I just won the Zonda. Already have the DeLorean and the Tank Car, which leaves like....8 missions or so to go... Good luck with the rest of 'em! I know I'm not looking forward to 34!
For me M34 has two faces. Until I had driven the SLR there for about 2 hours (not continously) it seemed impossible. Now it seems possible - just needs very few mistakes.
Everyone is different but my experience has been gained as follows:
1. Early in the quest I did 3 runs of M34 - no expectations other than learning something.
2. By accident I had some license tests I needed to gold and they just came arouns (in my random order) at a similar time. I would gold a test or 2 and then put that knowledge into action - some free laps, some in M34 itself.
3. Get a map - write what you feel you need to on it. - I have one showing where the dirty tricks are useful (as time goes on I am finding they are less useful - grass is not a fast surface). I have another map showing hard vs soft braking points. I had to learn where to take flat out and where to brake especially from Bergwerk to Karrussell.
4. Do a lap or 2 free run. Some people may do 10 free laps for each M34 run. I have not yet gone that far but I think it is necessary to do a few stress free laps to find the limits of the car through various sections. You can try a few things out.
5. My car is setup with no ASM, TCS 2 and medium sports tires. Others (presumably NTSC) have said they get too much grip with this setup. Others have said the cars handle differently - maybe try hard tires if you have NTSC.
I did not know the Nurb before getting this game. It is a long lap to remember but when you know the track it gives you confidence if nothing else. Confidence is needed for M34 because without it you may give up. Also when doing M34 runs do not quit all of them when you stuff up as this results in you knowing half the track well and it is the second half of the track where all the action happens so you need to know it well.
