?)
 
If they were going to ban Schumi in the next 2 to 3 races, then why let him race tonight? I still believe in you Schumi, even if the rest of the F1 world doesn't! Keep your head up!

I’d say that you’re in the minority. I’m not saying that Michael is a cheat, but I do think he was stupid, and deserves to be punished for his actions – if only because they need to be consistent in the way they adjudicate things like this. I mean, if Jacques gets punished for “blocking” at the Nürburgring, then Michael should get punished for this.

Whatever the case, the real losers today are the fans – who don’t get the race they were hoping for. It brings up the whole debate about upholding the rules, or putting on a show. :indiff:
 
This just messed up the race for me. Sure, he did it intentionally but for ours sake they should have just taken his fastest lap away, set him a few places back on the grid but nooooo, they have to screw it all up. Now Alonso is just going to drive off and win it, without any competition.
