Yes, BMW have gone a bit Japanese with this one, none the less I am sure that it will be an amazing bike, just wish is had a little bit of that BMW Querkyness:)

I am a bike man myself too, i also think the bikes & cars should be separate. There would be too many tracks and bikes in GT5 though. If they made TT2 on the PS3 i would enjoy pulling wheelies when crossing the finishing line again.

I wouldn't mind bikes in GT, as long as there are no car vs. bike races. LEave that for games like Midnight CLub.

Like many others here, I would prefer the franchise being "unstained".
-For me GT is all about cars
-I don't want to see any bikes in the simulation/career mode
-I don't want to ride bikes in gt5 and be forced to obtain certain trophees with pad...

The name of Gran Turismo put aside, the idea of mixing cars and bike in race, just like an arcade game (PGR4 for example), with the physics of a Gran Turismo could be very interesting from my point of view.

If Kazunori manage to add bikes in the arcade mode or in some sort of mini games without altering/dithering at all, the reputation of Gran Turismo definetely being a car game, it's ok for me. More than ok, I would be pleased to have some fresh mini-events like this after 300+ hours of serious racing.

Just an example (that need to be tuned) of the way they could do that : to please all the fans, they could release GT5 first (no bikes). Then release Tourist Trophy 2 (no cars). And reward people who bought both games by creating a bonus mode for both game that let you race cars and bikes together in new events. Like a secret bonus which could be unlocked when you reach maybe 50% or more on both games.

Why a bonus mode for both games ? Because that mode would only let you ride bikes in TT2 against AI cars and only drive cars in GT5 against AI bikes. So, integrity of each game still remain untouched because you cannot control bikes in a car game and vice versa.

If it's done that way,
-PD won't have to delay GT5 in order to add bikes and a bike career mode.
-PD would have lot of time to create a whole game with lot of bikes and content instead of a mere bike mode in GT5
-PD might make more benefits by releasing a dedicated game than only including bikes in GT5 for free
-People who are not interested in bike at all won't see any bike in GT5
-People who only loves bikes game won't have to buy a racing car game in order to get TT2 on ps3
-People won't even think of jetskis or skateboards being in GT5 since it's a mode to reward people who bought and completed both GT5 and TT2

In recents CES interviews, Kazunori talked about the idea of using the motion controller. Maybe if he add bikes, we'll be able to ride them with...

Really, the only point of having bikes in the game is to do bikes vs. cars. If they kept them separate they would just make a TT2 and make a few more million dollars.

I may be wrong here, but didn't TT sell pretty poorly (compared to GT)? If it did, I doubt them creating a TT2, but I could be completely wrong.

Edit: Oops bump.

Can this thread be closed now? All the trailers and gameplay videos have shown no bikes in GT5.

And if this be the last post, let it be made clear that he has thought about it. Whether or not we will see bikes ever is still a great mystery.

Not sure if I like it or not. Yet.

Yes, it didin't near GT levels but I don't think it was all that poor. Kaz already stated when modelling bikes fot TT they did it with the PS3's power in mind and considering how much GT assets TT uses, TT2 wont cost them all that much (using GT5's assets).

I have a friend looking forward to TT2 more than GT5 and he is a car and bike guy.

Add Bikes. Make it an extra like a Prologue version of TT2 included with GT5. As long as it taking PD to get GT5 out TT2 could be a PS4 title and I would rather a taste of TT2 now then wait until a proper TT2 release.

Yep, it sold very poorly in comparison, but it was a bit of a sleeper really, and not that well promoted. It didn't contain much in the way of content either, and with only 4 bikes on track at once, races were a bit sparse. Still, I enjoyed it and can't wait for TT2.

TT was started by a bike-fanatic PD employee using GT4's engine, etc., etc.
We all know it was basically a sideproject which, although it was limited in content, was still a hugely impressive first take on a new genre.

I sure had a great time playing it and really hope TT2 will arrive before GT6, even if it were still just a sideproject with more bikes than the previous one.
Really hope though it will be a full game like GT5 is for cars, but i'm not sure they really could as the market might be smaller to justify all the resources for including, say, 750 or so bikes and associated content.

Think it makes more sense as a stand-alone title although some bike versus car interaction between GT5 and TT2 might be fun ( maybe online in some events, not sure this is even possible ).
Finally i want to point out there is a TT section on GTP which is extremely silent at the moment and with no confirmation TT2 will actually materialise perhaps some more regular visitors will start to get it back to life as TT2 is being discussed there.

Since PD seems to admit reading these pages, a bit more discussion on that section might persuade them there is still enthusiasm for TT2.
Wishful thinking i know, GT5 is coming and will demand all my attention for a while, and then suddenly there it is, the real riding simulation part 2.:)

That means nothing considering we've barely seen anything regarding GT5's full potential.

Even then, I doubt they are in. All the official stuff that have been announced for GT5 have been seen.

One of the things that I really like about driving simulators is that you can replicate the main controls that you would have in a real car (wheel, clutch, brake, throttle). The thing that I don't like about bike simulators is that you can't replicate the main controls. There is no real way to simulate weight shifting on a bike properly.

SBK and TT did it pretty well, even if it is a pain to get right. You just need to assign a tuck button and use one of the sticks as a body motion controller.

I'm more a pad user, so for me it's not an issue. Having said that, even with wheels and pedals on a driving game, it doesn't make the game any more realistic - just more controllable and fun. It's still nothing like being sat behind the wheel of a real car in motion (no g-forces).

Having said that, of course there is a way to simulate the weight shifting on a bike. It might not be cheap to implement, but even old arcade games like "Hang On" by SEGA had bikes with twist-grips that you sat on and made use of shifting body weight to help control the bike. With todays technology, I'm sure a smaller version could be made for the home, but with two wheeled racers being less popular, I'm not sure it would be economical.

Just make Tourist Trophy 2 and ship it with GT5 as a special edition.

Ok there was a thread closed on this matter why was it brought back up? This will be close soon.

I don't think motorcycles would appear in GT5, it's about cars as the poll says=>(Hell No! it's...) If they add them it will be like half "GT" and half "Tourist Trophy"
